Peter Dillons as definitely your average big city pub.... Does that make sense? It's a dive, but not... do you know what I mean? It's got all your staples, a great stop for a solid pint and a nice convo because the staff here have always been welcoming and serve with a New York smile.... Got it? Good! I passed this place a ton when I used to do overnights, but it was the morning and unfortunately I couldn't break down the door for a morning burger n brew, I just don't think they'd take kindly to that, plus, they don't have burgers... or any food for that matter. I always loved and hated that, but these guys never had a problem with me ordering a pint and my pocket picnic Good people, good time. read more

Decent bar to catch a game - certainly has been through the times, but still pours a nice pint. Green Guinness tables, wooden stools, some stone finishes, and rugged hardwood floors add to the old timey pub vibe. read more

Walked in without expectations and walked out genuinely impressed. The energy inside instantly pulls you in great music, lively atmosphere, and a vibe that feels efortless rather than forced. Brought friends to this pub thinking it'd be awesome. Instead, after being there only an hour, the manager or owner without warning shut down our pool game (didn't even refund us for it) and told us we couldn't play anymore. When we asked why, he just ignored us and walked away. Even as we closed out our tab, we tried to find out what we had done wrong. He wouldn't even dignify us with a response. Businesses who cannot even appreciate their patrons should simply not be in business. They should move on in their lives to other endeavors. I can only assume he was discriminating against us in some way. I would definitely never recommend this pub. To anyone. Ever. read more

Great Irish pub to come to for drinks or to catch a game on one of their multiple TV's. Crowded during major sporting events. There's a pool table and various seating areas. The bartenders are great, friendly and attentive. Would come back again if I'm in the area and want to just chill and watch a game and grab some drinks. read more

Stopped in to watch the beginning of the first World Series game between the Yankees and Dodgers. Visiting from Florida, we wanted to experience the Yankee fandom. It was very entertaining - as we had perfect seats to see the entire bar with its patrons. They don't serve food, but you can bring food in. We chose not to. We had to go up and get our own drinks. There wasn't any table service. We'd go back understanding that this is a "just for fun" kind of place! read more

Man, I fell in love with this place. Pete, you the man! Came here for a couple of drinks to wait for my beautiful to have dinner with her ladies. Had two beer and just chilling, watching the game and literally scrolling my phone. My man Pete came over and be like" you like Jamesons?" Obvs I'm like hell yeah! Jk. I was like yes. Good local bar. I wouldn't travel far to come here, but my friend lives down the block on 40th and this is my favorite spot in the area. Good prices, got just what you need. People are always cool around here. Saw a fight once outside. Pool tables you can play. Bathroom is far away downstairs. I come here whenever I'm in the neighborhood! read more

Absolutely Appalling Experience If I could give this place zero stars, I would. My friends and I (a group of 19) visited Peter Dillion's expecting a fun night out, but instead, we were met with an absolutely disgusting display of racism and hostility from the staff. Without any explanation, we were kicked out while being subjected to derogatory, racist slurs. It was beyond unacceptable and horrifying in this day and age. To make matters worse, the pub itself was filthy. The tables were sticky and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Gnats were swarming everywhere, adding to the already disgusting environment. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a welcoming or even remotely clean establishment. Avoid this place at all costs--there's nothing Irish about the behavior or the experience here. read more

We came here on a Sunday night it being the only place near that had drinks available, predacious against young women vibes after chatting with a patron regular (who was suggesting other places better suited for us) the bartender refused to give me and my girlfriend our drink order and told us to "F**** off...so we left! So bizarre & didn't feel welcomed as women since there was no good reason besides the fact a patron was suggestion other places for us girls. read more

Nice average divey pub. Wandered in when I was in the area because I had time to kill. Searched Yelp quickly for a bar and this spot had good reviews. Sat down and asked for tequila, the bartender informed me tonight was $4 Jose Cuervo shots and I was IN. I originally wrote this review last night as a 3 star because to me it's just a nice average pub. However, Peter the bartender was so sweet because I was by myself and he went out of his way to be super welcoming. So definitely 4 stars now! read more

Came here with a group of people. It was a decent little place for a group of people. The pool table seemed nice but there was such a long line I think they could do for another. The beers are very well priced and this has a quiet, removed dive bar feel. Could do with some music to lift the theme. read more

We stopped by Peter Dillon's for a pint, as we were waiting on a friend to show up. It's a nice place, with a very "home" feel to it. I'm not sure if this place had food. My girl and I didn't really bother looking either as we had just eaten a plate of halal before coming in. We ordered our drinks and sat down for about 45 minutes. A decent place to grab a pint. What threw me off was the funk/disco/dance music that was being played. Strange for an Irish pub. It's worth a stop if you're nearby and thirsty. read more

Let me first start by saying that there is no kitchen so don't go here for food although they do let you bring food in. I went on a Saturday for football and the bartender was cool and set it up so i could hear my game without me asking. They have pool tables, tv's, and drinks. read more

Ok so I dealt with some major drama tonight after arriving in NYC - this is my hometown that I haven't come back since COVID and I miss it!!! I stay at The Renwick and jonzing for a stiff drink. Here we go! I wasn't interested in walking in here but the music was blazing and it's close to my hotel. OMG! Yes!!! Can't believe I found my new NYC watering hole! Sooooo good. Peter Dillon's is a pretty good Irish bar. It's located a few blocks from Broadway. This is just a bar for getting good beer and whiskey. It doesn't serve any food, so eat before. The ambience is casual and fun. If you're going to meet there, you should know there's two locations of Peter Dillon's. It has another one on 36th Street. This one seemed slightly bigger than the other. Both have pretty good prices for the city. The happy hour prices are good. I felt like some whiskey. Jameson shots are about $5. It's not bad for around here. Jameson and ginger ale in a pint glass is about $8, and strong. It's a good convenient location. It's right near Grand Central. The music is usually good and hip. read more

Ambiance is limited to that of those poor souls who surround you... as you order delivery from equally sad establishments and await your eventual demise as a "local" being serviced as carelessly as a low priced hooker sporting ye olde free bag o dicks. No women to be seen in a five block radius. Most likely due to a myriad of reasons that begin and end with a certain bar patron who we shall call "Rich the Beard." Solid pub in midtown. They carry magners, so it's a yes from me :) Prices - 3/5, their happy hour specials weren't the most appealing to me. I'm not going to order bud light or Stella from an Irish pub. Ambiance-4/5 love it, brings me back to my study abroad days. Wish they would play more traditional music, but I understand. A place that markets itself as an Irish Pub needs, in my opinion, three things. Irish beer. Irish f food. Irish music. Simply having Guinness on tap doesn't make you an Irish pub. Yes, please. Downright friendly staff and good drink deals are why I'd return. My wallet was happy to see $4 shot specials the evening I was there, and $4 PBRs too - no credit card minimums. We had gotten weird looks at another place that was listed as a pub as we were wearing casual clothes walking around the day. This place was all decorated for Halloween early as we came during the last week of September. There was no cocktail menu, but the bartender basically makes you what you request. Awww my neighborhood bar! Literally right next door to my former apartment building :))) I've been here twice I think, once with coworkers. Bar on the right side, seating area on left. They have pool tables here too. It looks like a cheap bar from the outside but there are surprisingly many well-dressed businessmen inside! I guess that's a result of its location very close to Grand Central in Midtown East/Murray Hill :) Bar and the former manager have a very special place in my heart :) Pretty sure I had my phone uncharged here once when I lost my apartment keys, and at first I was intimidated by all these big men around me, but all of them turned out to be super nice and willing to help me out! read more

Not quite sure how as a lifelong Raider fan I didn't come here earlier and now I really regret it but now I will never go anywhere else and never should a Raider fan ever go anywhere else except to Peter Dillons on a Sunday if you're in New York City. It is literally like being in the Black Hole. I have never seen such a more amazing fabulous wonderful group of Rader family gathered in one place anywhere outside of Oakland then in this bar On Any Given Sunday in football season. I am blown away I am so in love with this place I will forever be here on every Sunday in football season. Lifelong fan from now on that wishes I had been for the past 30 years. read more

There were tons of table tables available the entire time and when my friend arrived about 12 minutes later, they seated us, I totally could've sat the whole time and it wouldn't have been a problem. Not the end of the world and I probably could've pushed it harder, but it definitely was a little awkward!

The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. Another staff member was dismissive when closing us out and rolled her eyes when asked to take cash. The overall vibe felt like we weren't wanted, even though it was only around 11 PM. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. Couldn't pay me to return.

The bloody's are good quality, with a good bite of Tabasco and horseradish (I prefer that!) and the mimosas are bubbly forward (they're not skimping you with mostly OJ). The food prices for brunch aren't crazy either. Selection is a bit limited, but seeing as this is a pub/tavern, I think they have a pretty good mix. Overall, would absolutely recommend. If you have a big group, have some common sense and book a reservation, but likely able to do walk-ins for small groups, couples, or singles easily. This is a great option for laid back vibes in HK.
