Girls just wanna have fun
Paula D.

Stopped in to watch the beginning of the first World Series game between the Yankees and Dodgers. Visiting from Florida, we wanted to experience the Yankee fandom. It was very entertaining - as we had perfect seats to see the entire bar with its patrons. They don't serve food, but you can bring food in. We chose not to. We had to go up and get our own drinks. There wasn't any table service. We'd go back understanding that this is a "just for fun" kind of place!

Great place to unwind after a busy day.

Great place to unwind after a busy day at work. Many good memories here. Working remotely doesn't give me a chance to come here more often. But we made it a must to come back for our reunion last week. Drinks are very good as well.

Man, I fell in love with this place. Pete, you the man! Came here for a couple of drinks to wait for my beautiful to have dinner with her ladies. Had two beer and just chilling, watching the game and literally scrolling my phone. My man Pete came over and be like" you like Jamesons?" Obvs I'm like hell yeah! Jk. I was like yes. And there goes a free shot from the bartender! Tbh idk if his the owner. But I appreciate the vibe and how I just wanna be at the corner and chill and just have my own personal time. Much appreciated it Pete! Thanks for the shot! Tip them well please ! They really do keep the price low in a area near GRAND CENTRAL!

Awesome local Irish pub, great vibe, fantastic staff, great selection on tap ! If you are looking for your new "local", this is it!

Great music ambiance and crowd

Great ambiance, crowd and music. Guineas on tap. Juke box and a pool table. Sports tvs and Irish flare surround the place. A-ok!

Nice average divey pub. Wandered in when I was in the area because I had time to kill. Searched Yelp quickly for a bar and this spot had good reviews. Sat down and asked for tequila, the bartender informed me tonight was $4 Jose Cuervo shots and I was IN. I originally wrote this review last night as a 3 star because to me it's just a nice average pub. However, Peter the bartender was so sweet because I was by myself and he went out of his way to be super welcoming. So definitely 4 stars now!

Came here with a group of people. It was a decent little place for a group of people. The pool table seemed nice but there was such a long line I think they could do for another. The beers are very well priced and this has a quiet, removed dive bar feel. Could do with some music to lift the theme.

Nice atmosphere, quick service in off hours. Came in for a beer and was more than pleasantly surprised by the $6/pint deal.

It definitely has the vibe of a speakeasy, especially with the jazz band playing. We went with the brunch special which is $35 for bottomless drinks with the purchase of an entree. It pays off if you're having more than 2 drinks and we made sure we did! Bloody Mary's were excellent! The food here was outstanding. I had the 3 Eggs Any Style and my wife had the Breakfast Flatbread. Those dishes as well as our friends were well made and delicious. If you're headed to a play or just in the area, I'd recommend stopping here to eat, drink or both!

We're three young women in the service industry and still felt completely unwelcome--the hostess told us to find our own seating even though the sign said see hostess. The bartender was rude and uninterested, standing 5 min+ at the bar without even being acknowledged. Another staff member was dismissive when closing us out and rolled her eyes when asked to take cash. The overall vibe felt like we weren't wanted, even though it was only around 11 PM. The DJ was underwhelming and the bathroom was vile. The most pleasant part was the below average $20 drinks. For an expensive, well-known spot, this was a very poor experience. Couldn't pay me to return.

Warm lighting, good energy, and a chill crowd make it an easy place to hang whether you're starting your night or winding it down. One of the best parts is the menu. It's super affordable for NYC, but still delivers on quality. Everything feels simple, satisfying, and done right. We ordered the burger and fries, wings and fries, plus a margarita and a mojito. The burger was juicy and filling, the wings were flavorful, and the fries were hot and crispy. The drinks were solid, refreshing, and exactly what you want at a spot like this. Location-wise, it's perfect. The Grizzly Pear is close to so many things, making it a great stop before or after exploring the neighborhood, catching up with friends, or heading to another spot nearby. The service really stood out too. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing, which added to the relaxed vibe of the place. Overall, The Grizzly Pear is a great go-to if you want good food, decent drinks, a cool atmosphere, and fair prices all in one spot. Definitely a place I'd come back to again.

Food is good, service was great. Management is horrible…read more I have been frequenting this restaurant for a long time. I noticed recently that there was a $2 transaction fee added to my bill. This was not a credit card fee (that I can understand). It is a "transaction fee" that is applied to all invoices. Are you kidding me! I have no trouble paying a an extra dollar for a burger. But if you try to rip me off by sneaking in extra charges, I will never come back. You just lost a regular customer over a $2 charge.

They had outdoor seating along 9th ave and 51st street. We sat inside at a hightop , along their big open windows of 9th; great in between of inside and outside. Plenty of options for a big or small group, or solo! Our server was McKenna, who was incredibly attentive, we never felt like we were waiting or had to wave anyone down. The food came quickly, and was great. Nothing that changed our lives, but hot, quick, and delicious. I can see this becoming a regular spot for when we can't decide on where to go and just want somewhere dependable and consistent. Inside is like a typical Irish pub: long bar, wood everywhere, comfy high tops and booth seating along the wall. Keep in mind that it is a sports bar with TVs everywhere, so they will be playing the major sport of the season. The volume isn't too loud though, enough to hear, but don't need to cover your ears. The bottomless option on the weekend is great, 2-3 drinks and you get your money's worth. The bloody's are good quality, with a good bite of Tabasco and horseradish (I prefer that!) and the mimosas are bubbly forward (they're not skimping you with mostly OJ). The food prices for brunch aren't crazy either. Selection is a bit limited, but seeing as this is a pub/tavern, I think they have a pretty good mix. Overall, would absolutely recommend. If you have a big group, have some common sense and book a reservation, but likely able to do walk-ins for small groups, couples, or singles easily. This is a great option for laid back vibes in HK.
