This rating of for the KONG toys, I have a medium sized dog (40 pounds) and within 5 minutes, no exaggeration, the toy was completely torn apart. For a company that sells "tough" and "high-quality" toys a 17 dollar toy should not break within 5 mins. Very disappointed.

If there were an option for 0 stars, I would hands down give it to the team that handles grooming at this location. I will never step foot in a Petco again. First off, During the COVID-19 outbreak they are only offering "essential" packages which coincidentally only includes a full spa package-a great way to make money during a pandemic I'll give them that! Keep up the entrepreneurial mindset, I'll keep in mind that a blueberry facial is essential for my pets health! When making an appointment and reviewing all the details of my dog including his breed, weight, and age I was told that my dog qualified for the introductory puppy package that costs $25! I went back and forth with the employee about how great of a deal that was and reiterated his weight, age, and breed! When originally getting off the phone, I was so excited because the employee I spoke with was incredible professional and kind over the phone (don't get excited, it was all a show!) Upon arrival, I was asked yet again his weight and age and then told that it would be $37 for a bath and $25 for the add-ons which I was originally told are all included in a $25 intro package. Let me be clear, I have NO PROBLEM spending that kind of money on my sweet GoldenDoodle, he is worth every penny. However, I refuse to give my business to a team that will lie on the phone just to get you in the door and then act as if nothing was done wrong. I'm fully sure that this has worked on others because hey, you've taken time out of your day, you already had this planned, your pet NEEDS to be groomed! That's not going to work on me, there are plenty of other businesses that offer the same services, and better yet take care of their pets as well as the owners! When I asked how it went from $25 to pretty much $60 the employee said it didn't. Two employees decided to stand behind her for backup. I'm pretty sure $25+$37=62 but Petco must do math just as wrong as they do their customers! When I asked why they lied on the phone, they said they were sorry but there was nothing they could do. I recommend you ensure your team knows what they are talking about when they answer the phone, although I'm pretty sure they do and are just lying to get people in the door. I also recommend that you don't say you don't know who booked the appointment when you know it was you. I could close my eyes and know that the person I dealt with at the counter was the same seemingly kind professional I spoke with on the phone. Lastly, When you have an upset customer, don't crack a sarcastic "have a nice day" when she walks out the door. If you've read through this whole review, I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere to ensure you AND your pup are taken care of.

This is the closest Petco location to my home. I've been here more than a few times with my dog. She loves it, there is tons for her to smell. She even got a bath here once. They have everything you would expect from a big box pet store. Tons of pet food choices, treats and chew toys. Fish, ferrets, rodents, snakes and lizards. They have it all and everything you need to house and feed all those animals.

Upon making my appointment I was not made aware of the new adjustments in price and charging an extra % to use credit. If I was aware I could have brought my debit card with me but I never use it so I don't carry it. Aside from that I picked up my sweet pup with a hefty price tag of $177.00! That is a bit more than a "small adjustment" to their rates! I absolutely will not be going back.

We have taken are puppy to Pearland Barkway since his first cut and have gone quite a few times since. The front desk employees are always great and detailed, and today was no different. The reason I am leaving this review is just provide feedback about my experience and how I left feeling. When dropping off Lio, my boyfriend and I are super specific about how we cut his hair, because he's a poodle a mix and the cut usually defines that. When I was asked about the cut for today, I asked if we can just do the same as last time. The woman up front even went to find the sheet from a filing cabinet and called the groomer to the front to discuss it with me. She asked if I wanted a "4" all around and I said if that's what he got last time then yes. She copied a few notes from his last sheet to today's sheet. When I picked him up, I was very surprised and didn't even recognize Lio to be honest. I didn't say anything other greet him and give him some love, up until I asked if everything looked good. I said it was muncher shorter than what I expected and again she was kind enough to bring out the sheets and call the groomer out. I showed a video of what Lio looked like when he got his haircut a month ago to the groomer. She said this is what a "4" all around is and I replied I don't know all the terminology about grooming but this is not what he looked like last time. A second receptionist pointed out that his last sheet had notes on there that indicated to keep his hair long in a particular style that obviously were not taken into consideration. I told them, well his hair is gone and I asked well what can I ask for next time so that we can get what we wanted. They pulled out the sheet and made notes with me to ensure next cut would be better. Throughout this conversation, they weren't at all rude but I felt like the groomer realized she had made a mistake. She didn't apologize but said the last sheet had a lot of notes and made it confusing. I also felt it was odd to charge a customer before seeing how the grooming went. I wasn't expecting anything but offering some sort of refund or discount on my next cut seemed fitting due to how much hair they cut off of my puppy. I know in the future to provide photos and be EXTREMELY descriptive. I'm also going to request a different groomer next time we come in. I went ahead and uploaded two photos. One is from a month ago from his last cut and today's; I'm sure you'll see the difference.

I have a very high maintenance long haired persian cat and am new to the area, so I trusted this business since they are the first groomer that pops up when you google "Best groomer near me". First of all, let's just start with the fact that it was a drop off system. For a cat. That had a pre planned appointment set already. This isn't just a normal drop off system. It's a room full of dogs that are being left there for hours. Oh, did I mention my cat was there for 5 hours? AND they didn't answer my phone call twice to check on my cat? Smh. Anyway, my cat was left still wet, not combed through all the way, and I came to get rid of his knots, which I was told "If he's too difficult I wont dry him through all the way" Girl huh?! what were you doing with him for five hours then?! They literally still had a christmas tree up. In march. If that doesn't tell you how lazy they are I don't know what will. I give this place a 2/10. If you want to go somewhere that will actually treat your high maintenance long haired feline, go to Clear Lake Kennels. I paid $65 to get a proper blowout, knots out, and three baths all within an hour and a half time frame. I paid $125 for a still wet cat, knots, and choppy grooming at Puppy Love Grooming Salon. Will never bring my cat here again and will NEVER recommend even to a dog owner. Don't bother replying if you're the owner, I don't care.

The receptionist who answered sounded anything but friendly when he scheduled me and took down my information. Told me I needed shot records, but didn't give any other information. I was already not impressed but I decided to give them a shot anyway. (Maybe he wasn't having a great day?) Come the day of the appointment, I get to the place and the receptionist there didn't even look up at me when I walked in. She seemed pretty lack-luster. Then she asked me what I wanted done for my dog. I explained that I've never brought a dog to the groomers before because my other dogs have all had short hair. She called the groomer in and they both kept asking me "what do you want?" I don't know how I could have said "I don't know" in any other ways. I just asked for what they would recommend as my dog had matted fur and needed a clean up. It was frustrating to say the least. When you have someone who doesn't know what to ask for, it doesn't make must sense to ask her what she wants, does it? My dog is a rescue and very nervous around new people, and even though I told the staff this, they were very aggressive in trying to get her to come to them. It was so hard to get her to come, that I had to leave the leash there with them so they could lead her back with it after I left. When I picked my dog up, they let her out of the back area into the small glass lobby area with no leash or collar. Just let her run out by herself. Almost as soon as they let her out, someone else came in and my leash-less dog ran out of the door and into the parking lot. She could have been hit by a car or ran away. Any number of things! Luckily she circled back to me and I was able to grab her. Why would you just let a dog out with no leash? If I had not been in a reasonable mood, I probably would have made a bigger deal of it. I doubt I will be back because this last thing was just the clincher after an already underwhelming experience.

BEWARE***Kennel Cough Alert*** 12/10/2024 I dropped my dog off for the first time at a boarding facility here. I felt confident after speaking with the lady that works there that this would be a decent place for my furbaby. I did not have a great experience with the man that works there and to find out, he's the "General Manager". I dropped my, almost 2 y.o., dog off here from 11/30 - 12/8 as we were going on a cruise. Upon pick-up on 12/8 around 11:45am, I asked the GM how was Kingsley's stay, and he replied "good". I expected to hear more than just good as an update, but ok. As the GM brings out my baby, he is coughing and honking. I asked the GM about it and he "promised" that Kingsley wasn't sick but was pulling on his harness (not collar). I told him that in all the year(s) that I've had him, he's never made those sounds pulling on a leash. I asked him if he was sure and he stated the same thing. When I got home, Kingsley continued to cough, honk, sneeze, and try to clear his throat. Around 4pm, I called back to inform them that he's still making these sounds and there's no harness or anything on him. The GM said how it was impossible to be Kennel Cough, how they had a slow week, how there wasn't many dogs, etc. The thing is, Kingsley is unaltered, so he couldn't have the play time with other dogs anyway so it doesn't make sense. Kingsley also had soft stool with blood. I asked him if he had noticed or if any staff had noticed and he said no. This leads me to believe that they are not keeping a true watchful eye on the dogs to any degree. The GM says that him nor any of the staff heard Kingsley coughing or noticed blood in his stool. Kingsley was with them for 9 or so days and he did not arrive like that. I've never had any illnesses with him up until this point which I expressed to the GM. My rhetorical question to him was so this is Kingsley's 1st time coughing at my noon pick-up and bloody stool by 4pm and it's sudden onset?! That's ridiculous. The GM denied it and said how we couldn't prove anything without a vet's opinion as he is not one. He said after taking Kingsley to a vet, then we could have "the" conversation. On 12/9, I took Kingsley to urgent care and he, in fact, has Kennel Cough. They loved on him and prescribed him medication. I relayed the GM's messages to them to check for their medical opinion and they made it clear that it's impossible that his very first time showing signs of Kennel Cough and bloody stool was when I picked him up. I called Paws and Friends today, 12/10/24 around 5:30 pm, and confirmed the Kennel Cough to the GM. Did he apologize? No! Did he seem caring? No! His response was that Kennel Cough is not 100% preventable. I could understand that to a certain degree. My issue with him is the denial, suspected dishonesty, and the lack of accountability and customer service. I asked him if there would be any reimbursement for his medical care or even a portion of his stay, the GM said no. I feel that like paying for Kingley's vet care at the bare minimum could have righted this wrong. Quite actually, I would have been the upmost satisfied with a more transparent answer and wellness update upon pickup akin to "Hey, I'm not sure if Kingsley is ill, but we noticed this and that and we'd advise he'd be seen for these symptoms because ( ) isn't 100% preventable. But no, I received an Oh, he's just pulling on his leash, I promise he isn't sick. Oh, he just coughed once, that's not indicative of Kennel Cough. The service and treatment my family received is unacceptable and I cannot recommend Paws and Friends to anyone with pets. Also, I asked the GM if there was anyone that I could speak to besides him, a District Manager, the owner, anyone above him. Guess what, he's the end-all-be-all. In his words, the owner isn't really involved in the business. For boarding, I spent shy of $300 and for vet care, I spent about $280. **Message shortened for update space**
