Amanda is AMAZING! I would highly recommend her for any type of behavioral training your pet may need to have a happy pet, owner/family. My son's dog Bud is a sweet boy but he's strong and can be overbearing. Just a big 2 year ole puppy. He was having issues with Bud jumping, pulling and overall obedience. You couldn't pet him without him wanting to wrestle and knock you down lol! He tried his own training such as sit and stay which worked if there was no one else around or other dogs. I decided Bud needed training so he could be walked without pulling, walked around other dogs, and so everyone could be happy and active with him. The 2 week board and train, which includes the E-Collar system, was the most appealing because Bud needed undivided attention. The E-Collar is safe and humane. It sends electronic stimulation versus a shock collar. The day came for Bud's drop off and Amanda was very welcoming. We touched on Bud's needs again before leaving. The next day we received a video of day one training and Amanda experienced the Bud "Pull". Later in the video Amanda already had Bud obeying the "Sit", "Heal" and "Come" commands. Throughout the 2 weeks Bud was trained, Amanda would send us daily updates with videos of his progress. When it was time to pick him up, Amanda walked us through each command and then had us work with Bud ourselves while she overlooked and pointed out the right way of applying the commands with positive reinforcement and using the E-Collar system. We were sent home with instructions for the E-Collar, all the commands and a video on how to use and not use the E-Collar. I can honestly say the change in Bud is like night a day. It has been 3 months since my Catahoula Leopard Dog has graduated from Off Leash K-9 Training Houston class. She is a completely different dog! I took her to Off Leash K-9 Training Houston, because she would jump on everyone, bite or nip everyone, and wouldn't listen. Her excitement was off the charts! I could not enjoy her. She lived with the family, children, dogs and cats for two weeks. She learned how a good dog behaved. She trained everyday. The trainer took her to retail stores to learn to ignore other shoppers. The trainer sent me updates and videos every night to see what our pup had accomplished. Now she sits until released, does not jump on people. She doesn't nip or bite. She waits in the house with an open door, unless released outside. She waits until a visitor approaches her before she shows her affection. She walks right beside me and looks at me from time to time to be sure I am happy with the walk. She comes when called. She listens. I only have one word to describe my 6.5 month old Ridgeback's (Roc) experience with these guys....AMAZING!!!!! In the beginning, I was skeptical that a trainer would be able to work with Roc as he was very afraid of people he did not know. I signed him up for the Basic Lesson Package anyway to see if there was any hope. After the first lesson, I left feeling like I might have thrown away my money because Roc would not respond to the trainer and he kept trying to hide behind me. I decided to give it another try and went to the second lesson, there happened to be a different trainer working with him that day and we started from square one again. The second session went a little better than the first lesson, but I felt like nothing was really accomplished; not because of anything the trainer was or wasn't doing, but because I was there. Justin recommended the board and train and I agreed to give it a try. With me out of the equation, Roc had no choice but to get to know the person who would be training and taking care of him for the next two weeks. Yesterday I met OLK9 at a park to pick up Roc and get my training on how to work with him. I left the park with a huge smile on my face. I could not believe how much he learned in such a short time. On top of everything he learned, I was FINALLY able to get him to walk down the scary steel grate stairs yesterday, no more carrying him down them!!! I cannot say enough about Jason and his team. My dog was not a mean or aggressive dog, but one that would attack my cockapoo when she had seizures. It was impossible to fix on my own, even though my dog was well trained on the things you want a dog to do...come, sit, stay, place, but that was not enough. I needed to stop the aggression against my little dog when she had seizures. I spent a lot of money on other trainers, behaviorist and solutions, none of them stopped the attacks. The funny part, well not so funny, but the part that was so hard to reconcile, was my dogs were best of friends, if the little one was not having seizures. Learning how to use an electric collar and "the stop command" under Jason's expert eye allowed me to have my dogs return to normal. Now, if my little one has a seizure, 90% of the time, the larger dog just sits and looks at her, but if he moves toward her, I just give the "stop" command and he stops....immediately. (and usually without any electrical intervention) . My word is enough. I don't even have to be in the room...I can give the command from upstairs and the aggression stops. Please understand, the electric collar is not a painful device. On the setting I use all the time with my dog, I cannot even feel it when I push the stimulate button. I have taken the things I learned during my training of my "bully breed" dog and used it to make my other dogs better. You won't regret using Jason and his team...you will have a better, happier dog. No more running out the front door, no more not coming to you at a distance if they aren't on leash...going to place during dinner and not bothering you for food, not barking after you give the command....just better dogs. read more

We acquired a "lost dog" posted on our ring door bell app. Having already rescued 2 pit-bulls from various situations I couldn't bare to see this dog suffer. My husband contacted the owner of the post and was able to locate the dog. He was very fearful and injured but grew to trust my husband after some food and water. After a few days of rest we noticed he had opportunities for training. During walks he would get low to the ground and almost crawl when the wind would blow, running in a zig zag pattern. He would scream when you tried to pet him or even sit next to him ,and did not know basic obedience. Going to a vet appointment was out of the question. He was so difficult to manage especially when his anxiety takes over. The fear he had for even the smallest every day scenarios was painful to watch. I started googling dog trainers in the area being extremely selective to his needs. Off Leash K9 of Houston seemed to be a good fit. We were very skeptical at first that Off Leash K9 could help our stubborn 6 month old female American Akita, Athena. Even though she was just 6 months old, she weighed approximately 60 pounds and was pulling the leash and jumping on everyone and just being a crazy puppy. Therefore, we knew we had to get her under control before she got bigger. We signed her up for the Basic Obedience and we were extremely impressed that Amanda had our Athena coming to her in less than 15 minutes on cue. We can't stress or say enough wonderful things about Amanda. She is a superb trainer and had a confidence in training stubborn large breed puppies.Our last session was "down" and my wife was pretty sure this would be super easy for Athena since we taught her to "down" at home, but we were so wrong. Our Athena was not about to "down" and Amanda just kept at it even when our Athena was bucking her, jumping on her and snapping at her; Amanda assured us that she would eventually stop her tantrum and would "down". She further explained to us that for Athena to "down" would mean she is submitting to her and that American Akitas are not known to be a submissive type, but she assured us that she would submit. Amanda had her doing "down" in less than 30 minutes. Athena continues to thrive with her known commands and she is excited to be going with Amanda for two weeks in late July for the board and train. Hi, this is Nash's mom. He is a 7 month old OES. By nature he is smart but also hardheaded, stubborn as a toddler. We took him for one consultation session and scheduled him for boarding training right after. It has been a great experience for him and for us a stress relief too. During his 2 weeks, we got updates of his progress and I was very comfortable to know he was in good hands, and not just having fun but also being productive. I brought him back home last Thursday and in the two days he has been at home, it shows! I can now do things around the house without the 50 lbs tackle with two huge paws jumping at me every 2 seconds; he is able to stay in his place and doesn't follow me around (before I couldn't even go to the bathroom without putting him in his kennel). He comes when is being called, he can go potty and he gets back right away when I call him; he now has great door manners, doesn't run out to the door, nor runs you over to beat you at the door, he waits!. I had a construction crew hammering and drilling inside, and he was absolutely well behaved. He is a happy and balanced puppy and knows what to expect from us and what is expected from him, while he is still silly goofy Nash. We will continue practicing on walks and work on playing gently with the boys. Off Leash K9 was our savior. I had a 2.5 year old GSD who tried to attack a little dog and chased anything with wheels (lawnmowers to cars). She received plenty of exercise (30 minute leash walk in the morning and 1-1.5 hour off leash run in the open spaces in the evening EVERY DAY) so I knew it wasn't because she was bored and not getting enough exercise. Our 2 year old Samoyed completed the 2wk board & train and WOW. His behavior improved DRASTICALLY. I can confidently say that I trust my dog more. We were at a loss with our dog's need for constant attention, barking excessively when he was in the yard (neighbors actually complained), jumping up at guests, and pulling like a maniac on walks. We received daily videos (uploaded on IG) and updates on his training. At the end of his 2 wks, we did a one on one session with his trainer that went into detail about how to use the e-collar and the commands he had learned. Does he still need to keep his e-collar three weeks after training? YES. It requires that we continue the training at home for him to master it. If you can change a bad habit and make it disappear in 2 weeks, you're an angel sent from heaven to be able to do that. I highly recommend the training for anyone that is looking to improve their dog's behavior, it will improve not just their quality of life but yours as well. My one year old GoldenDoodle Chester just came home from a 2 week board and train session with Off Leash K9 Training. Monica was his trainer and I couldn't be more pleased with his progress. Our doodle was already a wonderful boy, but had some serious manor issues. He learned so quickly and he has made tremendous progress. I have always wanted to own a really well trained dog. As with all training, the owner will have to continue to reinforce the training when they get home. This is so easy to do because off leash gives you wonderful tools to use. I did a ton of research looking for the best available training I could get for my deaf Australian Shepard. I am so glad I found OLK9 training. I decided to do the 2 week board and train. i Couldn't ask for a better trainer than Amanda. After having some apprehension about leaving my 9 month girl with someone else for the first Time. Amanda answered any questions I had before training and when I dropped my girl off. I think I'm the one that had the separation anxiety. Amanda updated me every day with videos and pictures. We interviewed several dog training companies in Houston after rescuing our 5 year old pit mix Popeye from the shelter. He came to us without many manners (putting his feet up on the counter tops, jumping over baby gates, jumping on furniture and coffee tables). He also was a strong leash puller, would lunge at other dogs and was a bully with our smaller, older dog. We debated whether or not we should keep him and if he'd be better off in a home without another pet, but we wanted to try and make it work. I used Off Leash Canine Training to work with me and my German Shepherd/Border Collie. He was almost impossible to walk because he gets hyper excited and aggressive when he sees other dogs. We did basic training and also worked on his aggression problem. The basic training was amazing, he follows commands now SO well - my friends and family are amazed at how well behaved he is. He also is much more controllable when we walk, although he's not 100% non-reactive yet. I plan to do additional training with Off Leash to focus more on his aggression on walks (Quarantine has delayed this but I definitely will go forward soon). Many people criticize use of the e-collar but I can say it is extremely helpful for dogs who "flip a switch" and completely stop focusing on you when they see other dogs. You can moderate the level you use. And it did not take long before I found that all I needed to get his attention was to use the vibration function. Off Leash is very effective and totally worth the investment as long as you put in the work with your dog to reinforce what they teach you. read more
