    Happy training with Sammye!
    Torrey Q.

We were matched with Sammye for our Silver Package Training, which was a very affordable (5) session plan that was truly customized for our needs. Sammye was an absolutely amazing and knowledgeable trainer, she confidently addressed several of our goals and we couldn't be happier. We are a three dog household, and we had started to feel overwhelmed with barking at our guests, bolting out the door, and general over excitement. We have seen a 180 flip in their behavior. Sammye helped teach us how to manage our dogs during guest entry, and now our digs sit calmly in a crate upon guest entry and the entire experience is amazing! We couldn't be happier with Sammye as our trainer and Karma as a company!

I have nothing but good things to say about Karma! I have a 5 month old Aussie puppy named Ollie and Karma has really set us up to succeed. The puppy kindergarten classes are an amazing way to get new puppies socialized and started on the path to being a really well trained dog! I also did a week of boarding and training with James Clay while I was on vacation and that was AMAZING! Ollie had so much fun but the most important part was that James communicated constantly with me while I was away. I still go back and rewatch the training videos he sent me to reinforce all the good skills he taught Ollie. It was such an amazing experience and I would send Ollie back to James in a heartbeat. My Aussie can be stubborn, but James did an amazing job with him!

Karina has a natural calm that she skillfully passes on to her trainees - that includes both pups and parents. Our puppy Maurice was a real handful with boundless energy and a very strong will. He needed some serious training and we needed guidance on helping him get on track. Karina took over and turned our little monster into a sweet dog and family member. He still has his moments - he is a puppy - but, wow, what a difference for us all. I've already recommended Karina to people in need of puppy trining and they are very pleased. karina is a jewel. She was so nice with Maurice but never let up. She got great results and we now have a great dog.

I'm so glad I did my research and found Karma Dog Training. My Zeus was partnered with Karina for a week of Board and Train. Zeus went from being a crazy, hard to manage Shepard, to a listening, workable, calmer dog. I was shocked at how different Zeus was when I got him back. He learned so much and so did I. Karina sent me videos while he was gone. This helped me understand what and how she was training him. She also came to my home and did a handoff and taught me how to keep the training going. I'm so glad I sent Zeus to Karma!

A coworker recommended Karma Dog Training to me. At first I wasn't so sure if I wanted to proceed because of the website, but I'm so glad that I followed through. Mayra Luna was my puppy trainer, and she was very helpful and patience with us. My 3 month old dachshund puppy, Yoshi, was so anxious around strangers and going on walks, also he had a tendency to be stubborn. Now he is a whole new little man after I did 1 week of board and training with Mayra! He's confident on walks, doesn't bark at strangers, and knows so many helpful commands. Also Yoshi has been enjoying the weekly Puppy Kindergarten classes. I highly recommend Karma Dog Training!

    Breaux @ 5 months, practicing sit & stay :)

We signed up our very newly adopted 4 month old puppy Breaux for Karma's puppy kindergarten and had a FANTASTIC experience! The class was held at Carlisle's on Sunday afternoons and was split into small, medium, and large dog sessions. They offer 1 free class, which was great for making sure the 7 week class is for you. Their focus is positive training, using treats and praise, and gentle (voice only) corrections. Side note: Before I found Karma, I called another daycare/boarding/training business, whose classes were significantly more expensive, and was told that 4 months was too old to start kindergarten, so choosing Karma was really easy. There were 2 trainers (Ashley and Brooke) for 2-7 puppies+owners, so there was lots of individual attention. Both trainers were welcoming, extremely knowledgeable, they clearly loved dogs, and all the puppies loved them. Each class felt casual but was structured with socialization/playtime, learning/practicing 1 new skill, and then downtime for petting/desensitizing paws. What I found most helpful was that Brooke and Ashley asked if we had questions throughout class and saved time for questions/discussions at the end of each class. I probably asked 5-10 random dog questions (usually unrelated to what we were doing that day) each class, and got a ton of great tips, as they were so willing to talk about any issue or question and share their knowledge/expertise. After completing all 7 sessions, our friends/family are super impressed with his good behavior, attention, and skills, I feel more confident with Breaux, and we've formed a great foundation of training. Bottom line: HIGHLY recommend Karma!

On Sansa'a puppy class graduation day!
    Lisa H.

We are super happy we found Karma dog training! We researched around and signed up for puppy classes even before we picked up Sansa. The puppy group session was perfect for her to learn something new each week and to have a little time to socialize with other puppies. If we happened to miss a class we were able to make it up since the lessons were on a 7 week rotation schedule. The facility itself is on the small side and I wished there was a patch of grass in the back for Sansa to pee on (we usually go across the street after class). All the trainers are amazing! We can tell they care a lot about the puppies and they're big on positive teaching methods. Each week we learned a ton, not just about the week's lesson, but the trainers also gave a wealth of information about anything else the group had questions on. We really want to thank Ashley, Brooke, and Marcella, they've been a huge help with Sansa's growth into a good canine citizen and they're the reason she looked forward to going to class every week.

I recently left my labradoodle pup, Nala, with James for the Board and Train program and I am very impressed with the experience. Throughout his time with Nala, James was sending me multiple video updates per day with training strategies personalized towards our specific goals - each of these videos were extremely helpful for future training at home. After bringing Nala home, she had much better impulse control and independence, two things that were top priorities for us. I would not hesitate to recommend James (and Karma Dog Training) to anyone that needs board and training for their dog during an extended absence. EDIT: I am editing my review to also speak on my experience with Katie in the Puppy Kindergarten class as well as an in-home training session. I have been taking Nala to Katie's kindergarten class since she was 8-weeks old (16 now) and it has been instrumental for her development. Katie has a deep understanding of dog behavior and is clearly very passionate about helping us dog owners foster a strong bond and a positive home environment for the family. She has made herself available as a resource outside of class/session time, and I am so appreciative of everything that she has done for us.

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.

I told him I'd already done my research and was speaking to a couple of breeders outside Texas and that everyone in Texas does not have any puppies available in the near future. After 2 phone calls, Dean - with his big vibrato, told me he would help me search and find me a puppy for $300 (which would include locating a puppy and a first kennel training session once the puppy is home.) after I paid the $ he went quiet. I only heard from him 1 more time - when I CALLED HIM a week later to ask about any progress. He told me he emailed the 2 breeders I was already in touch with and he had asked around Texas and that there are no puppies available in the near future ( which I had already TOLD HIM.) I contacted the 2 breeders he said he emailed (mostly because I didn't know what he would say and worried his bold personality might be off putting) and they both said they had NOT received any communication from him, at all. So, I gave it a few weeks and decided to text Dean a polite professional text asking for the return of my $300 since he did not in fact do anything. .... His reply... NOTHING ... so I resent the text and called his # and left a message a few days later ... NO REPLY. Dean just ghosted me after he swindled me out of $300. Bad business person, aggressive personality, con man. I do not recommend Dean or Club Canine

Animal control officers showed up right as the new owner was about to kill Emma and her last remaining sister. They took Emma and her sister to their outdoor no kill shelter where she stayed for 8 months. Because of Emma's trauma and her isolation at the shelter, she had a lot of fear issues when we adopted her. Her first night with us was her first time being in a house since the one she was abandoned in. It was hard getting her through doorways because she had a lot of fear. We decided to call Beyond the Dog right away. Lindsey came and spent a lot of time working with her. It took a week for Emma to let her get near her. Lindsey was very dedicated to winning her over. She was so patient and wonderful with her. Emma came out of her shell and Lindsey was able to work with her on basic commands and on getting her out around people. Emma built a strong bond with Lindsey and was excited by Lindsey's visits and even gave her kisses. One of my big worries with Emma was getting her to a vet and letting them give her shots. At the beginning, I could not see how that would have been possible. She had a lot of trust issues. She was very fearful of men (even my dad). Lindsey worked on socializing her and getting her out in public around people. At the end of the training program, Lindsey came with us to the vet and we got to watch Emma get shots from the vet. Our vet was even very impressed by Lindsey and the Beyond the Dog. Now that Emma is finished with training, she has a lot of confidence and even goes up to people. Lindsey truly trains with love. We are very thankful for all her time and effort with Emma.

The staff was tremendously compassionate, helpful and comforting to me as I faced my dog's final day. I was referred to VEG by my dog's vet. We arrived to continue her care after her vet closed for the day. As soon as I walked in carrying my blanket covered baby, they led me into their open concept care area. There were maybe a dozen or so examination tables and several kennels along the walls and there's also, I think, two surgery rooms and a couple of dimly lit rooms for saying goodbye. Clients see what's going on with every pet at the different examination tables. Sadly I witnessed a dog die after the staff tried giving it chest compressions for what felt like forever. They really seemed to try and give it their all. It was the saddest thing to witness, especially knowing my dog was likely headed in that same direction. I lost it and cried. One of the many bouts of tears I had that day. Unlike the exam tables, the surgery and goodbye rooms are private. Dr. Burbano and staff examined my dog to see if there was anything they could do and they gave me my options and the corresponding prices. The price went up the longer they cared for my dog. I could leave her there for 24 hours, 12, 8, 4 etc and I could stay with her the whole time. I could tell there wouldn't be any progress if I left her there longer so I ended up leaving her for 8-10 hrs, enough time for progress to hopefully be made but not so long as to avoid the inevitable and to have an unnecessarily high bill. After hours on the exam table they moved her to a kennel. From the kennel she was moved to a dimly lit room where I held her in my arms for hours and said my goodbyes as she was hooked up to an IV. While in the room, a staff member went over end of life options with me, private or group cremation, different urns etc. Paying for everything was very convenient. They texted me the itemized pricing for both my dog's car and end of life options and you pay from your phone, never having to leave your pet's side. My dog's cremated remains and end of life items where delivered to my home I believe a week or two later. The postal worker ( not a VEG employee) was also kind and compassionate during the delivery. I loved how caring the VEG staff was, how well they explained everything, and that they were very understanding and didn't rush me at all. I greatly appreciate my dog's veterinarian referring me to VEG and I would highly recommend them to anyone experiencing a pet emergency or saying goodbye to their precious furry one.

I brought our dog Ramsey in at 8am as he had suddenly been vomiting overnight, panting heavily, walking kind of wobbly and eventually could barely stand up on his own. As soon as I carried him in, the receptionist saw the urgency and called the entire team to attend to him. They immediately took him to the examination table and started running their tests. Dr. Cara Taylor pulled me to the side and unfortunately informed me that she believed a hidden tumor on his spleen had ruptured and he was leaking blood into his stomach, and she basically believed it to be a case of hemangiosarcoma and that his outlook wasn't good based on her experience. She gave me the news quite confidently and professionally which I really appreciated even though it was the most heartbreaking thing to hear. The team of 3-4 techs/vets proceeded to perform X-rays and draw his blood in order to inject it back into him to keep him stabilized. My wife eventually came and we were presented with the decision of surgery to remove his spleen. Dr. Taylor was very honest and open about the financial cost and the multiple outcomes that could occur and the probability of each happening. She made it clear that even if the surgery was successful it may only buy him a few more months depending on the severity of the cancer spread. She informed us that the tumor could even be benign, but did not mislead us in any way and said it would maybe be 10-20% chance of that happening. She also made sure we understood that there was even a high chance that due to his instability that he could even bleed out, or if mid-surgery she sees that the cancer has spread too far, that they would advise us that they would likely discontinue the process because at that point, it'd be too late to save him. She made us feel very comfortable that whatever we decided to do was absolutely reasonable and understandable given the situation, and never once pressured us into one way or the other. We made the call to proceed with the surgery knowing his odds were low and the financial cost was high, because we wanted to give our baby boy a chance to pull through with no regrets. Because it was such a sudden unexpected event, we were not prepared to say goodbye that day and wanted to bring him home, even with a shortened timeline after. Each step of the way, the staff made us feel so very comfortable, with compassion and attentiveness, offering us space for us to keep physical contact with our boy, kept him warm with blankets, cleaned up his messes that he made under stress and medication assuring us that it's no big deal and promptly cleaned it up. They treated Ramsey as if he were their own pet and we really felt like they truly cared and were doing all they could to comfort and save him. Unfortunately, after all was said and done, his heart could not endure the surgery and stopped beating, and attempts to resuscitate him were not successful. They led us to the private room and took the time to patch him back up so that we could say our goodbyes. They let us take all the time we need as we had a few friends and family nearby come say goodbye as well. We discussed the itemized bill, adjusted for procedures and meds that were not performed since Ramsey didn't make it that far, and they explained the cremation options thoroughly. And they made sure to inform us of the multiple payment options and third party plans as well. At the end of the day, it was the worst day of our lives, but the incredible staff made it the best experience that it could be for us. The entire team was extremely attentive and we knew they were doing all that they could, because we were there in person to witness first hand every procedure with our own eyes and ears, staying within Ramsey's sight and talking to him and petting him to provide comfort. Unfortunately I did not grab everyone's names, but special shoutout to Dr. Taylor and Elise. Elise even shed tears with us, that's how much she cared. Another vet with a bit of green in her hair, she was also amazing. She personally kept air flowing to his mouth and had his head elevated with her own arms, it was very endearing. Thank you team VEG for all that you did. The outcome was devastating, but you helped make us feel very content that we did the right thing, and nurtured us every step of the way. We are still grieving tremendously but we couldn't have asked for a better team to be by Ramsey's side on his last day before crossing the rainbow bridge.
