Mr. Kevin Baskin and Gia (Lagotto Romagnolo) trained by Mr. Emmanuel Kangah
    Catrina B.

Thank you so much Mr. Emmanuel Kangah. You have truly changed our behavior towards dogs and made my Gia (Lagotto Romagnolo) the best addition to our family! We got Gia at 2 months and had no idea how to teach or train our Italian love to be our perfect pet. With so many training methods and programs, we did try several, but wasn't getting the results we wanted. Once we found Lorenzo's Dog Training Team, Emmanuel came to our home and the very first meeting we were signing up. His honesty and passion for dogs was evident and he had such a great attitude and vibe; we were excited to put in the work! We learned so much from him and the changes we seen in Gia made our work much easier. Gia is now 1 year and she's my perfect angel! We are forever grateful to you Emmanuel. Thank you again and we will definitely stay in touch!

    Enzo's Graduation Day!!!

If I could give 6 stars to this training I would!! Emmanuel and Bri served as my dedicated trainers throughout the entire 4 1/2-month training period for my lively Springer Spaniel, Enzo. Given Enzo's high-energy breed and historical reputation as a bird dog, I recognized the necessity of professional training from the moment I brought him home. Initially, we experimented with treat-based training methods. However, witnessing the effective approach that Emmanuel employs with dogs has firmly convinced me that I will never advocate for treat-based training again. This type of training revolves around fostering mutual respect and effective communication between you and your dog--something that dogs motivated by treats will NEVER give you! I cannot emphasize enough how strongly I recommend this training, despite its somewhat higher cost; it unquestionably delivers exceptional value. Emmanuel's approach entails equipping you with the necessary training tools to effectively work with your dog throughout the week until the subsequent session. Thanks to this training, Enzo now attentively responds to my commands. I can confidently walk with him off-leash, summon him even in distracting environments, and expect him to remain in a designated spot for over an hour. Please DO NOT squander your resources seeking a more budget-friendly treat-based trainer like Pet-co/pet smart etc., as the results will likely be short-lived, and it's true that you indeed get what you pay for in this regard. Thank you Emmanuel and Bri!

Emmanuel (trainer) on the left. Kuma after "graduating". Us walking Kuma at a mall and him being a good boy the entire time!

On the first day of meeting Emmanuel (trainer), he already had Kuma following commands even though it was just an evaluation. It really brought tears to my eyes because what would have taken me plenty of times to have Kuma follow a command, took Emmanuel only once. We (my husband and I) went through weeks of learning and practicing with Kuma. The entire time, Emmanuel was down to earth, patient, and very helpful. His instructions were clear and organized and he adapted to whatever situations happened. Here's a back story of our dog Kuma. Kuma then was a 1.5 year old German Shepherd mix at 80lbs. He's a big guy, definitely alpha, excitable, and likes to protect his boundaries. When other dogs come by, he tends to lunge at them because he wants to play--which in turn scares people and dogs around him. He loved to play keep away when it was time to sleep or time to go home. We've had instances where he zoomed out of the door and onto the street with cars driving by. Kuma after the training: I'm able to walk Kuma without him pulling the leash. He now stays by my side. I can even walk him WITHOUT a leash and it is amazing! He listens to commands on the first try. He will sit/lay down and stay when told. So much of him has changed. When other dogs pass by, they can bark at him all they want and Kuma will not pay them attention. He still has a goofy personality but when we need him to follow a command, he definitely does it. I firmly believe in Lorenzo's Dog Training Team's values and services. I can now bring my dog out with confidence and enjoy having him around without a worry. Update: it's been 3 years and Kuma is just as obedient. Everyone has been impressed with his obedience. I can leave him in a spot and he won't move until I tell him to do so.

So happy with the change of Archer! Emmanuel brings his dogs too for some training sessions as well.
    Kimberly L.

We adopted our pit bull (Archer) a couple of months ago! He was pulling on the leash, jumping on people, biting our carpet, biting our dining room table and lunging when seeing other dogs while walking with him. It became a stressful workout every time we walked him because he is so strong and pulled where he wanted to go. It was hard to even walk down the street because he would be locked in on every dog he sees walking, which made us constantly on the lookout to make sure we avoid any interaction with other dogs in the area. We wanted to make sure he had proper training since he is already 1 year old, and we didn't know what training he had before hand. I found Lorenzo's dog training on Yelp and was sold by the reviews! Many of the reviews had similar situations to Archer. I was so excited to see how many dogs were transformed from Emmanuel. I called to schedule an evaluation after seeing the success stories! We did an evaluation with Emmanuel and within the first mins of Emmanuel working with him. Archer was a brand new dog. Emmanuel not only trained Archer but trained my boyfriend and myself how to train Archer. This training isn't only for the dog, it's for the owners as well. My boyfriend and I have both previously had dogs separately so we each had different methods of training. Emmanuel would break down all the lessons with Archer and than we would be working with him as well. Lorenzo's methods of training is intensive and each lesson flows into what your dog learns next seamlessly. We just finished training today, we went to Petco & Oakridge as a final test! We thought Emmanuel was joking when he said we would meet at a Petco for distraction training but Archer did an amazing job not looking at dogs or reacting to face to face contact, barking, or other dogs sniffing him! Archer was not stepping in front of us or pulling. He was right by our side the whole time and didn't care about other dogs around us! Overall, Archer's behavior did a complete 180 after taking him to Lorenzo's and working with Emmanuel. We are so thankful for Emmanuel being patient and flexible with us when we couldn't make scheduled training sessions. If you are looking for a trainer and in the Bay Area, I would highly recommend Emmanuel!

When I got Teddy from a shelter, he knew no commands and was rather aggressive towards me and uncontrollable. I was fearful of him and didn't know I could keep him. Several training facilities didn't want to take Teddy because of his aggression, but then I found Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. They had confidence in Teddy and agreed to help us. I did the 4 week boarding program with Emmanuel as the trainer. Emmanuel changed Teddy's life and mine! Teddy came home a new dog. His behavior has made a 180 change thanks to Emmanuel. He can now sit, lay down, stay, come, potty on command, is kennel trained, understands 'no' can ride in the car on the floor and stay there, and more. I would highly recommend this trainer and this team for anyone out there looking for a reliable, honest, effective program for their dog!

Less than 2 months ago we thought Brieanna & Emmanuel were crazy telling us our 6 month old puppy would be off leash trained by this time - it turns out they were right. The 2 of them came to our house and over the course of several sessions, our puppy went from knowing almost nothing to a dog that we can comfortably take anywhere in public and not have to worry about how she will behave. Brie and Emmanuel were professional, always on time and never made us feel rushed as first time puppy parents. This training was a great investment and we'd recommend it to anyone!

Oliver graduated today! Thank you Emmanuel!
    Melissa M.

I had a handsome French Bulldog, Oliver-- who loved me but struggled to tolerate anyone else in my life. Finally I decided I needed to do something about it. I started with Yelp! I read a lot of positive reviews about a trainer named Emmanuel with Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. So I called and set up a consultation. Literally from the 1st visit Oliver was a better dog. Emmanuel has a calm but strong presence and Oliver reacted positively immediately. Since Oliver has been transformed. He is now a pleasure to be around. He is able to interact with other people and dogs like a gentleman. He gets to go to restaurants and other adventures since he is so well behaved. I highly recommend Emmanuel he goes above and beyond what you would expect. He was an excellent trainer for both me and Oliver. Don't put it off....get your fog trained! You will not regret it!

Best Christmas Gift Ever! Emmanuel Kangah changed our lives. Anxiety levels down and confidence levels up. Unbelievable distractions at the mall days before Christmas didn't faze Keno. She passed with flying colors.

    Evie training in public places
    Laura S.

We are so pleased with the training results after working with Emmanuel. His services came recommended from our neighbor when we got Evie, an Australian Shepard. Evie was friendly, high energy, and rather disobedient as a puppy. We worked with Emmanuel over a few months, including a week away with Emmanuel. Today at two years old, Evie runs 100+ miles with us each month off leash! She is also great next to a bike or a skateboard. She always looks to us for instruction/reinforcement. She is still a fun, happy dog, but we have control over her behavior. Working with Emmanuel was such a great investment!! We highly recommend!

Emmanuel speaks dog. No more pulling like a sled dog, no more jumping on people. I can now walk my dog offleash past other dogs, people, cars, etc and he's right by my side. When we drive he lays on the floor and when I speak to him we listen. And best of all he's still allowed to be a dog and Im still allowed to be his human dad. If you want a happy obedient dog, Emmanual is your guy.

Bruce's final day training with Emmanuel!
    Susan M.

Emmanuel has done an amazing job with our dog Bruce. We had picked him up at an animal shelter and this dog was high anxiety, biting, jumping and all around had bad manners. After a few days we thought we had made a mistake bringing him home and contemplated bringing him back to the shelter. He was a terror to the rest of the family and other cats and dog in our home and out of control on walks out to the park. My husband immediately reached out and scheduled an appointment with Lorenzo's Dog Training Team and requested specifically for Emmanuel as he was a referral from a local friend of ours. In the first session, Emmanuel already had our dog behaving better and acting less aggressive. Emmanuel invested a lot of time into training Bruce and our family to handle commands and keep our 2 year old dog safe and happy. Fast forward 2 weeks later and our dog is able to follow basic commands, no longer biting and jumping, and peaceful at home with our family and pets. He even helped us to build confidence in ourselves to handle Bruce and I am no longer afraid of him. We now have the correct tools and education to continue to work with our dog to keep him trained, safe, and happy. Thank you Emmanuel! Your patience, calmness, and knowledge helped us to create a stronger bond with this dog.

This is the success that came from a long way. Down stay position for more than 5 minutes. Husky tend to run away. Thank you Emmanuel!

After several training inquiries with multiple companies, I immediately heard back from Karma, and a call with the owner was set up. He asked me all about Juice and explained the options he thought would be best. After deciding on "board and train" he said he thought he had the perfect person in mind and they would reach out soon. A couple days later I received correspondence from Sammye Darling, a trainer for Karma, who wanted to set up a call to talk about Juice. During our call she was very confident that she would be able to help with teaching him basic obedience and jumping. We settled on a 10 day timeframe with the expectation that it would be imperative to continue the training ourselves afterwards. (She would've preferred 14 days because that last few days is really when the training sinks in but I assured her we would stay on it) Scheduling was easy and convenient while we went out of town on vacation. Sammye was warm, gentle, and friendly upon dropping Juice off with her and I trusted her immediately. She stayed in constant communication with us, sending pictures, and updates on his progress. He took some time, he's stubborn, but eventually she saw the switch and said he was doing great! I missed him so much but knew he was in good hands with Sammye. Fast forward 10 days later and the day came to pick him up and I couldn't wait to see him. I'll spare you all the details of baby talk, kisses, hugs, etc. but it was a joyous reunion that had us in awe of the things he had learned. We spent about an hour there learning the commands, how to reward them, and practicing before heading home. She worked wonders and we were so excited to go home and continue the work. Before leaving we scheduled our follow up in person training session for a couple weeks out so Sammye could come see him in his own environment and see if we actually kept up with the training which we did! He is doing great! No, he's not perfect and we're still working on certain things but he's a different dog in many aspects. He has a "place" for when we're eating and now does it without asking and gets "off" the bed when it's time (he's too big to sleep with us) so he has his own. Those are two giant wins for us and we can't thank Sammye enough! He learned so much more and we continue to work with him everyday. Karma was professional and quick to respond which is always something I appreciate. Sammye, our trainer, was a delight who was professional, caring, thoughtful, hard-working, and made Juice feel right at home (in her own home) while teaching him some manners. I can't recommend her enough! Juice definitely missed her and was so excited to see her when she came over which further solidified how amazing she was. Call Karma and ask for Sammye as your trainer. You won't regret it!

Judge for yourself if the injuries are scratches or bite marks and if a dog is physically able to scratch itself on the inside of its ear. They are very clearly puncture wounds to us and our vet. --------------------------------------- Dropped off our blind dog 11.24.2025 at roughly 3pm. The morning of 11.28.2025 we received a message that his ear had been bleeding and they believed it was from scratching so they provided him with the expected medical care. Afternoon of 11.29.2025 they told us he was "shaking". My wife was able to pick him up early and take him to the emergency vet (Saturday evening and regular vet closed) who shaved and treated the area and gave him antibiotics. We did follow-up with our regular vet and they determined that the injuries were puncture wounds from a dog attack. When we told them Fur Paws said the injuries were from him scratching himself they looked at us like we had just told them 1 + 1 = 3. In spite of the records we provided from the vet showing his treatment history and their diagnosis of "dog bite wounds and vestibular disease" Fur Paws claims he arrived there with some condition that led to him scratching himself (on the inside of his ear too!). He arrived 11.24, they noticed wounds 11.28, and by the afternoon of 11.29 he was shaking so he had a fever. It takes 24-72 hours for infection and then a fever to occur so one can do the math on their claim that he arrived with an ailment already. Then you add in that these are clearly not scratch marks and you see that they're questioning our intelligence with their explanation. Send your dog here at your own risk.

Unfortunately, I don't feel that learning curves covers how I picked him up on Tuesday. I chose this place through referral, and also customer review. My gal never had any issues utilizing this place previously. They have a good location, and their cost isn't too bad considering where it is. I had him in for 4 nights, and provided the food. and some treats. First recognition. I did get an email about him having stomach issues and diarrhea. I appreciate that notification. When I arrived to pick him up, I was waiting in the front and there was a lady (not sure if she's a manager or owner), and we chatted about his stay. She mentioned he was behaving a bit more aggressively and bullying a bit, and had to be kept from some of the other dogs. That, I completely understand. He's a big boi for a two year old, and we're still working on training some of those habits out. Fights and injuries were not mentioned. When they brought him out, he had marks on the bridge of his nose and his lip. This was not reported to me, and when I asked they said it may have been due to him being anxious in his cage. Except that they were not rubbing wounds, they are four puncture wounds. He also smelled atrociously, and required an immediate bath. He had brown stains on his legs and hind quarters. This man would not sit in his own stool unless he had to. If it wasn't his own, then the cage wasn't clean. And his breath smelled just as bad as what I had to wash off of him. If he wasn't allowed out with others, and was given his normal diet, his breath shouldn't have deteriorated to such a degree. When he came out of the door, he wasn't excited, he was fearful. While separation can be a traumatic experience, this wasn't that kind of emotion. We've been separated for weeks before, I know what that is like. Even after two days since pickup, he still not quite right after this experience. From a logical perspective of baseline customer service: 1. If my dog is bleeding from his face, you need to report it to me. 2. He shouldn't be covered in feces. 3. With my original inquiry, I and was told what may have happened. That doesn't work well for me. If he was separated, in a controlled environment, we should know exactly what happened. And no one should be covered in feces. Follow Up - I wrote to the facility, and they responded quickly both times. They apologized for his condition, and that protocol was not followed. Though it doesn't change my experience, I appreciate that. They were also nice enough to offer a credit, and grooming. Things aren't always perfect, I get it. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

As it became revealed, the philosophy was misrepresented. The positivity was not evident in training. It was not cruel, but it was not positive. My wife inquired about what positive would be. She was told he would deal with that later. Never happened. The trainer was pleasant enough, though. By the end of the lesson, why didn't we say anything and decline to pay. First, we didn't know that was when we had to mention it, and the only time, despite what Pat (our trainer) may claim he said. Second, we were so overwhelmed with information and parts of training we were still wondering about, as they had not been addressed, we were sort of mentally "floating" by the end of session. U strongly suggest, given this franchisee's "guarantee," that you do noy pay, and give yourself a chance to think about what you experienced in the training (BTW, this arrangement for the dissatisfied paying/or not by the very end of the training session or not is not a company-wide one. Third, payment is an almost automatic response to pay for a person's labors when the job is done. When we asked for a refund, we were told we had passed the deadline and couldn't get one. I strongly suggest. If you want to consider Bark Busters, particularly the franchisee we had train us, make that you feel comfortable and informed of how the training will be presented and its content. I cannot speak for all trainers, but Pat made statements that weren't kept, did not disclose methods and philosophy beforehand, and only (not enough to make an informed decision) the day prior to the session did we get anything that told us some of the content of the program. The training was incomplete, ineffective, showed no promise, despite the claim of the million dogs that allegedly have trained by this company. However, I cannot make a judgement on the parent company, but only on the way this franchisee presented the material and the way he ran his franchise, and my experience.
