Candy & Jason are unmatched in their canine knowledge, experience, and commitment. Relocating to Houston about a year and half ago for a job with constant travel, I was frantic to re-establish care providers for my dog, Ruby. Ruby is a rescued 4-5 year old Plott Hound Mix (hunting breed), about 65 pounds. Over the past few years, Ruby and I have worked through countless behavioral issues- potty training, separation anxiety, aggression, fear and- of course- leash manners. Having made much progress and having gone through countless (untrained and unprofessional) caregivers and walkers- I was terrified of using a service that would allow her to regress behaviorally, or worse- put Ruby in a situation she shouldn't be. I looked at countless daycare services and was left feeling unimpressed and hopeless. Some had breed restrictions, some would have her kenneled for the majority of the day, and others, frankly, did not seem to provide appropriate levels of supervision. Likewise, too many of the dog walking services I looked in to had inconsistent and untrained walkers. Inconsistency (e.g. different walkers on different days) can result in confusion for the dog and variable handling, and limited training can result in unsafe situations for both dog and walker. Never a worry with Candy and Jason. Initially, Candy came over for a meet-and-greet to evaluate Ruby (and vice versa) and discuss how we could best work together. I knew I found a legitimate service provider when Candy explained that it needed to be a fit for both of them - in my opinion, a good canine caregiver will recognize when it is it not a good fit, for whatever reason, and be willing to politely decline the customer. Candy was beyond patient in hearing my concerns, learning about Ruby's history, understanding the requirements in handling her, and discussing our own working relationship. Since then, Candy and Jason have provided Ruby with one or two 30 minute walks a day. Bringing years of experience to the end of the leash, their compassion and care allow me to leave the house- for a long day or a full week of travel- calmly and with confidence that Ruby is well taken care of. Candy and Jason provide Ruby with the mental and physical stimulation she needs during the day- thoroughly and safely exercising her while maintaining established means of training. Notes of behavior and eliminations are left after each walk and text messages (usually with pictures!) let me know walks have been executed with status updates. Candy and Jason are generous with both their time and consideration- working their hardest to accommodate last minute requests and going above and beyond to make sure all is well for dog and owner. Candy and Jason have been walking my dog for the past 3 months when I travel. To say they, and their team, are anything less than fabulous is an understatement. They always make time to take care of my dog, Rouxster, even if they already have a full schedule. Before taking my dog on as a client, Candy came to my house and played with my dog for a solid 30 minutes. She even worked on some behavior tools for my dog. I could tell immediately that my dog was comfortable with Candy. My dog is not dog. She's grumpy and stubborn and protective of my house. Candy and Jason are so inviting, Roux welcomed them right in. After one "incident" with my dog being difficult, Candy called me immediately, explained what happened and helped remediate the issue easily (knowing she could have walked away immediately and blamed Rouxster for just being a bad dog). Candy always comes on time, gives Roux a long walk an loves on her. As they are walking, Candy often takes pictures and sends them to me. She give s a full report on the walk (including potty events) and gives Rouxster a treat before leaving (per my request). The absolute biggest compliment I can give Candy and Leash Pet Sitters is a recent event that happened. A 5-alarm fire broke out across the street from my house, and my entire block was evacuated...all while I was at work. The first call I received was from Candy asking if she could go get Rouxster. Candy raced over to my house amid road closures, traffic and a giant fire. She was willing to put herself in danger to save my dog. That is impressive! After things had settled, I discovered that her husband Jason had found out about the fire, called Candy and made the comment to Candy, "Are we going to get Roux?". That makes me know that Rouxster is in good hands and that they truly care about more than just making sure my dog goes potty. They care about making Rouxster happy and comfortable when I am away. Another awesome story about Candy and Jason was when I was going away for a weekend and they were coming to walk Rouxster. Rouxster got an upset tummy and had bad diarrhea. Candy took care of my pooch, coming over more than the number of times I requested her to walk Roux to make sure she was OK. Candy also made Rouxster some rice to settle her tummy. On top of all this, Candy spent the time trying to clean my dogs messes out of my carpet - that is going above and beyond the call of duty. I trust the Leash Pet Sitter Team with my dog which is about as high of praise you can receive from me. All I can do is say thank you to the team for giving me the peace of mind that my dog is safe and cared for while I'm away. When looking for a dog walker, the most important qualities to me were someone who was trustworthy (because they will be in my home) and a person who was patient & gentle with my pet. Candy exemplified all of these qualities + many more. She truly loves all animals and cares for your pet as if it were her own! I can never thank Candy enough for helping me through my pet's ER visit after he ate a piece of metal and required surgery. I had no idea what to do (it's my first pet) and immediately called her for her advice. She knew exactly where I should take him and what procedure needed to be done. I had been in Houston about a year when I decided I needed a pet sitter. I am a veterinarian and taking my dogs to work with me is easy and convenient, but I decided I did not want them to board for a long period of time when I was on vacation. I thought they would be more comfortable in their own house on their own bed. I got a referral from my groomer. I called Candy the same day and set up a meet and greet. Candy was right on time and I was shocked at the level of detail she required. I have a busy house with 2 dogs and 2 cats and it can be overwhelming to the under-trained person. My first time away with Candy watching them I was going to be gone for nearly 3 weeks. Even with all of the details previously discussed I still left a novel worth of information. Candy, Jason, and LEASH Pet Sitters have been the most wonderful, professional, and service-oriented business I could associate with. They have helped me short-notice with my schedule that has changed many times. They have done upto 9 day stints of pet sitting and visit several times a day. My dogs are high energy, special needs, eat a raw diet, and are regular clients of LEASH. Leash Pet Sitters is the best pet sitter company in the inner loop of Houston! When my sweet Noel was still with us, Candy walked and looked after her everyday while I was at work. I never doubted my dog was in the best care, as Candy would send me sweet pics of Noel playing or resting, after a long walk; along with an update with anything I might need to know. I've used other pet sitters, but they didn't seem to care as much about the animals or my relationship with my pet. Sometimes, I even wondered if they even walked Noel at all! But because of the pics and updates, I knew Candy was doing her best to take care of my Noel. Those of us who love our pets like family, know it can be hard to trust a stranger to look after a cherished family member. I can't recommend Candy and Jason with more enthusiasm. I called them on the recommendation of a doggie daycare in my area after I rescued an 8 month old 50-lb dog from the side of the road with no idea how to manage him with my work schedule They helped train him and me. He was crewing shoes, wouldn't walk on a leash and refused to get into his crate. They were flexible with my work and school schedule, helped me figure out a schedule that included home walks and doggie daycare AND coached me on the phone every Sunday night while we found the right mix of home and offsite care. When my dog came down with kennel cough, they quickly revised their schedule to accommodate mine so that Barkley had care at home instead of day care as we'd scheduled. Soon after taking us on a clients, they even brought us the perfect doggie bed. They really are dog lovers with five rescue dogs of their own. Leash Pet Sitters go beyond a dog walking service,. We have been using Louis at LEASH for about 5 months now, ever since we moved to the Heights, and are very happy with him and the company generally. We have an extremely energetic/anxious Springer Spaniel who needs some special care to keep her energy in check, and Louis has been a lifesaver. He comes every day and either takes her for a mile-long walk or plays fetch with her in the yard to get out the crazies. I see him working with her on the leash to make sure she is calm and focused before they set off on the hike and before they re-enter the house, so I feel she's getting some important training and behavior modification along with her walks. Huge bonus. Also, the Springer sometimes has jealousy issues with our other dog, a small Doxie, and Louis has been able to manage their relationship to keep everyone happy and getting along. read more

Candy is amazing!!! My family loves her. I had a horrible experience with my previous dog walker and very wary of hiring someone else. However, when I called to interview her, Candy ended up interviewing me about my dog. She is the only person who was familiar with the breed I had, asked all the right questions, she even asked questions I didn't think were even questions to ask. She also walks my dog the way we trained her to walk. I love that as we were constantly trying to break her of bad habits of pulling on the leash that the other walkers allowed. Candy is positive, reliable and actually has a plan for emergencies and a backup plan for her emergency plan. Candy runs her company like a real business but treats you and your babies like family. We've been using Leash Pet Sitters for mid-day walks since January for our senior dog (almost 16 years old), Jackie. We are so pleased with Candy and Patrick, they really do go the extra mile and show true care and compassion. Jackie can't walk very far anymore, but loves her cuddles and brushes, so Patrick really accommodates her and adjusts his visit depending on how much energy that Jackie has on that day - some days she gets longer walks, other days she gets more brushes and cuddles. We love the daily text with a picture and map showing where they've gone, as well as the note that Patrick leaves us. When Jackie experienced a small seizure during a walk, Candy called me right away to let me know what was happening. It maybe I am working a late night and it's a last minute request or I am on vacation for a week. Candy and her team are wonderful. I adopted a great dog, Hudson, last year and needed a dependable dog walker to walk Hudson during the weekdays while I was at work. Candy was so great with him. She cares so much about her clients and goes above and beyond the call of duty to help out. One night, I unexpectedly had to stay very late at work, and when I called Candy at 9:00 asking if she would be able to check on Hudson, she quickly worked with her staff to make sure Hudson was covered. We are so lucky to have Jason & Candy take care of our pups! They've been walking our dogs and taking care of them for 4 years now and we wouldn't trust anyone else, period. Candy and Jason have been wonderful caring for both my babies. They started walking my first dog Chuck who was in his teens and had puddle problems. They watched over him twice a day and let me know whether or not everything was ok.
