Stay away from this location, the customer service is at a all time low, they are so short staff that they have to open up a hour later, and get this the employees are still rude, unable to work a cash register, and the manager just stands around with a stupid grin on his face, looking like he's stuck on stupid, and dangling from dumb. They cancelled on me at the last second, because their groomer was "sick" (and, they weren't professional enough to have a backup.) I rescheduled with them. I showed up today to drop the dog off. She's older. The vet's told us we need to be careful of her back when lifting her. They REFUSED TO WORK ON HER because of that. Beware of PETCO grooming Frandor Shopping Plaza MI. Unethical business, Lying, stealing.... I have given them to many chances. I have a beautiful English Labrador (Apollo). This was not my first problem here but my last. Yesterday, I took Apollo in to get his teeth brushed. I was advised to look after his dental health a little more. Apollo likes to kiss and gets excited when you brush his teeth making it difficult for me at home. I decided to start taking him regularly just for a brushing. First, the young girl, approx 5'4", Dark medium length hair, pale skin with stainless steel piercings in her nose and I think between her eyes or somewhere (two of them) is who helped. I called and scheduled with her (nice and sweet) arrived on time to drop Apollo off. I was then told I could not leave him there and had to stay in the store. I just needed to go grab something (in the same shopping plaza) and would be right back in 25 to 30 Minutes at most. Nope, so I walked out upset why I couldn't just be right back. So I left and came back, When she took Apollo in for a brushing I decided to watch through the window behind her to see how they do it. She put on a blue rubber finger brush with nubs on it. No toothpaste and tried to get Apollo to let her brush his right side. She got maybe one stroke forward and back before jumping to the left and just barely touching his teeth with the tip of the rubber thingy, then immediately grabbed a bottle of breath spray and without even looking, quickly, pushed up his gum on his right side and squirted his face, it didn't even get in his mouth. That portion took place in hardly one minute. She then faked a quick nail grinding and had him back to the counter in under 5 minutes. I should have made a scene but I didn't. I asked her why she didn't brush his teeth but she denied it and lied and said she did. I was so mad. I asked her then what the blue finger brush was and she said we have different brushed on the shelf and she would show me. We went to the isle and I pointed at a regular dog brush (on purpose) and said what about this and she replied with, thats what we normally use but we dont have any teeth brushed back there today. Thats when I said exactly so how did you brush his teeth, I stood in the glass the whole time. She was embarrassed and walked away still denying it. I went to pay at the counter and asked the girl,( name started with an L, Hair in a bun, Tall probably 6'1', young) if she thought this was ok and if I could speak to someone but she told me that's not PETCOs problem and they are not affiliated. BUT SHE TOOK A NEW BRUSH FROM THE ISLE, WALKED ME SHOPPING, I CALLED PETCO TO SCHEDULE, AND BOOM I FREAKING PAID AT THE REGISTER AND PETCO TOOK MY MONEY FOR THE GROOMING. Yes, I paid because I didnt want to cause a big scene. It's not the money, its the fact that I take my pride and joy, love of my life, 17K pure white service trained Labrador to get his teeth groomed because they tell me I'm not doing it enough. THIS IS WHY HE HAS DENTAL HYGIENE ISSUES. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PET PLEASE TAKE HIM ANYWHERE BUT THIS PETCO. FIGHT TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF. HORRIBLE!!! Absolutely will NEVER shop EL ( Frandor) again!! First of all, CHECK ONLINE PRICING BEFORE SHOPPING AT LOCAL STORE!!! CRAZY difference in pricing. I was searching for a store that sold Tetris Koi Food, Petco popped up at $26.69 for a 5lb bag. I called to confirm they had it before driving over. Clerk confirmed they did but it was $59.99 for a 5lb bag. I explained to her that the ad stated it was $26.69 online and had a buy one bag get 2nd bag for 25% off and then we got disconnected. I drove to the store grabbed 2 bags and went to the counter, clerk needed an override from manager " Justin" to allow the markdown. Justin approved of 1 bag at $26.69 but not the second ( EVEN THO AD SAID " BUY ONE GET ONE AT 25% OFF). I asked how there can be a $33.00 difference from in store pricing an online pricing from the sane store? Is that even legal? I then explained to him that Petsmart sells a 5lb bag every day for $26.99. So why would anyone pay $60 for the sane product? He " Justin" was extremely rude! I'm a rabbit owner. I can say this about Petco: they don't have a clue how to take care of a rabbit. They had a huge display with rabbits there when I went, and advocated feeding a rabbit "commercial rabbit food" with limited greens and fruit. That's a slap in the face! Commercial rabbit food! I had to buy timothy hay though, so I picked it up, paid, and left. If you're looking for supplies they have it. My girlfriend called ahead to see if their groomers could handle large breed dogs because we have a Great Dane. The "Manager" said yes we handle all dogs and I can do it myself. We took him and immediately without even trying to get warmed up to him, she aggressively grabbed his paw and naturally he whined because he has no idea who this person is. And she goes, "Oh I can already see I'm gonna have trouble with him." That should've been our first clue to just take him and leave. So she asks us to walk around so he doesn't try to lunge off the table, less than two minutes she calls us back to say he's ready. We walk up she says she was only able to cut two of his nails. And we notice he's bleeding from his mouth, and she just doesn't know how that happened. Never going back. Terrible service. You can be rude to me but how dare you be rude and terrible to my dog. read more

If I could, I would really give 2 1/2 stars for the grooming. Store wise, you suckers get 1 star. I have 3 dogs that I usually groom myself and besides for the length of time it takes, I am pretty happy with the job I do. I decided to take my dogs to the groomers for a good "spring cleaning" and because they definitely don't let me clip their nails. The haircuts are decent, but I see a lot of unevenness. A. Lot. Especially around their faces. I will most likely just fix the unevenness myself. However, the 2 groomers that I dropped my dogs off to were very friendly, which I definitely appreciate! While paying inside the store, one of my dogs had an accident. Small dog, small bladder. Not a big deal, after all, it is a pet store. I told the cashier I would clean it up and he told me where I could get the cleaning supplies with a less than thrilled attitude. Buddy, you work at a pet store, and judging by the dried urine by another merchandise rack, it obviously has happened before. I asked if they had something more absorbent than the paper towel I was using and another associate said no. She included that she would have brought me a mop but the solution wasn't ready. Seriously? There is dried urine 3 feet away and you think I'm gonna mop your floor? I had just finished with the paper towel when someone who I believe was higher up on the ladder SERIOUSLY brought me the mop and bucket. I grabbed my trash and threw it away and walked out. I just dropped over $150 there and you brought me a mop? Not to say that I will never go there again, I will just try to get in somewhere else first and take my money elsewhere. read more

Without a doubt this is the worst pet store to go to! The grooming area cut my dogs pad when he was getting groomed. The manager is rude to the employees and talks down to them. The manager once was annoyed because I was purchasing a bark collar and they had to open the case. I hate petco grooming! My puppy had his first outside home bath here. And he never went outside or met other dogs after the bath. Few days later, I found there are some places of his body started to shed and with many big picecs of scurf! I asked vet, and the vet said it is one of the most horrible skin diseases-Stubborn fungus infection. I have to continue give him medicine for at least 5 months! Beacuse the fungus will continue growing. All his four paws have infection, because petco grooming shaved his fur on feet. I doubt petco's electrical fur cutter has never been cleaned. Very angry! They have one of those little saver cards like Kroger has, but you have to fill out a card, mail it in, and wait unlike any other place that has the cards. That's a huge annoyance to me and for that very reason, I limit my shopping there. Oh and they almost always only have one line open. That's kind of annoying too. Better yet, don't waste your time, just go to Soldan's or Pet Supplies Plus, unless you absolutely can't find what you need there. read more

Petco staff helped me find what I needed to start their new life with me in style! I've been to this Petco many times since for various pet supplies for my dog, tank of community freshwater fish, and of course my new kittens. When I shop here I often bring my dog on a leash, and she loves the sights, smells, and bonding with people and their pets too. read more

They clearly labeled male and female and I thought I picked a male but upon further inspection at home a month later, I found she was a female. The grooming area is awesome, especially Brianna. However, do not enroll your dog in the training classes. My dog was dismissed from his training course only after two sessions without receiving any prior negative feedback and/or a warning. I believe that the was due to the trainer's, in ability to appropriately manage him due to his size. She stated that see was removing him from the training classes because she could be liable for his behavior. She stated that this was due to her observing him outside of the classroom setting, barking at another dog that had barked and lunged at him, first. However, I believe this was due to class entering a phase where we were about to practice more in-depth commands. After reflecting upon this incident, I will take my money and my four-legged child to a business that treats all animals whether big or small with the same level of respect and appreciation. read more

I took my dog Buddy into the Petco grooming salon for the first time recently and was very pleased with my service. The grooming staff was extremely friendly and helpful , the salon was a nice and clean and I felt that the price was more then fair. My dog, Buddy, is a west highland white terrier (westie) who I always keep in a traditional breed trim, I have been a westie owner for over 17 years and know what to expect from a haircut. The last place I took Buddy to did an awful job on his haircut, not how a traditional westie trim should look at all, when I came to pick Buddy up from the Petco grooming salon he looKed great and smelled wonderful, he even had a cute little bandana on. Overall I highly recommend using the Petco grooming salon in frandor, the staff there are amazing and you can easily see when you enter the salon that they love their job and all the dogs in their care.
