I brought in a stray/outdoor cat that we recently rescued because we wanted to transition him into an indoor pet safely around our other animals. I paid for an exam and vaccinations, and the cat was taken to the back for treatment. However, within a few days we discovered he had fleas, which spread to our other two cats and dog. We then took him to another vet, who confirmed fleas as well as ear mites. I understand outdoor cats can come in with issues, but my concern is that these problems were apparently missed during the exam despite me specifically explaining the situation and my concerns. Unfortunately, this ended up affecting the other pets in our home. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this clinic to anyone ever! read more

This is what their "professional groomer" thinks a bath and brushing looks like. They totally shaved our poor pup down to bare skin, cut , clipper burned and traumatized her. This groomer has no business touching a dog. Contacted the "Manager Sara" and she defended the groomer. The dog was not dirty or matted when she was brought in. Local store management recommended I escalate it to the main office. The main office took my statement and said they would get back with me in a few days. Two weeks passed and I contacted them again. At this point they blew me off saying that their manager Sara said it was a racial thing (totally a lie, nothing further from the fact). They didn't want to pursue it any further. Amateur groomer completely shaved our dog to the bare skin inflicting several bloody cuts. They then double charged us and charged for things that they didn't perform. When speaking to the "manager " Sarah, she defended her groomer stating that was what we asked for (total lie). The staff here are incredibly nice and helpful - I don't think I've visited this location once without receiving a warm smile and inquiries as to whether I need help or not. Yesterday, I called hoping to get my dog Junebug in for a last minute grooming before Thanksgiving. They told me I could just walk in which I was hesitant because I don't like leaving her places for too long. When I arrived they quickly got her back and I told them exactly what I wanted. I'm not sure who the person was who groomed her but they did an AMAZING job. Exceeded my expectations and now she is all ready for Thanksgiving. It also only took about 2 hours which made me really happy that she didn't have to spend the entire day there just for a bath and cut. If I could give them 0.01 stars, I would! On January 18, 2025, I took my pet to the PETCO on FM1960 near Atascocita for a bath, a trim around his jawline, and a facial cleaning. What should have been a routine grooming session turned into an absolute nightmare. When my daughter went to pick him up, she FaceTimed me, and I was shocked--my pet was completely unrecognizable. The groomer had shaved off all his hair, leaving his ears bare and looking as if they had been skinned. This was NOT what I requested, and to add insult to injury, the staff was rude, dismissive, and outright lied, claiming this was what I had asked for. I paid $100 for this botched grooming job, and instead of rectifying the situation, they told me to come back the next day to speak with the manager--who might not even refund my money. Killed my kitten. I came here to do a check up on my one month old kitten and told them she started having issues using the restroom and thick white discharge was coming out when she urinated. I asked if it was a UTI and they said no. They gave me amoxicillin and told me to keep stimulating her. I gave her the medicine later that night when I fed her and she seemed normal. Second day I gave her the medicine and she used the restroom. Within hours she went incredibly downhill. She wouldn't use her back legs and was breathing so hard. She passed away before I could even get out the door to the emergency room. Don't go to this place for animal health concerns. read more

My wife requested a refund for the use of the self-grooming station, and a supervisor shouted at her that she can't believe she would request a refund, and she can't believe we tried to wash our dog at her establishment. We found a stray dog and attempted to adopt it. We attempted to wash the dog for the first time ever using your self-groom facility. Before entering the store I walked the dog in the doggy restroom area, and the dog used the restroom. On the way in the store, the dog urinated on the floor in 2 spots. I was embarrassed, so I found an associate and informed her of the accident, and asked her if I can use their mop to clean it up. The associate told me she didn't have a mop, and handed me a wet floor sign and asked me to put it where the urine was. The dog, a full-grown German Shepherd, was extremely fearful of the water sprayer, and had a violent reaction to it. He attempted to attack the sprayer and bit me by accident in the process. He was loud and reactive, and we were not able to even wet the dog, much less wash him with the provided soap, or use the provided towels. I gave up after a short period, and asked my wife to request a refund since we didn't use the supplies. The whole time I was attempting to wash the dog, an employee, a lady with very short hair, I didn't catch her name, was watching me and giving me dirty looks, as though I was intentionally trying to cause a problem in her store. When my wife requested a refund in a polite tone with NO ATTITUDE, the short haired lady attempted to shame her, and denied her request for a refund. With a very bad attitude, she loudly stated "I can't believe you would ask for a refund, your dog peed on the floor and you just left it there. I can't believe you tried to wash your dog here." My wife did not argue the point of the refund, but the lady continued by saying that they must clean up the area, so they cannot refund our money. That's fine, and that's all she had to say. She didn't have to shame my wife. My wife was in tears when she returned to my vehicle, where I was waiting with the dog. I AM INFURIATED. That lady turned a really bad experience with a new dog into a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I went back into the store when I saw my wife crying and told that lady that I did request a mop to clean up the accident. I guess she thought I was there to argue for a refund, but we were passed that, we're not going to make a big deal about $20, I was there to let her know she shouldn't treat people like that. She told me I was lying that I asked for a mop, and rudely continued arguing about a refund. She offered no apology for her behavior towards my wife. As soon as we left I called store because in our haste to leave we left behind a product that we bought. I requested to speak to a supervisor, and when she was on the phone I explained the situation to her and made a complaint. I later found out that the supervisor I spoke to on the phone WAS EXACTLY THE SAME PERSON WHO SHAMED MY WIFE. She did not possess the quality of character to let me know that I was talking to the same person I had already spoken to before, she just deceptively pretended that she didn't know what I was talking about, and didn't offer any apology for the incident. I will never shop at Petco again, and I will warn all of my pet-owning friends that they should do business elsewhere, or risk being exposed to a HORRIBLE PERSON. I can't believe Petco would hire a supervisor who has no notion of tact or customer service. This person should be demoted immediately until she can learn that when a customer requests a refund, the refusal should be polite and explanatory, not shouted accusations and shaming. There was a great opportunity there for this supervisor to at least help and provide support during the stressful situation instead of making the problem so much worse, even if a refund could not be approved. Not only was Jessica the manager so rude and condescending, giving me dirty looks, not to mention I'm 8 months PREGNANT, she wanted to make me wait extra time for no reason due to an issue that was wrong online on behalf of Petco. Items in this store online always show they aren't in stock but if you go in person, they are. I let her know this is an inconvenience and we miss out on the pickup discount when this happens and she told me if that's the route I choose to take I need to wait an extra 15 minutes. Thank goodness she left because the front desk people were nice to pull up my order in 2 minutes. I hope there is someone hire up that can address this issue. I took my dog in for a shampoo and haircut, and was asked if I wanted toenail clipping, anal glands expressed, etc., and I told the cashier like 3 times that "I don't want anything extra, just a shampoo and hair cut, and that I have a nail clipper at home, and do her nail trimming myself, nothing extra, please." So when I show up to my pick my dog up they charged me $12 for a mail clipping. The manager did end up giving me a discount for the clipping, but when I explained to her that I mentioned 3 times I didn't want anything extra, she offered no apology and seemed nicely annoyed by me stating my disapproval of what happened. Atascocita Petco recently I took my dog in to get groomed, she was needing it for while. I didn't have enough money at the time so I made sure to save up for when i was able to make an appointment. Later through the week I got my dog up to date with the vet knowing that all pet groomers need the shot update ect. finally now having the time for the groomer I scheduled an Appointment hoping they had skilled and professional groomers. Walking into Petco on my appointment date only to be shocked by the customer service, they were very rude adding on they looked at my matted dog saying "our Clippers aren't able to go under her fur without hurting her or scarring her" they continue to add on by saying that I need to go to a vet groomer. One of the comments that they said that really shocked me was that my dog may have to be sedated. Concerned and shocked I ask for suggestions for any vet groomers. The "dog groomers" that were talking to me looked at each other before saying that they don't know any. Instead of saying they couldn't help me professionally they escort me out of the Petco. they gave me judgmental looks as well as attitude. Making me feel judged and upset I called a place that I should have called in the first place. they groomed my dog and my dog came out looking like when I first got her as a puppy. My dog was happy and very playful after the grooming. this just proves that Petco does not have any proffesional groomers or experienced groomers that can handle dogs that genuinely need a grooming with bad matting. that was my first and last time going there. It's good to buy accessories for your pet but never go there for grooming. they are unprofessional to get your pet groomed. Again I do not recommend anyone pet getting groomed there. I've had the worst experience at a pet store . I go often to pet stores to look for items for my pets , but the workers at this store made my trip terrible. I waited 30 minutes for a worker to come help us (even though the store was completely empty and just one person at the register) , we were just standing around looking until we were finally able to get someone and I asked them questions about a new fish tank , well the worker was basic and they gave minimal effort into talking and explaining which it felt like I wasn't welcomed and they were ready for me to leave . I then tell the worker we have it from here and continued to grab my items and went to the front desk . The worker at the front desk the main issue, I asked if they were any deals they said not at this store , so I said okay well it shows on the website there's deals on online and instore . Instead of trying to help they shut me down and said "No" multiple times . Their tone was aggressive towards me so I was eager to leave asap , overall it wasn't a great trip and don't recommend anyone going in the evening the same time I did. my brother has a wheelchair due to having surgery and we have come in there multiple times a week due to us having fish tanks and turtle aquarium. we were standing in line returning a couple things and chuck told us to move out of the for other customers with the wheelchair so people could get through even though we were out of the way as much as we could be and no one else was complaining. I found this very rude and inconsiderate as we were very much disrespected. petco has never been this rude and the lady that was helping us was huffing and puffing as if she did not want to help us the whole time as if we too much for her. My Golden Doodle had an appointment today to be groomed. I went in on Tuesday to see what they suggested for Doodle to take due to him getting car sick so I can be prepared on Saturday to get him to the appointment. The associate at PETCO suggested that I give him some calming chews that they sale at the store. I purchased the product and gave it to my Doodle on Saturday and upon arrival the groomer explained that they are not able to groom him due to him taking the product. Why would you guys recommend the product and then not want to render services. To put my baby through the stress and anxiety of driving to the store and not render services was insensitive. 0 Stars, if I am being honest. I had an appointment for a bath for my dog, and I called about 10 minutes after the store opened that morning to see about moving it up. I got told there was an opening an hour earlier if I wanted it, which I did, so they told me they would change the appointment and to come in. Well, I got there at the time I was told, and the girl had an issue finding my reservation. She found it, but at the original time. after bouncing between the groomer who the appointment was with, and a 2nd person in the salon, she tried to check me in. When I asked how long it would be, she got VERY SNIPPY, and told me my dog wouldnt be started until the original appointment time. So, I asked for a manager. the girl went and got another girl from the salon, ASHLEY, who came out and very RUDELY told me she was getting her manager. She then, not 10 feet from me, hollered at a woman taking boxes off a cart "Hey boss! This customer wants to bring his dog in an hour early, and he's getting mad we can't do it!" The manager, KAREN, walked over, glaring at me the whole time, and before she said anything, I told her what she had just been told was not true. ASHLEY, snapped at me and said she "did NOT LIE SIR! Thank you very much!" KAREN then said, very aggressively, "sir i don't know where you got it from that you could just come in early but we don't do that." I told her I had called on the phone, and told her exactly what time. She told me I didnt talk to anyone here because nobody would tell me to come in early. I asked her to review security footage to see that at the time I said i called, someone was on the phone at the grooming salon. KAREN laughed at me! She told me she wasn't going to waster her time checking anything at all with "everything that's going on" I said that was fine, but then I needed to have her get me in touch with her district manager because I didn't appreciate the rudeness. KAREN then laughed at me again and said "No, I won't waste his time with this either. You can call customer service and MAYBE they will help you. You can ask them to pass the complaint to the district manager, but they probably won't do it." So I said, maybe i should just hang in the store until she gets her district manager on the phone for me. At that point, KAREN grunted at me and said she would get me the phone number, and to follow her. So I followed her to the front of the store. she disappeared into a room and came back with a piece of paper with a toll free number on it, SHOVED IT 6" FROM MY FACE and then.... KAREN said "He're the number to customer service, now get the f*** out!" As I was leaving, she continued shouting at me, and told me she was going to call the cops on me. I said go ahead (I was leaving anyway, and I do anything wrong or out of line anyway), but I left. This is the quality of people being hired in this location. KAREN is very disrespectful to customers, to the point of resorting to vulgarities and quite frankly bullying, and she clearly promotes this behavior, given that a salon groomer feels like that can flat out lie about a customer, in front of them, and do so without repercussion. ALL they had to do was take responsibility for the part where they screwed up on getting the appointment time rebooked, and offer a solution. instead they resorted to nastiness, lying, vulgarities, and threatening law enforcement intervention. The sad thing is, my previous visit to this place was excellent. the groomer on that visit (who was also scheduled to bathe my dog this time) did a great job, and I was looking forward to going back. The self wash service here is AWFUL! I'll keep it straight to the point: - Cashier was very rude and was arguing with another employee in front of us. - Not one station is fully functional (shampoo dispensers and dryers don't work) - Stations where dirty and full of hair from previous showers. They didn't take the time to at least clean the hair clogging the space. - Drying towels provided are old, dirty and small. They need to replace them with new ones. They charge $15 per dog but honestly, I rather go to Pet Supermarket that is a longer drive to me and pay $10 to receive fully functional CLEAN stations as well as feel welcomed. This was my puppy's WORST haircut ever from this location and it was his birthday (as well as Mother's Day). When I went to pick him up he was way too excited for me to check him. I paid for the cut and also tipped. When I got home when after he calmed down I noticed all the horrible mistakes, his stomach and chest area was completely gashed up and his ears were filthy. The shape of his head was lopsided ( I had to fixed the haircut after the haircut ), but his stomach and ears was extremely unacceptable! I called back to make a complaint about the job by groomer Samantha, she said to bring him back and she'd fix it, since it was Mother's Day I decided to arrange the next day to fix the corrections because I didn't want to keep driving back and forth. I took him back and it doesn't look any better (hence WHY I'm leaving a review). It feels deceptive for me to pay and tip and the groomer KNEW she had issues with the appointment and new she messed his cut up, for me to get home only to have to bring him back for mistakes that should have been corrected before they called me to pick him up. If I'm paying $130 for a bath and cut, my dog need to ACTUALLY have had a bath and a proper cut. I've been to this location before where I've paid for a bath and cut and could SMELL he didn't have a bath but only a cut and they charged me for both. I love Petco and is always my go to so I decided to rt the self wash at the Atascocita location. Worst experience! All the baths were dirty and big huge chunks of hair from previous dogs everywhere. The water temperature was only cold! My poor dog was freezing the whole time. I poured shampoo on him and it was literally nothing but water!! As well as the conditioner. I asked an employee for a different shampoo and she said that's how they are. The soap made no suds it was literally WATER! The clean towels provided also had chunks of other dog hair on it. At this point I was already irritated for services with poor "quality" I proceeded to dry him and poor baby was already freezing from the cold water the cold dryer made it worse. I have never had a bad grooming experience at this Petco until today with the groomer Kat/Katherine. I was so upset to the point of tears and left the store crying. My health is not well and I needed help with grooming my dog. My Sheltland Sheepdog was scheduled to have a bath, trim feet, face trim, sanitary cut and a belly shave. He looked happy when I got him and my son was so excited to see him. I did not take a look over to check if everything was trimmed like previously discussed by the desk at pick up because there were dogs by the desk. To avoid any dog fights, I hurried along. I finish checking out, gave my tip and walked to my car. Before putting my dog in my car, I noticed my dog still had the same poop crusted around his anus, from before his appointment, at 8:30am. It was 4:00pm. (Which I told ahead of time he had upset tummy a few days ago due to eating something he shouldn't. He had had normal stool since then but could not get around to cleaning it) His underbelly was shaven but uneven, messy and still had a ton of long hair present. His anus region wasn't touch when I had asked her to please clean up and shave. Which is part of a sanitary clean. Now I worry was he even washed? His coat wasn't as soft as it normally is when he is bathed and groomed. He smelled like heavily perfumed. But his tummy still looked like he had dirt on his skin. His paw pads looked trimmed but not as clean as I've seen other groomers have done before. He still had a ton of hair between his paw pads. I spoke to the manager, told him everything and they took him back to be shaved again and cleaned. Kat was pissed and kept cutting me off as I explained my concerns. I told her that I am not well and cannot handle emotionally being interrupted when talking. I politely asked if I could finish talking before she would talk. She said that she was the only person back there in the morning and it was hard to shave my dog. It was 4:00pm and there were other groomers in the back. That was an unacceptable excuse. Her poor shave job was because of the lack of help?? Then my dog came back with his belly shaved a little more but still not even, nothing changed in his rear end and still poop back there!! I asked her why is she missing cleaning his behind and she claimed that she didn't know what I wanted her to do. I had to pull off a piece of poop to show her. With my bare hands. I asked for a wipe to clean my dog's rear end. It was humiliating. She was pissed and gave me attitude and rolled her eyes, when she left to grab a wipe. She threw a blue wet washcloth at me and the ten dollar tip I handed her from before. I cried while in the middle of customers walking by staring, trying to clean my dog's rear end. While Kat was openly discussing to others how I was overreacting. Workers stopped by and stared at me on the ground with my dog. I was right beside the desk, I heard everything. I didn't do anything to deserve this. I did not even receive an apology from Kat. The manager was kind and listen to my concerns. He agreed that she did not treat me kindly and he will talk to her. He agreed that the job was not done correctly. He said that he was sorry. He said that he will check the tapes to see if my dog was bathed and he will get back to me. I don't know if I believe that will happen. It was just so horrible and I have never had someone treat me this way. I never had someone make me feel so poorly and that I was overreacting over my dog. I never cried in front of complete strangers before. It crazy because I have been here before and I had a wonderful experiences with other groomers. Why did this happen today? I have a degree in veterinary medicine and I am a licensed veterinary technician. I went to school for a very long time and have worked for 12 years in veterinary practices and in a teaching hospital. If I clean or shave or treat anything on an animal, it has to be done correctly the first time and it has to look perfect. If whatever I do looks sloppy, then it is perceived like I don't know how to do my job and what kind of shortcuts did I do to the animal. I take my profession seriously and take pride in caring for the well being of all animals. That is my job. I am fully capable of grooming and bathing my dog and have done so for years. Today, I needed help because I physically cannot groom my dog or bathe him due to my health. I needed help. I paid for help. I expected to be treated with dignity and respect when the service rendered was not up to standards. I was deeply humiliated and upset over the care my dog and I received. This is unacceptable. I don't believe in boycotting a company due to one person's actions but I will say this, avoid the groomer Kat at all costs. You will waste money and time having her touch your animal. read more

I just adopted a doggy a month ago and was looking for a local place to groom her and found a great tech here at Petco. Bobbie was such a great help and made my dog feel so safe, which was my concern since she is a rescue. She did an amazing job in explaining everything and making the process smooth. I had my appointment at 10:30am and they told me it would take about 3-4 hours and they didn't text me to pick her up until 4pm closed to 5pm which was something I did not like. My pup was there for too long but she seemed very happy and not distress which was my main concern. read more

I have bought several fish from this location, and all are alive and healthy. All other departments are not properly taking care of their animals. Some of the ball pythons I've seen in this store are just absolutely emaciated. I also took home 2 pet rats from this location, and both died yesterday. Yet I had a 3rd rat from a great pet store in kingwood called animal ark, and he's still happy, healthy, and has a very well groomed coat. I cannot stress enough, that the two girls in charge of the fish section do their job very well. But whoever is in charge of their reptiles and small mammals should be fired and replaced with someone who cares about animals read more

Petco in Atascocita, where my pets go. I really like our Petco. We go there FREQUENTLY, given that we have multiple pets. With cats and dogs running around the house, it's important that we have supplies to keep them happy, fed, and healthy. Petco helps us meet those needs and is close to all our other shopping. With a clean and cheerful store, this Petco is very inviting. Our dogs like to visit. Of course, when you take your pups to a place where other pups go, you will have piddles. There are cleanup stations in the store to help you take care of those calling card tiddles and other oops activities. The dog toy selection is HUGE. I especially like that they have a good variety of toys for smaller dogs. The food selection for dogs is also large with quality/price choices from low to high. Honestly, the dog section is enormic. If you can't find what you need there, do you really need it? The cat section is much smaller by comparison. I do think the cat market is still smaller than dog, which I really cannot understand. Anyway, we do have some cat needs that are not met by the selection here, but we do have some special requirements for diet. The canned catfood selection is large and there is a large spectrum of feeds in different qualities. I HIGHLY recommend the Soulistic cat food brand. Their food is very high quality and is grain free. My diabetic cat snarks it hard and it has been good for his blood glucose levels. The bird section is smaller, but birds are not a huge pet market. The birds they have for sale all seem to be well cared for. Sometimes, the staff takes well behaved birds out for a "walk". You can visit with the birds then and that is a nice treat for me, since I really like them, but can't have one due to all the cats living in the house. The other sections are generally well kept as well. The fish section is always clean and never smells yucky. Best of all, the reptiles all look healthy and seem to be coming from good places where they are hand raised and not traumatized. Lastly, the small mammal area with mice, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets, etc. is always clean and does not smell either. All the animals appear to be healthy and happy. I have used the grooming shop once, and they did a good job. I have since decided to do my own grooming, though. Therefore, I cannot give them a real rating. The staff at this Petco plainly like animals. They aren't there to get a paycheck and move on. I also like that they have regularly scheduled adoption events with great adoption and rescue groups. I would recommend this Petco to anyone who needs pet supplies or maybe just wants to go and look at some cute animals. It's very convenient for the locals and has almost everything you would want or need. read more

Petco may be a little higher priced than Walmart or Target, but they make up for it in many ways. The weekly pet adoptions are, of course, one of the main reasons I come here for my pet needs. Any business or organization that helps animals is a-ok in my book. I like that I can donate to help animals on the debit pad. Once I donated to SPCA, and they sold my name out. I was flooded with junk mail from charitable causes for YEARS. Now I can happily donate anonymously. The staff here is very friendly, and they will help you with any questions you have. Plus, they always gush over my pup, so that makes me happy too. read more

I am so happy with the groomers at Petco. Michael does a wonderful job with Attley. I am always more than satisfied with her.

The store itself is great. A really new, clean, fresh petco! I do nearly all of my puppy shopping here, aside from a few things at Fur Babies. Good sales. Good coupons & joy bucks! I got a coupon for $15 off a bag of food, one for a free full sized bottle of "oppsie" spray... great! As for grooming: I had my puppy bathed, nails trimmed and filed, teeth brushed, and fur trimmed to clean her up. It cost $40 (even though there's a $15 puppy bath sale going on?) and I don't think it was worth the job they did. Her nails are still pretty long and hurt when they scratch. Her ears were the only thing trimmed and it was a "meh" job; a little uneven, still has longer patches, and they didn't do around her butt or her tail. Petsmart did a better job, but she had fleas on her coming out of there, so we def won't be going back... I think I will take her to Fur Babies next. read more

If "Daisy T." ever reads a review on this store again, I hope she reads this one... and anyone else who has read her poor excuse for a Yelp review. Okay, I just want to say your review makes YOU look bad; not the managers, and not the company, and this is how (other than your poor knowledge between knowing when to use "Then" rather than the word "Than," your awful run on sentences, and your inability to form a paragraph): First of all, "African American lady" is not an okay description. There are other ways to describe a person, and skin color is DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF THEM. You already said she had blue hair, that should be descriptive enough. Just because she's not white doesn't mean you need to comment about it.. If you have a problem with a black manager, you should really not be living in Texas, just saying. Second, if they can't sell that comb because it's already someone else's property, why argue for it? I'm 100% sure that if they could sell it to you, a manager would be more than happy to help you because that's their job. Don't act like you haven't misplaced something before, because it happens to everyone, even in the work place. She's also just one person; she can't be actively watching everyone all at once. Give her a break! Third, I've been to that Petco many times, and that "African American lady" does an amazing job. She's always doing her job and making sure the customers are happy. She has such a bubbly personality and always has a smile on her face. I go back every time just because I know I will always be taken care of... Just a note honey, don't get all boo boo kitty about it because you know you're in the wrong and don't want to admit it ;) xoxo read more
