Fur Babies - My boys look and feel great! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Kingwood, Texas

If you've got pets and live anywhere near Kingwood, you've got to check out Fur Babies. This place is seriously one of the best local pet shops around. I love supporting small businesses, and this one really stands out because you can tell they genuinely care about animals and the people who walk through their doors. I can't even tell you how much they impressed me in such a small post. First off, their grooming services are amazing. The staff are super friendly and know exactly how to handle all kinds of pets, even the nervous ones. They take their time, make sure each animal is comfortable, and always do an awesome job. You can tell they're animal lovers through and through. It's nice knowing there's a local groomer that really goes the extra mile to make pets feel safe and cared for. Plus, they offer pops of colors for your fur baby, which is rare to find. The store itself is also great. They have a really solid selection of pet supplies( way more than I expected for a local shop). From healthy food and cute toys to collars and accessories, they've got it all. I've even found brands here that I can't find at the big chain stores. It's obvious they actually put thought into what they stock instead of just filling shelves with random stuff. Everything feels high-quality and chosen with pet owners in mind. And let's talk about the baked dog treats! They are the cutest thing ever. Seriously! They come in all different shapes and colors, and they always look so festive and fun. It's such a creative touch that makes the place feel personal and unique. I always end up grabbing a few because they're just too cute to pass up. The overall vibe of Fur Babies is just so welcoming. The employees always greet you with a smile and genuinely treat everyone's fur babies like their own. That kind of customer service is rare these days. You can feel that community connection. It's not just a business to them, it's a place where they get to share their love for animals with everyone who walks in. Shopping here just feels good. You're not only getting quality products and great service, but you're also supporting a local business that truly deserves it. I've been to plenty of pet stores around Houston, and Fur Babies easily tops the list for me. Whether you're looking for a new groomer, some quality supplies, or just want to spoil your furry friend with something cute and tasty, Fur Babies is the spot. Every visit has been a great experience, and I always leave impressed by how much care and effort they put into everything they do. For all you skim-readers: You'll find great service, services and supplies. If you haven't been here yet, definitely check it out. Your pets (and you) will love it! read more

**SELF-WASH ONLY REVIEW** This was my first time washing my dogs here after hearing about the great price, so I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The woman who took my payment wasn't very helpful or informative. I have two small dogs under five pounds, and the overall vibe was so off that I ended up washing my other dog at home instead. At other self-wash locations, the staff is typically welcoming and willing to guide first-time customers, but that wasn't the case here. A few issues I encountered: 1. The water nozzle had only one pressure setting, which was quite strong--too much for delicate areas like the face. 2. There was no information provided about the shampoo, and the only additional product available was a leave-in conditioner spray with no details on its ingredients. I didn't feel comfortable using it, so I used my own products. 3. The blow-drying situation was frustrating. Drying is done right at the wash station with no separate area. A groomer on the other side of the wall managed to get both me and my dog wet again just as I was almost done drying. Imagine trying to dry a Maltese next to a Husky--it felt like a snow globe of fur flying everywhere. **Additionally, the dryer itself wasn't very strong and didn't offer different settings for blowing strength or temperature. One of the main reasons I opted for a self-wash service was to complete the bath quickly, but the weak dryer made that difficult. It was fine today since it was warm outside, but I prefer to fully dry my girls regardless of the weather.** 4. Several employees (walked past me without a simple greeting or acknowledgment, which leads to my biggest issue... 5. **The vibe.** I can't quite put my finger on it, but the atmosphere felt unwelcoming--almost as if I was intruding. Washing my dogs is usually an enjoyable bonding experience, and I appreciate friendly, engaging interactions with staff. Unfortunately, I didn't get that here. Instead, I felt uncomfortable and eager to leave. 6. I purchased the 5-for-$50 deal, which comes with a punch card. Knowing my lifestyle, I probably won't keep track of it, so I asked if they had a system to store the information and check me in electronically. The response was simply "no," and she handed me a card with some holes punched in it. **On a positive note, the towels were very nice, and the lady working in the retail section was helpful when I stepped out to ask for a hand.** But overall, It's disappointing because all they had to do was be a little kind, show some concern, or at least act like they appreciated my business--just a little effort would have made me give them another shot. I won't be coming back--message received loud and clear. read more

Haven't used grooming services. I've purchased a dog jersey and a few other food and accessories. The staff working is always super young and can be apathetic at times. However, if you engage them they are okay and sometimes quite helpful. Great place to grab a few items quickly for your Fido and (God forbid) cat. read more

Love this place! They are so helpful and go above and beyond for my dogs needs. If they think of a better product that is also cheaper, they have no problem letting me know. They've also been super generous with samples of different products. Their events are super fun and creative too! We also love that they work with VAP volunteers to help get pets adopted. The dog wash station is the best! They always make sure we have everything we need and it makes dog washing much more comfortable and convenient than home. Great place overall! read more

This review is for Grooming services only, not the retail store. Im giving them 3 stars ONLY because the actual grooming work was very well done and my dog looks great the problem is not with the groomer, but with them not following through with the schedule / time frame agreed upon. I called to set an appointment 1.5 weeks early and advised I needed a quick in and out "express" service, and and to pick up my dog by 2pm. They told me no problem, when I dropped off they made a note on his paperwork making sure they knew he needed to her ready by 2pm. at 2pm I got a call saying he wouldn't be ready. I wasn't able to pick him up until after 5pm, 6 hours after dropping him off, I have an older rescue dog who doesn't do well sitting in this environment for this long. If they had advised me when I dropped him off they couldn't finish their work in the agreed upon time frame I would have just rescheduled for another day and moved on without issue; Instead not only did he have to sit there for 6 hours, I had family in from out of state that I had plans with later in the afternoon I had to cancel due to the groomer taking 6 hours instead of the advised 2-2.5 hours it would be. read more

They did great with my little Shih tzu puppy. They gave him a beautiful and even cut. He looks like his adorable self again. I'm new to the area and was nervous about finding a new groomer but they did not disappoint. read more

Always well stocked with high quality products. Friendly and knowledgeable. They also help our community especially rescue groups.

We walked in there and there were three people working an EMPTY store. Not one of them welcomed us in there. We were looking for dog food, Taste of the Wild. We didn't see it so we went up to the counter and asked the two guys if they had it. One of them didn't acknowledge us and the other put his finger up to us while he finished his food. Finally the lady in back yelled over to us that they don't sell it anymore. None of them offered assistance in finding a new food or anything. So we went to Petco across the street. We love supporting small local businesses, but don't make it hard for us to give you our money. read more

They always do a great job on my dog . Quick turn around for a Saturday appointment. The staff is always courteous!

This store is fantastic place to take your fur babies. I used to go to it when the owner had this cute store off Woodland Hills. It's expanded. Still in a great location. Lots of parking. I came in for a topper and they had a few options. They also have a dog ice cream. My dog loved it. My mom also got our sophe some churro chew bones. She's not a huge fan and that's ok because I have a grand fur babe who loves everything. I like to pop in when in town. My mom was so impressed with this location. If your pooch is a picky eater. I highly recommend Stella and chewy topper or dust. read more

Class act establishment! We use their grooming services for nail trims/grindings for our 3 dogs and they are great at accommodating our needs. The front/store is also stocked with several great dog food options with healthy ingredients, which we appreciate greatly. Very thankful to have found this place since moving here! Very kind people running this business. read more

I saw on the web that this store had a dog wash so I called and sure enough they do! They charge by weight so it was $18 for my 60LB dog. The set up is great, the staff is friendly, and the equipment is easy to use. The offer shampoo and conditioner, towels, a hook and stretchy collar to hold your pet in place, brushes, aprons, and a blow dryer. Also if you're looking for Astros dog gear or dog mom shirts they have a good selection to choose from! We will definitely be coming back. read more

Call me spoiled, BUT once you have experienced the Rolls Royce of self-serve dog washes, everything else pales in comparison. Side note: Happy K-9 in Forth Worth is IT! So I take MY fur baby in for a wash that I will complete myself. Fur Babies offers a cute little store front riddled with all natural and organic products for your pups. We head to the back to see what the establishment has to offer in the way of washes, and once we inform the attendant of our purpose, we are advised that it will be $12. So I pay and she gets us set up. To love: - high sinks to reduce tension on your back as you wash - great water flow and blow dryers - full set of grooming tools -separate table for blow drying and grooming your pet To nurture: - more products to clean your pet - more check in from the attendant All in all it was a pretty solid establishment. I really took the two stars away because of the lack of variety in products used to self-serve and my being neglected by the attendant. But hey, who needs her anyway? I will probably return! read more

My dog has been there 4 times, each time I had no issues. This last time I brought her , I told them I wanted her cut short and leave her face fluffy. my mom went to pick up my dog and she looked the same as when I dropped her off! I called them regarding my frustration after my mom paid $67 and was told that my dog was too hyper &' that she's always hyper so the groomer wasn't able to do anything to her but wash her , I was told to bring her back for them to cut her the way I wanted. I brought her back, picked her up and she still looked the exact same. They have never told me my dog was hyper, they never told me that she gives them a hard time. They charged me and didn't give me the service I wanted. I will NOT be Returning. read more

5stars for the self wash service. The lady that was behind the counter got me a tub immediately and was extremely pleasant. My dog on the other hand is a big fluffy monster of an Australian Shepherd. His fur is so thick that when I bathe him at home it takes forever. When I bathe him at petco I it take even longer because their water pressure sucks! But this place OMG! Had amazing water pressure I was about to brush out and wash colt in 20MINUTES!!! Which is astounding if you couldn't tell from my liberal use of exclamation points. I will most definitely go back and I'm literally telling every single person I can that has a large fluffy dog. read more

I called and left a message, phone number, during operating hours and never got a return call. I will give them the "benefit of the doubt" , probably busy, maybe lost message, I could have messaged up message, who knows. I will call again due to the good reviews. I do really want to find a reasonable priced, good grooming place for a bath/nail trim for my lab. One star until they show me this breech in customer service was a fluke, I hope so. I was in a bind. I needed my collie Paisley bathed prior to some special friends coming from out of town for the weekend. Fur Babies not only got him in when I needed, they did a wonderful job. He was fluffy, bone dry and oh so fresh smelling when I picked him up. I had used other groomers in the past where when I picked him up when called and told he was ready, he was still damp and "wet dog" smelling. This time, also, he was calm and content without any of the stressful trauma I felt he had experienced at other groomers. Margaret at the grooming desk was really sweet as well as helpful with suggesting products which were perfect for my needs. I've found my new groomers. :) read more

Our toy poodle is always such a happy girl when she comes home from her bath and grooming with Mercedes. :)) Which...makes me very happy too! It takes real talent to SHAPE poodles' fur and this shop is always - consistently a 5*****. Ears, nails, face, pom on top, pouf at tail - ALL good. And, Ms. Margaret is about as sweet as they come! A real angel. You can tell they adore dogs. Our poodle is a hefty 11 pounds, cost w/ tax is: $48.71. Worth every penny! Oh, and I like how they respect time. I call, set appointment, and on her grooming day ... within 2 - 3 hours of drop off/appt. time/they call and ...she's ready. Now that's great business! Missy Belle's Mom read more

my family loved this place. We tried it once with a coupon listed in the kingwood living magazine and took our dogs in for a bath. They loved it! I bought my daughter. A gift certificate from Furbabies. She tried to use it today OMG. Her Bassett hound went in for a nail clipping and came out with a nose bleed, the nose bleed was caused by the tech letting him fall off the table with a noose around his neck, He nearly hung the dog. He was not professional the table was also covered in dog poop, from previous dogs, plus he had no idea what he was doing. My daughter is so upset and disappointed and I am upset as I bought the gift certificate. She is on the way to the vet right now to get him checked out. NOT HAPPY. read more

Fur Babies offers caring and expert dog grooming services and high quality pet products. However, the staff does not extend the same care toward its human customers by not wearing protective face masks during the height of the pandemic. I will not patronize Fur Babies until they educate themselves and take the necessary precautions to protect both themselves and their customers." read more

My dog HATES a bath and is very stubborn and has been known to bite :/ However, she does great at this place! They always let us wait for her when she's getting a bath and we can watch, which is the best! They've always been so so nice and so patient with my pup, which is perfect! First time coming to fur babies. My dog is a legit rescue whose nails were so long they were beginning to curl under. After a very traumatic experience at Petsmart, we did some research before taking our fur baby to another groomer. We decided to give Fur Babies a try and that was our best decision ever!!! I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. The ladies here are so sweet and accommodating. I have a senior Welsh Corgi that cannot walk on his back legs. I know just how difficult grooming him can be since he cannot stand up on his own. They always take excellent care of him and do a wonderful job on his grooming. I would recommend them to everyone in the Kingwood area. I've taken my dogs other places even before my dog's legs went out and the service was never this good.
