So I hate to do this. But ever since Greenlin took over this location I have been beyond…read moredisappointed. When it was Keystone, I paid $5000 for a two week board and train. The results were amazing! We have a 1 1/2 year old Boxer puppy...by definition he is a spaz. At Keystone, they welcomed him with open arms and understood he was just a baby. Once Greenlin took over, it went downhill FAST. We paid about $275 for a daycare package. The staff decided he was too energetic and required him to have more training. This cost us $50 EVERY SINGLE TIME he is there. They don't deduct from the package, this is further out of pocket. So, we pay $50 per visit for him to be on a leash and nowhere near the other dogs. A staff member told us they believe this has been blown way out of proportion and that he doesn't need additional training. They also say if it were their dog, they would go elsewhere. This speaks volumes to me. He's a freaking puppy without a mean bone in his body! My husband called and left a message asking for a refund of the daycare package WE PAID FOR AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED. Can you guess if we got a call back? Of course we didn't. So, guess what? They are losing our business and I will be sure to let everyone I know how we and our puppy have been treated. They rob you of your original $ and look at you as a cash cow. You won't be looking at our puppy (or us) as cash cows anymore. Extremely pissed off and disappointed in this place! Avoid at all costs unless you want to be ripped off like us.

I had not heard of Redfern before the rescue volunteer we adopted our pup from mentioned how much she liked them, and I'm so glad she did. We've never done any type of formal training classes with dogs we adopted before and after seeing the progress were making with our puppy I wish we had. Well worth the time and investment. Definitely planning to come back for more of the classes offered!

At the end of the first course, the Beginner Puppy class, we were presented with a certificate of completion and a beautiful packet of photos that they took - worthy of being framed. They also filled out the paperwork to be sent into the AKC for their S.T.A.R. Puppy certification. I am proud to have that certificate because it reminds me of my commitment to raising a good dog. I love taking classes at this place. I did sign up for a class at a different local business and can give a good comparison. At Redfern, we start out, sitting in a comfortable circle with our dogs and there are places along the wall where we can hook up to a chain so our hands are free, when needed. My puppy was originally very hyper so I welcomed the break from reigning her in. The instructors at Redfern are very patient and they follow a set curriculum. They are quick to praise baby steps and always made me feel like I was doing the right things be bringing Hero for training. Beyond that, they have been available to me for email support and that has meant a lot to me. I highly recommend Redfern Canines.

Services include pet training classes, grooming, and a veterinary. Customer service has never been an issue. They help me find what I need, even occasionally offer alternative suggestions. My only suggestion to improve customer would be please streamline check out process. Try to Visualize a Visio flowchart or code; At checkout your asked for your rewards info. New rewards members are registered at that time. It often takes minutes. The Cashier asks if you want to contribute to "Name your pet Charity" When paying you're asked again if to donate. You're required to navigate even more menu options before getting a receipt. The whole check out process is a Killjoy. Seriously , it's an utterly soul sucking experience. Willing to bet it's not much better for the poor (often lone) cashier looking out at a line of exasperated, toe tapping customers; eyes glued to their phones huffing & puffing. Very cumbersome, time consuming process. I like PetSmart, but I dread the checkout process. Imagine coming in at lunch, there's a line of 4 people and it takes ten minutes to checkout! I believe this has little to with the cashier, and more an issue with upselling mandated by Corporate. I've encountered painfully slow checkouts at numerous other locations. New, old, north, south it's always the same.

The person made the appointment and then after I dropped him off said they do not have time to do the full haircut but could do a "Bath and Trim" for $72 which is not even listed on the website . When I asked what the package included, it matched the services in the "Bath and Brush" package but they were going to charge much more. I conceded and got the "Bath and Brush". Now I'll have to pay again to get the haircut, which of course means I have to pay for the bath again because it's base.. Worse than that, It looks just awful. Ashlynn T did a terrible job. What were they thinking I wish they would have just said they didn't have time to do the "Bath and Full Haircut " so I could have scheduled an appointment for when they could do it instead of having to do this twice I usually go to Mechanicsburg store and never had an issue there. The few workers they did have looked completely overwhelmed, running around like headless chickens while customers stood around waiting for help that never came. The shelves were half-stocked, the lines at the register moved at a snail's pace, and don't even get me started on the grooming department--appointments backed up, frustrated pet parents pacing around, and the poor groomers barely keeping up. If this place is so understaffed, maybe they should actually hire more people instead of leaving both employees and customers hanging. At this point, you'd get better service training a goldfish to ring you up. PetSmart, do better.

So my husband started Googling and found Knucklehead K9. He called & left a msg and Tony called us back within minutes! He gave us all the details of his programs and pricing, and we setup an appt. From the first session Tony set the tone and showed Yolo who was in charge. We were astonished at how quickly he got our dog to listen with just patience, clear direction & treats! My husband and I needed the most training lol! Tony really understands dogs and how they think. He rewards with treats and praise for good behavior and corrects with firm direction for negative behavior. He really taught us how to be our dog's leader. We really liked his training techniques and learned SO much! He is very straight forward and does not sugar coat. It is truly about the owners being consistent and firm. If you're ready for a real dog trainer then Tony is your guy! But YOU better be ready to do the work! We are so much happier with our dog. He's a year old now and we can honestly say he's a GOOD DOG! This is the best boarding facility I have ever taken my beagle to. I pay for a few extra perks for my boy, like one or two nature walks a day. There's a play yard for supervised play with the other dogs. You can rest assured the other dogs are healthy, vet records showing up to date shots are required as well as a bordetella for kennel cough. I can go on vacation or just a weekend knowing he is not in a small kennel most of the day and is in good hands. I'd say $$ in general plus whatever extras you may want. I highly recommend

It was also nice to see dogs out for walks every time we visited whether for drop off or pick up. They offer a wonderful assortment of ways to 'keep in touch'. In addition to the extras we signed up for we appreciated their private FB page - it was fun seeing our dog in the action pics! We also appreciated the convenience of their texting line for their questions etc. Despite our dog's tendency to be timid / slow to warm up they met him where he was and made it a nice stay. He was not stressed at all after the experience and we easily picked up our normal routine when we got home. We would book again without any hesitation.

I anticipated letting my husband do the actual training and just watch, but he made it look so easy that I volunteered to try walking him. wow, to say I was shocked and pleased is an understatement. I will be putting in some steps over the next couple of weeks to reinforce my training, but I already feel confident with what he has taught us. in 3 sessions our dog no longer jumps on us, has played with Brennans dog with no aggression, and was able to walk nicely for an hour with people and even dogs passing us. He was so willing to help that he decided it would be best to take her to his house so that he could work with her around the clock. He kept Maggie for a week. She has been home with us for a few weeks now and is a different dog. When he had her, he kept us updated with phone calls and videos every day. I would highly recommend Brennen to anyone in need.
