Always seem to have problems when I come to PetCo either for a product or VetCo for my pets. I will be taking my pets to a completely different different vet and shipping elsewhere. Bet wanted to charge me nearly $300 for a simple pee panel, and didn't even check over my cat. Now at a different location, this one, I had a coupon to use but, apparently you need to spend $30. No where anywhere on anything does it say I need to spend $30 to use this coupon. Lady was rude and also buy on app as they are cheaper then in store. $16 for item is $20 in store. Even if using "loyalty program" or whatever rewards they make me enter my number. Will go to PetSmart, or Chewy from now on and I will look for an actual vet, not drop outs who don't care about animals, and care more their pay and breaks, then taking care of pets. read more

See pictures attached - Beyond disgusting and disappointing experience. I was shopping and saw multiple dead goldfish in the tank. Some were legitimately eating the MULTIPLE dead goldfish simultaneously that were on the bottom of the tank, so much so that the flesh was gone. It was the tank of goldfish to the right of what looked like the employee office if that helps. I was standing horrified and a male employee comes out of the door (what appears to be the office) and I point to the tank and tell him that multiple are dead. He responded "that just happens" and went into the office and slammed the door. I responded by saying "can you at least take them out?" and by that point he had already slammed the door on me and couldn't hear me. It was a split second interaction and it was absolutely disgusting. I walked around to try and find another employee and found Kelly. I had told her the situation and she ensured that it would be taken care of and that she would talk to the employee who was so dismissive of me. I explained to her that I have 3 dogs and have had fish growing up, but this would be my first fish as an adult (23 y/o) so this was an extremely poor experience. I left the store and came back 15 minutes later and the fish were STILL dead in the tank. I approached Kelly again and she said she spoke with the staff member. Why weren't the dead fish removed from the tank? On some level I understand the situation, in a tank full of 40+ fish there are bound to be a few that are not well. I get it. It's nature and it is the way it is. HOWEVER, there was clearly NO promptness or urgency to do anything about it after I had brought it to multiple staff's attention. I gave this place a one star it should be a quarter star every time I go in to the store to get my dog prescription canned dog food they never have it. The shelves are always empty. This was the eighth time I went in just now the guy went in the back to look for it. They have pallets and pallets of cans dog food, but it could be at the bottom of it. He said they obviously don't have enough people working there to get the products out on the shelf. The shelves are empty. It's ridiculous. I'm so over the store now. I've gotta drive up to Coral Springs to see if they have it and they usually have it. I don't even know why I waste my time stopping at the one in Deerfield Beach on Hillsborough Boulevard. The guy who did check for me was nice and apologized. I guess he just doesn't have anybody to put the stuff on the shelves, but this is every time I go in there. I'm over it. I popped in to pick up 2 items. Easy right? No, it was a pain in my you know what. The store is not organized and finding an associate to assist was not easy. To be blunt, the store is a nightmare. In my opinion their prices are HIGH. Much more expensive than Pet Supermarket and Petsmart. I did leave with my two items but it was more of a hassle than what it was worth. They offer curbside pickup which is great, in case I have to come back for any reason. My high point was getting a decaf Frappuccino at the Starbucks located in the same plaza. GROOMING REVIEW- My dog had a cut on his testicles and they were so red and swollen. His haircut was terrible. His ears weren't even the same length. They cut off all his whiskers and eyelashes.... Megan was so rude, I said I had a younger dog and she was like "ugh oh god." I should have just left after that. PLEASE consider going somewhere else!! Would never recommend a place that cuts the dogs they work on...... I had to bring him back in because of how uneven the haircut was and it was still terrible. Took my little Maltese for a full grooming, nails and teeth appointment. I checked her in just to receive a phone call 1 hour after I left her that they would not provide the service because my Maltese was having her period and it was against company policy. By that time I was very far and my wife was getting ready to leave her work in the middle of the day to pick up the dog. I managed to go back to the store at the cost of canceling important commitments. When I returned to Petco I graciously accepted some justification behind the cancelled services (arguing the dog would be sensitive in some areas, etc.). Yet, I thought that all waste of time, gas, etc. could have been avoided if her condition had been checked at the time the appointment was set or at check-in the latest. But to add insult to injury, back at home I noticed that they had already started the grooming and then stopped, leaving my little dog with a bad shaved streak on the top of her back! They didn't even mentioned the fact that they had already started and stopped midway when I picked up the dog. Probably hoping I would not notice... (how could I? Look at the attached pictures!). The veterinarian care at this location is awful! I took my kitten to them because he has something wrong and hasn't pooped in days and they examined him and said he's fine. Online it says the first visit is free but they proceeded to charge me $55 for doing nothing! Then I called him back 2 days later because the kitten still cannot poop and Dr. Barcala doesn't have time to speak to me so MAYBE he will call later if he has time. Can't even make this shit up! I found this 4 day old kitten in the street after someone threw him out of a car window and I'm trying to save his life and this veterinarian couldn't care less if the kitten is okay. Horrible grooming done on my Dog!! I made a reservation online for my chichi for Christmas Eve for a bath and grooming, when my husband dropped him off he was told by an older groomer that she didn't have time to shave my dog and that I had made an appointment for a bath only. I spoke to her on the phone and advised her that I was not wrong that I was looking at the confirmation email and it clearly reads that I booked for bath and grooming for a cost of $43 she continue to say I was wrong and it was very rude. I asked my husband to speak to a manager and forwarded him my confirmation email. Later, my husband mentioned she was looking at the wrong reservation and took my Dog in. When I got home and i looked at my dog I notice what a horrible cut they gave him! He has bald spots, and it was left with barely any whiskers. WORST SERVICE EVER! I came back for a courtesy visit to check my dog and I spend more than 1 hour just WAITING!! The dog have to get the bladder full to perform some exams and test's that they never told me how much it cost me!! The veterinarian poor communication, very overbearing and overwhelmed doing 4 times at the same time and in my consultation was a mess. I ask how long it takes and they told Me that I can leave the dog and came back later today to perform again some test that I don't know the price or even an estimate!!! This review is for their grooming service. Bottom line if you want your dog to be traumatized and scared and walk out with a terrible cut. This is your place. In this case the woman shaved my dogs hair to the bone i doubt she even wash or groom the dog. I dont know if she was having a bad day or just a terrible and lazy groomer. This is complete unnecessary and extreme. Its the easy way so there no blow dry or styling needed. I had to take my dog to the vet because he was sick and not behaving normal for a week. Finally decided to take my dog in and just do walk in, met by a rude staff member who clearly had better things to do. Was told I had to make an appointment, I tried to tell her that the website said it was walk in, and I had tried to call. Uninterested in helping. The girl was clearly more interested in going outside to sit on her phone and take a break than offering real help. My girlfriend compulsively bought a puppy today. I needed a collar and some bones for him so we took him to this PetCo location. The staff at this location was extremely helpful, and knowledgeable. I has excited when they opened Approx. 6 years ago as they had an excellent owner and great selection of dog food , toys .sales and grooming services and then it all took a downward spiral in 2020 , they had poor selection of dog food / overpriced toys ,no sales poor customer service . they opened up an in store Vet clinic and I tried it x2 and was upset that they took my dog into an exam room and would not let me accompany him ,the vet tech. came and told me that he needed to stay for a few hours as they needed to run tests as he was too hyper I was reluctant but agreed and overheard another tech. speaking to a dog owner about that the dog had an eye infection and was giving eye med. instr. ,I left was called 4-5 laters to P/u my dog only to find out he was never let out of a crate given no meds paid $$$$$$ and after was home he had an eye infection ,the holding area is dirty ,not cleaned . My next visit approx. 2 yrs. later was urgent and once again my dog was taken away into an exam room w/o me , I waited and was told that he needed RLE /knee surgery and must have labs and come back the next day for x-ray /CT scan and be sedated !!! I asked about a price and the staff was rude that I asked , I was charged $$$$ for the visit and sm. amt. of meds //labs . I did not return and my dog recovered thru massage therapy , much to my surprise my dog got a keloid to his LLE from labs and if it gets rubbed or he is playing rough it bleeds all over . We purchase a lot of Soulistic, specifically chicken and tuna for our cats. The purchased are made online because the stores never have more than one tray (8. cans) at any one time. Four flats were ordered and two flats came as the wrong product. So off we go to Petco. Typically, they offer an exchange so we found 9 cans. Here is where the sparks started flying. Their computer can't handle the difference between orders sold online vs in store. The problem was the tax. Were talking about pennies north of a dollar. Well we have a real problem with paying tax twice, not to mention inconvenience of having to go to the store to exchange the company's mistake. So the manager goes on about she can't refund the buck. How bout a store credit instead we received a bunch of attitude. What store wants to loose a customer over $1? Spoiler: it wasn't about one dollar! read more

Petco is a great place to buy supplies for your pet. I love to go there and use my rewards card to get a discount on dog food, toys, etc. They have bird supplies, cat supplies, everything pet related that you can think of. Petco also sells tropical fish and other pets. They have everything at discount prices. There is a table where they have even cheaper items that you can pick up at close-out prices. I bought toys for my new Labrador Retriever, Onyx at Petco. The staff was very helpful in assisting me to find items that were suitable for my dog. They also offer training classes that could come in handy! read more

Purchased a pair of dog nail clippers for $15.00 asked the clerk before purchase if these would work on a large dog with thick nails, she assured me they would be fine. Clipped one nail and they shattered in 5 pieces. Attempted to return them to the store and was denied due to covid 1. You are a pet store. 2. No one will be consuming or repurchasing broken cheap nail clippers. 3 why would you offer to return them when this is over? If they infected now they will be then. 4. They are broken you are going to send them back to the manufacturer anyway !!!!! Will never shop here again! Threw clippers in the trash can outside of the store. Lesson learned read more

Welcome to the worst, unprofessional, unorganized, rude grooming services ever! If you have a puppy even don't bother to go there. I have 2 dogs, one of them is 7 months old. Last month we were there and it was little one's first grooming. I got a call from the groomer and she said she will do only bath because he was so scared. I said ok no problem, thanks for letting me know. When my older dog was ready I picked them up together. It was not a big deal. Than couple of days ago I got a call from petco for an another appointment reminder. I didn't take the appointment but probably system automatically gives you one. I didn't cancel and today went there. I said "last time my puppy got scared so if it happens again just do the bath please like last time." and they didn't accept my puppy. They set the appointment without asking me, they called me to remind it and they canceled it while I was there on time. Most probably I'll never shop from the store again because I can't handle all those rude people in there. You lost 2 dogs, 1 fish, dozens of wild birds and ducks as a customer. read more

I have taken my dog here for the last 2 1/2 years. Most of the time it has been good the last 2 times: an absolute disaster this last time they took 6 1/2 hours I specifically asked to cut his hair but not too much but they did anyways the nails we left too long the face smelled like if hadn't been washed told them I wanted to grow his pony tail (he is a shih tzu) they cut the hair around it in different length. I called in the morning to complain spoke to the manager who told me that I had to take my dog to the vet because she did wash his face but my dog had very oily skin and didn't bother to say something positive when I told her that would be the last time I would bring him here she said ok we will miss him. Went in to purchase kitty litter... one bucket was 30 lbs, the other 15 lbs. Even though I work out at the gym, carrying these items isn't easy. And when I went to the register, nobody was there. I had to scour the store to find someone who was with another customer, and when I asked if there was a cashier anywhere she said quite rudely, "when I'm done with him I'll check you out." This review is for the vet services. Took my dog who injured his back leg.. Friendly reception, the issue is incompetence and not willing to listen. From the moment both the vet tech assistant as well as doctor saw me they had decided it was a knee issue because he was a little dog before exam, xrays . They inform me they want to X-ray his back too I said ok. I did explain he was putting no weight on his back leg at all. The X-ray showed a problem with other knee, not the one he was favoring. Doctor kept insisting it was the same problem as other knee just not showing in X-ray. So why is he not able to walk on the bad one?? The X-ray was from ankle up and as it showed no problem in that leg I asked to get another X-ray of his ankle and foot, they said I would have to pay to get another X-ray done. I just spent $400 on a partial leg and back X-ray on a dog that put no pressure on a leg. I would think they would get entire leg! Also the lady vet tech or whatever in the small room with me wore her mask on her chin. I was too dumbfounded to speak up. All they did was try to up sell me on neutering and doc was going to call surgeon. For a problem he had on the good knee!! Incompetence and when I tried to give them a chance to correct it they said it was doctors discretion where they took the X-ray so if I wanted one of the whole leg I'd have to pay for it. I took him to a different vet the next day to get him a real diagnosis and on the path to heal. I would rather pay triple and get my dog real care. read more
