I find the service given to my dog very loving and gentle. I am not a regular, as I don't live here, but am very pleased with how he looks and feels after his "salon" visit. The days after grooming I get a lot of compliments from people I know who I meet during walks. It's also a nice check to make sure no fleas or other problems since I walk him in unmanicured areas and we go to doggie parks. The owner seems very caring and genuinely fond of his doggie clients. A good recommendation is that in season you need to make an appointment pretty far in advance. The location is not typical Boca -- facing tracks on Dixie -- which is kind of nice too. I am disappointed in Andy as a business owner. As a dog groomer, he did a great job with my Lhasa. Like a few people that left him a bad review here, I also missed an an appointment after 8 years and tried to reschedule for my dog due to a family emergency, and he never answered my calls no matter the numerous times I left messages. I am also a business owner and understand that you lose money for last minute cancellations or no shows but he does have a cancellation policy for starters, doesn't confirm his appointments or send reminders which is necessary to run a business. I have referred numerous clients to him over the years and have supported his business. As a long time customer I expected to be treated better and very least deserved a response. read more

Great groomer but ... I brought by two dogs to Andy when we first moved to Boca. He did a great job. I got delayed out of town and called two days before our next appointment and left a message asking to be rescheduled. I didn't hear back but didn't worry as I would just call when I was back in town. When I returned a month later and called, Andy said that I had not shown up for the last appointment. I told him that I had called a left a message but he said I didn't. The phone call then mysteriously cut off. I looked up my phone record and dropped by the shop in an effort to clear up the misunderstanding. When I showed Andy the call I record, he said it didn't matter, he wouldn't work with me. I said that I understood that it was important that people keep their appointments and asked what I could do differently in the future in addition to leaving a message. He wasn't interested. I asked if I could pay for the last appointment, even though I had called 48 hrs ahead. He said he didn't want my business. So now I'm looking for another groomer. If you choose to go here, stay on Andy's good side, because he'll hold a grudge for no reason even if it's not in his own best interest. read more

Some were subpar, didn't listen to what we wanted, weren't personable, unorganized and didn't even have us on the schedule, etc. But no issues with this place! We like the owner and his work. I just moved to the area recently and I've been on the hunt for a quality groomer for my little Yorkie Poodle. I've had groomers in the past (Fur Crazy!) that cut my dog and claimed she was not well behaved. My normal groomer is always booked. After reading reviews online about East Side Pet Grooming, I made the call and set up an appointment. I was immediately greeted by the owner over the phone, who promptly answered all of my questions with patience. He had a spot open the very next morning and I brought her in. My dog is very friendly and took a liking to him immediately. I picked her up approximately two hours later and she looked like a brand new dog! She was happy, tail wagging and she looked even better than what I requested. I would highly highly highly recommend coming here! I know I will be bringing my little one back again! read more

Took our Yorkie Mickey for the first time last week. I asked Andy for a Schnauzer cut and was not disappointed. He did a beautiful job, with one tiny exception - the right side of his mustache is a little longer than the left side. All in all, Mickey looks great. We will return to Andy! Took my dog here three times, first time they cut my dogs foot causing bad inflammation but I thought it was a simple mistake. Second time I realize his stomach was red like they cut him a bit while shaving him, and third time, and officially my Last ever! Probably due to poor sanitary conditions, this place caused my dogs skin around his eyes to have a horrible infection, he has had No sort of problem whatsoever before I took him there, and my dog was completely terrified of the guy, crying everytime he got close or touched my dog, which does not happen at Petco or any of the grooming places I've previously brought him to, or anyone period. He also charged me $60 for my poodle, when I could have taken him to Petco with a better job done for a cheaper price, and no infection and vet bills. Never going here again. read more

I waited too long to book Slainte', my Shih tzu for her Easter outfit! Andy is booked solid til next week!! It is obvious that Boca has learned East Side w Andy is the very best & calming for our pets. Slainte' hates her face being combed by anyone but him. Other groomers I have used; ESPECIALLY the PAW DEPOT in KMART plaza off of Palmetto, was brutal & disastrous for her. They didn't even know that this breed has additional nails which led to her nail growing into her skin! Don't use Paw Depot! Andy is not only such a nice person, but he's great at his job, accommodating and always takes good care of my pup. I never feel anxious when I leave my pup- in fact it's almost a relief for when I run errands (he does daycare, too). I think his calm temperament makes all dogs and owners feel at ease. When I moved back south, my dogs grooming hasn't been the same since - and now I make sure I take the time to drive north so she can go to the best!
