Desiree is absolutely amazing with our fur babies. We have been taking our fur babies to Desiree for over 16 years. I would never use anybody else to take care of my pups. Her mother runs the front desk of her business. Susan is wonderful as well. Take my word for it I'd never steer you wrong I actually rate my experience as 10+++

I got to talk to the groomer before she worked on my dog and I liked her. She did a good job. He looked adorable as ever. The place is located in corner. It was so easy to find. There are more parking spaces in the back. The parking parking in the front is a little limited.

We were on the hunt for a cage free groomer and found this spot. I called in the morning and they had a spot available right away. As a first time customer the store offered 10% right away, which was so nice. When we spoke on the phone, it was the first place that ever asked for our Bordetella and Rabies shots information. They wanted to be sure our dog was up to date on her shots so that the other dogs wouldn't get sick. And if we didn't have the info or was not up to date, we wouldn't be allowed to visit, which we so appreciate. Typically, I would say it takes four to five hours to get a dog groomed, but my dog was done in three. Dogs would be allowed to stay up to two hours after if needed though. I got a text when she was ready and couldn't be happier with the results. If you want to save a bit to avoid 3% credit card fee, pay in cash. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

They were so good with Coco and even gave a little bandana so cute 10/10

I've been a customer for probably almost 3 years now. I found Scruffy to Fluffy here on yelp with exceptional reviews and I drive from Boca passing at least 10 other groomers on my route. We've grown comfortable here and my animals are no longer nervous like they are when trying something new. It's very convenient for me that they offer walk in hours, M-F from I think 10-2, which works great for me since I can squeeze in nail trims when I have time rather than book ahead and have to change. My pups enjoy the tummy rubs and a treat for being so good and they always leave looking cute. Everyone is very nice and caring. Susan is a pleasure to talk with while I am waiting and they accept most forms of payment. Credit cards have a 3% fee so bring cash if you've got it and you prefer savings over points. My animals are short hair but I've seen some fluffy dogs coming out with fabulous hair cuts. This place is worth coming to even if it's a bit out of your way. I do.

Second time nails do not get trimmed with service. First time I thought it was a fluke, they mentioned he just 'wasn't having it' yet he's always gotten nails trimmed everywhere else. Price for product, without doing the nails, is not worth the visit. read more

They have always taken care of my year and a half old Teddy Bear, Turner. My fault the grooming was delayed and Turner was a mess. Badly matted and knotted everywhere. It took 4 hours, but he was meticulously groomed and it took a while to get every knot out and needed to be shaved. Being a first time dog owner, I was a nervous wreck which is not me. Sweet Susan was so compassionate to me and talked me through this arduous process. Turner came home without the fluff and is acting like a happy puppy again. No problems whatsoever. All the groomers are great and I thank Lucy for her great work. Now going forward, we will groom Turner more often as his hair grows bag. Thanks everyone! read more

History

Established in 2011.

Here's the story behind Scruffy To Fluffy Inc. and what makes our grooming salon so special. I discovered the world of dog and cat grooming by chance while working as an after-school counselor and attending college to become a teacher. One summer, I helped a friend’s mother as a bather at her grooming salon and enjoyed every minute of it. Soon enough, I was styling and learning techniques to make the grooming experience fun and comfortable for my furry friends. I knew this was my passion, and eight years later, I opened my very own professional dog and cat grooming salon. We have a deep compassion for animals, and for us, this job is about much more than just grooming. We take great pride in being able to recognize each animal’s "pet peeves" and working with them to ensure they can relax and truly enjoy their spa day. Desiree and the team specialize in all breeds—large, small, young, and old. We look forward to the opportunity to care for your pets.

Meet the Business Owner: Désireé P.

My name is Desirée. I've been fascinated by animals as long as I can remember. I had a dog walking business at the age of 7. I also volunteered anywhere I could to help with animal adoptions and in the kennels of humane societies. My love for and constant exposure to animals has resulted in my rescuing animals in need. Even today, I have rescued and brought home all my beloved pets. It seems as though my love for animals has been passed down from my family. As we all have been and are still looking out for the little ones. I have yearned to provide a facility that gives our beloved Pets the proper care they deserve. So I opened a pet salon that provides just that.

I absolutely adore Scruffy to Fluffy as does my Shih Tzu mix, Lacy. Her first appointment was at only 10 weeks old ... and she loves to "visit" Ms. Desiree even now, almost 2 years later. She's a handful, high-energy and usually full of knots (sorry!) but she always comes out looking and smelling delicious - and most importantly happy as can be. You will definitely, definitely, definitely be glad you took your fur baby to S2F. It's a bit of a ride for us from Coconut Creek, but well worth it. I did try one or two groomers for a "quick fix" and my poor baby trembled so much we didn't have the heart to leave her. With Desiree, she can't wait to go play with her "friends", furry and otherwise. She thinks it's a spa day! PS - Although my dog looks a lot like Pappy H's (they could be twins), they are not related ... or maybe they are and we don't know it??? :) read more

I absolutely LOVE Scruffy to Fluffy! This place actually has professional groomers who know how to groom! I have 3 dogs, each one is a different breed, which requires a different style of cut for each dog. Julie grooms my dogs and she has amazing grooming skills! All the employees are kind and caring people who genuinely care about making sure the dogs are loved and cared for! The place is relaxed and calm. My dogs always come out happy, never shy or scared after their day there, and that is a testimony in itself to me! Susan is awesome and helpful when I come in with my dogs! Julie ALWAYS comes out and greets the dogs and me and asks each time, what kind of cut or grooming I want done! I appreciate that! Love everything about this place! Cannot recommend Scruffy to Fluffy enough. If you are looking for kind hearted people to love on your pets and make them beautiful this is the place! New to the area and asked around at local dog parks where to take our 2 year old Golden Retriever. Several people recommended Scruffy to Fluffy. I read reviews online, called and took my dog to have his nails trimmed first to meet them. Susan and all of the staff were incredibly welcoming, sweet and it is so evident they love animals. Brought my dog back for a groom and it was wonderful. His coat looked amazing and he looked genuinely happy while he was there. I will definitely be returning. read more

!!!!!HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! 8/19/15 We took our happy, fiesty little shih-tzu puppy Bentley there today on a recommendation to get a summer puppy cut and WOW! Kathy did an AMAZING job!!! Taking my 2 rescue babies to scruffy to fluffy is so comforting for me. I always need to know they are in good hands and in a safe environment. This grooming shop is top of the line with professionalism, cleanliness and friendliness. Their groomers are so talented and they really care about the clients and the needs of their fur babies. Having to find a new groomer because I am on an extended stay in Florida, I was definitely nervous I would not find a great groomer for Jelly Bean and Swee pea!. Well, I can say I was very very happy with everyone at Scruffy to Fluffy from the warm and insuring welcome I received from Desiree's mom to the 2 lovely groomers who quizzed me on exactly what my desired expectations would be!. I can not thank Scruffy to Fluffy enough for the amazing job they did on my little guy Lucas. We are on vacation and they were able to get him in upon my request quickly. Lucas is in kidney failure and hasn't gotten a haircut in awhile. Troy did an amazing job! Since Lucas's groom, he's been running around wagging his tail and looking proud. Scruffy to Fluffy is by far the BEST grooming spot I've ever been to! The staff is absolutely outstanding. I was greeted in the most friendly way and my chihuahuas were instantly loved. Upon pick up, my "girls" were absolutely adorable...such a great job by the groomer, Ruth! I just can't say enough about this little hidden gem of a place! Scruffy to Fluffy is top dog! Their attention to grooming detail is second to none, and their genuine love for animals is apparent. On top of that, their staff is friendly, personable, and accommodating. Julie is FANTASTIC and has groomed my miniature schnauzer for over 13 yrs. Package deal. Best Groomer Ever!!! Desiree has been taking care of my little girl for years. Have always had tough time finding groomer and now I have found the best! Suggested awhile back that I get my girl's eyes checked because she had signs (that I missed) of glaucoma. Because of Desiree, docs were able to treat early and prevent vision loss. My pup Libby starts getting very excited in the car when we approach Scruffy and Fluffy's. She can't wait to run into Susan and then loves being pampered by the awesome groomers . It is a wonderful family run business and everyone makes you feel like you are part of the family. Libby love to play with the other dogs once she is groomed and I know she is in good hands. Best dog groomer, period! Other places I have taken my Teddy must have scared him. He would "put on the brakes" and not want to go in. Not so at Scruffy to Fluffy, Teddy loves Julie and runs to her to give puppy kisses! She does a great job, and you can see that she genuinely cares. Absolutelyove this groomer! My 11 year old Shih Tzu has been with them since her first puppy cut and I can't imagine taking her anywhere else! She walks in here tail wagging, a great recommendation. My dog Stella has been groomed by the wonderful talented , professional girls at Scruffy to Fluffy for around 10 years. She has a great time while there playing with her doggie friends too. Amazing, caring, and comforting groomers!! I love that the dogs get to run free when they aren't being groomed. Sounds crazy but I think my dog actually had fun lol? Everything went well as usual. There's a reason why Google reviews are all 5 stars. They are so caring to the specific needs of every pet.
