We rescued our pittie, Tilly, in Pennsylvania after she had been left outside for seven months and without food for at least several weeks. After spending two weeks with us there, we drove with her to Florida, where we are living for four months.
Tilly is incredibly sweet, but she struggled with pulling on the leash, barking, reactivity, and listening. She also had no door manners when guests arrived. We reached out to Avi, and he responded immediately, offering guidance and--most importantly--hope.
We saw results during Avi's very first visit, where we focused on confident loose-leash walking and door manners. Over the course of the month, not only did Tilly's confidence soar, but our confidence as handlers improved dramatically as well. We can now walk Tilly confidently on a loose leash, and she truly is a perfect lady. She reliably "leaves" high-value toys and treats when directed and has shown tremendous improvement at the door. While we are still working on her stay and recall, Avi gave us the tools and knowledge to continue mastering those skills.
Avi is kind, humane, and clearly passionate about what he does--we affectionately call him "the dog whisperer." He formed an instant bond with Tilly the moment he walked into our home. Avi understands the behavioral differences between breeds and took the time to see Tilly as an individual, thoughtfully considering her history of abuse while also understanding who we are as owners. We feel incredibly fortunate that we--and Tilly--found Avi, and we would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking compassionate, effective dog training. read more
