Dog Grooming - Friendly staff, the app makes it very easy to book appointments, lots of availability, and facilities seem well maintained. The grooming services were performed well (I'm not an expert but no noticeable problems). My one gripe with the service is the pricing. If you book a basic wash and cut, expect to add at least another $15 or more in various fees. This just seems deceptive and has caught me off guard. I go in expecting to pay $65 and I get a bill for $90. I know the fees can vary depending on breeds, hair length, etc but this can be communicated beforehand. read more

I brought my dog here for years for routine check ups. She never really had any issues before. But when I actually had a concern it kept getting dismissed by multiple vets at this saw clinic. She was having a lot of itching and hair loss. I was told that the hair loss is just normal for her breed and that's what's likely causing the issue. I was never even offered anything to treat the itching. After being told this for the 3rd time, and with my dog experiencing progressive hair loss and worsening itching, I finally took her somewhere else. After just one visit at another vet clinic, the vet went over treatment options and rightly guessed that my dog was having allergies based on where her hair loss was and where she was itching. She even discussed other causes if this treatment didn't work. Petco didn't even ask me this. Since starting a prescription allergy pill her itching has greatly decreased and her hair is growing back. Looks like it wasn't just her breed's genetics. read more

If I have an option to give a 0 star I would've. My girlfriend and Ihad a very disappointing experience at this grooming salon. I dropped off ourthree dogs at 9 AM, expecting a professional grooming service. After a long wait until 3 PM, I was frustrated to find that my two schnauzers and our mixed breed had not been groomed at all! For six hours, they were there, and it was clear that the groomer didn't even bother to address their needs. My girlfriend was understandably upset and ended up bringing the dogs home to groom them herself. This experience was not worth the money or the time spent. I am leaving no stars. The experience i had with the self service dog wash was THE WORST! And the people at the checkout were nowhere to be found. I got only 2 towels. Mind you I have a husky German shepherd pretty hairy dog. I couldn't thoroughly dry him off with a blow dryer that couldn't blow a candle out. Water pressure was as though it was a water fountain. BEYOND disappointed with Petco. I would recommend Pet Supplies self service wash everyday of the week. Do better Petco. Pathetic. read more

First they said I didn't have an appointment and could only get a wash, I told them I had an appointment for a wash and a cut , then they said I was at the wrong location. I was informed that they are short-staffed and was turned away for being 10 minutes late to a vet appointment. I understand that businesses must have guidelines on appointment times; however, there should always be room to demonstrate your company's dedication to the community. At no point did I feel that your current employees were satisfied with their work situation. Ms. Jackie needs help. It is unfortunate that PetCo would allow this level of customer service. What is WRONG with this location. HORRIBLE staff and MANAGER! I went to pick up some free dog food that the OFFICIAL website is promoting. Friends and family have used this coupon. I go in and Doug the cashier right away tells me that coupon is fake in front of other customers. I was taken by surprise. I step aside to double check I got a legit coupon and it comes from Petco.com I ask him nicely again to just try and scan it, and he refuses, telling me he's been telling people for 3 days that that coupon is fake. That apparently "there is a real and fake coupon" and he went on and on saying this weird explanation behind this coupon. I did not believed anything he said, he seemed so shady and suspicious and annoyed by the coupon situation, like if he was losing any money out of his paycheck. I go to other location and they accepted the coupon NO PROBLEM. I go back to this location just to speak to the manager. Doug is the one that actually takes me to her, and unbeknownst to her I was standing right behind Doug, he tells her I want to talk to her and she literally threw a fit, raising her arms and complaining, when she saw me she tried to play it cool 'cause she knew I caught her doing her dumb complaining. She interrupted me EVERY 10 seconds making excuses for the store and for Doug, at the end of the day I had to call customer service over the phone to report both of them, because I did not believe she was going to do anything about her pathological lying employee. The groomer admitted she didn't listen to the instructions I had provided and the length we agreed on but had zero remorse. I just got my dog groomed for the first time. I paid over $80. I'm pretty sure they bathed him before they cut his hair because I now have hair all over me & his skin and hair are flaky. Also they missed cutting his underarm hair & all 4 of his feet are a mess & I have to now take the time to trim off the excess hair myself. I have been to a lot of pet stores in my life and this one is the best one I've been to because the people who work here are amazing. This is my favorite pet supply store and grooming service in all of Dallas. The staff here are exceptional, in particular Justin (always helps me find anything I need and has amazing skills and personality) as well as the staff in the grooming department. Brian one of the only people I feel comfortable and happy with taking my dogs too because I know they will be well taken care of and he is excellent at what he does! I recommend this location above all others, I even drive out of my way to come here now since moving. We originally were hooked on grooming our sweet baby here after we took him in and the Dog Father did such an AMAZING job and was so gentle and sweet. It was our first time in so he gave our boy a blueberry facial, no charge! Next time we came in we just needed a quick sanitary trim and shaving my boys feet. The rude groom staff did a horrible job and when I asked why it wasn't up to par with what they were used to the staff told me that the groomer I was used to was fired for what essentially was going above and beyond customer satisfaction. My mistake, I thought the staff at this Petco WANTED their customers to be happy. I was annoyed but I took my poor scared babe home and trimmed him up myself. I figured I give it another shot and scheduled a grooming for today. I'll keep it PG but to say the least I'm pissed. Two stars is me being gracious here. First off, we show up and the staff aren't wearing masks. I go to check my boy in and they can't find his shot records and refuse to take his rabies tag as proof. Even though he was seen at their vet on 1/25 of this year. Luckily I had a screen shot so we could keep the appointment. As I'm signing paperwork, I'm informed that if they find a flea on him they'll treat him right there. Except I treat him regularly and I don't want to overdose him on flea meds. I'm informed that if I don't sign they won't take him to be groomed. I should have walked out at this point. They take him back and let me know that it'll be a "few hours". We go on with our errands and pop back over 3.5 hours later where my boyfriend is informed our pup "is still being dried they told us they'd call when he was ready". We get a call 45 minutes later and go to pick him up. I don't know what clown college the groomers are attending but my cocker spaniel who went in for a summer trend came back practically shaved to the bone. He now has rashes on his belly and inner thighs. And his gorgeous ears were cut short after I specifically told them not to touch his ears or trim them. But they left his tail untouched. What in the world is wrong with these people. He came home shaking and so terrorized he wouldn't eat dinner. This is a dog that will walk through fire to get a treat and he wouldn't touch his food. After he calmed down I noticed that he's also got razor marks, at least in 5 places, that indicate the groomers were rushing so fast their electric clippers caught his fur and cut it uneven. My sweet pup, not only physically and aesthetically came back to me in a state that is completely unacceptable but I don't even want to imagine how rough they had to have been with him to be this withdrawn and terrified this long after coming home. We regularly visit hospitals and nursing homes as a therapy aid so he is socialized to the point that being handled by strangers would not do this to him. My boyfriend already called the store to let them know we were not happy and after the employee made no apology we were told to come in the next day at 9:30AM for them to fix his tail. THE STORE ISN'T EVEN OPEN UNTIL 10AM. They are delusional if they think I'm letting their employees touch my dog again but I will be at that store bright and early to make sure they know that their behavior and treatment of my pup and as a customers will not be tolerated. I don't recommend trusting your pets to these people if they can't even treat them with care and dignity, let alone do an acceptable job at performing a service. Loo read more

Taken my dog here to the Vetco services several times and always been happy with the outcome. The techs and doctors are kind and professional and are very transparent about everything. The only thing that makes me a little wary is I feel that nothing is ever done in the actual room they take you into, but instead they take the dog into a separate room and you just sit there. That has never happened to me at another vet except for obvious situations like for surgeries, etc., but not for a generic checkup and vaccination administration. Only other thing is some of the prices. I know, money is no object sometimes when it comes to caring for our pets, but some of their care prices seem awfully jacked up. I'm aware some of these things are unavoidable and out of their control, but I'm not trying to go broke just to get my pup the care he needs and deserves. I will likely return here, as I have been happy with their services, though. As for the actual store, it is fairly clean and well kept. Their stock seems to be good, but some of the things are clearly misplaced and some things are not even labeled at all, so there is no way of knowing the price until you take it to the register. Petco's great and their grooming service is even better. The guys do an amazing job and my dog doesn't seem like "get me outta here" whenever I pick her up. The groom's worth the buck and they take the time to listen to the type of cut you want and offer recommendations. Whereas some groomers leave my dog with random strands or hair here and there, the Petco groomers don't and I couldn't be happier with the results. Their service is top-notch in the grooming department. The store, on the other hand, is a bit different. When I first started coming here, I seriously thought the store was new and just opened -- it's not, it's just empty ALL the time. Customer service is touch and go; sometimes you get a friendly person, sometimes you get someone who couldn't care less to be there. They have a decent variety of toys, supplies, bedding, food, etc. and one of the best things they offer is the Pals Rewards. Being able to save money here and there is always a plus. read more

Petco is on my regular weekly round of stops as are a couple of other petstores. When you have the menagerie that we have, you have to buy lots of food on a weekly basis. What I have found is that the Perco prices are usually higher than their competition on same brands and sizes. They do have some brands though that are not rehlgularly available at other area petstores and that is what makes them a weekly stop. This also allows me to keep an eye on their saleswhicj typically takes the prices down comparably to other stores prices or sometimes, though rarely even cheaper. read more

I've used the groomers twice. Once was a few years ago when they cut my dog on the face and didn't acknowledge it and figured they would have to get better and gave them another chance last week. My dog's cut was completely uneven. Her body looked like a rocky road rather than a smooth cut. There are areas where hair is sticking out by almost an inch difference from the rest. read more

I love Petco, make sure to get the rewards card, so you can get discounts. Every time I walk in, I always have to check out the kittens up for adoption, they are so cute! I get my cat's food from here and his treats/toys. Their litter is cheaper than retail stores, so I recommend getting it from here. The staff is friendly, and if you get bored, you can go see the animals up for adoption. They have a grooming section here as well, and it looks like they offer classes for dogs. read more

I've taken my dog to get groomed here for 1.5 years on and off. Alexa was the best groomer but she's now moved to another location further away. :( Took my pup in today to get groomed and when we got home found one paw with blood with one nail cut past the quick. The grooming staff didn't mention this at all when I was in store. Called the store, grooming staff was gone so the store manager called a team member and they weren't aware of any issues. There wasn't any blood in her kennel so they didn't know there was an injury. That's how you determine if you cut a dog? Their solve was for me to come back up to the store and have them put a powder on the wound to stop the bleeding. By this point, the bleeding seemed done so now it's a waiting game on when my dog stops favoring the injury this store gave her. The manager did finally apologize as we were hanging up but did not own the mistake. This situation could have all been avoided if it was mentioned when I picked up. I get accidents happen. I contacted vetco clinic to inform them that I would be a bit behind . Once I arrived I was told I would have to reschedule. As I have a very busy schedule I'm not able to reschedule & requested to speak to the manager. Another customer came in and we had a great conversation & she then stated she was late as well as they brought her on back. The assistant manager Erik Amador then comes out and stated that they can see but it will be on there terms since this is the second time I have scheduled this appointment, as if it's a problem that I rescheduled the previous appointment. He then stated that I will have to wait in the exam room about 30 to 40 minutes before being seen. I agreed and told him he does not have to have an attitude. He then stated you can leave , I then requested to speak with the manager above him and Dr. Lacey Coalson came out. I advised what the issue was and how I was unhappy with his service. I then asked how would you be able to resolve this issue. He then stated that if you don't like our service you can leave!! Extremely unprofessional and unwilling to help me as a long time customer. He then turned his back towards me and left me there with no resolution. He also mean mugged me which felt like racial profiling. I have contacted the BBB and corporate and fully anticipate contacting my lawyer. read more

Worst experience Ever! I was a former employee at a different location and all I wanted was to get my dog's nails trimed. I called ahead and showed up on time and because their store manager Ben Goodman and the grooming manager Alicia knew me they asked me to leave the store 3 minutes into my walking in the door. On Monday after the UYE lunch at Kenny's, I returned to my SUV to find Shadow had not only pooped in the back but had also chewed his leash in half. Nice. Thanks pup (err...I mean, money pit). Shadow needed food anyway, so I drove across the street to Petco for the supplies. I love that I can take him in with me -- it makes having a dog that literally can't leave our side a little easier. As he pulled me in every which direction to sniff out things, I hurriedly went to the treats and food section in the back. Wow, do they have every possible variety of food available! I stood in awe of how many Eukanuba bags they had. Seriously. And most were on sale...cha-ching! The only crappy part about Petco (and most pet stores) are that they're a bit of a mess. It took me forever to find the leashes (over on the cat side of the store - weird), and navigating around aisle displays with a big cart and a big dog was a pain in the arse. I used some coupons they had sent me in addition to the savings I got from the Petco Pals card, and ended up saving over $20 on my total bill! I am not one of those folks, and you know who you are. I do not kiss my pet on the mouth. I do not buy gourmet food for them. I do not buy them clothes. Okay, I have kittens so they wouldn't wear clothes, but you get the idea. And don't get me wrong. I do not begrudge anyone their god-given right to do these things. It's just not me. So, I really thought 9/10ths of Petco would be wasted on me...but I was wrong. I did need some of the stuff in there. Food is cheaper in bulk. Kitty litter is better and a bit cheaper, even than Wal Mart. And Petco, in my opion is a tad cheper than Petsmart. Is it worth the drive up to Addison? It sure is when you are shopping for a cat condo and climbing thingy. I don't know what they are called. All I know is it keeps the cat from scaling the back of the sofa and fake ficus tree. And I will probably be investing in a cat water fountain. My cats are not getting enough water. And with one still on the mend from a very serious case of pneumonia, they need all the food and water I can poke in them. You do not have to be a crazy cat woman to shop like one. read more

I'll definitely jump on the 4-star bandwagon here. This is my homebase for certain pet supplies - I was a loyal customer when the store was located a few blocks away. I find their selection to be diverse and reasonably priced for the most part. There are some basic things I won't buy here simply because it's cheaper at the WalMart that is practically next door. Usually, cats get the short end of the stick when it comes to products, but this store has a whole large section just for kitties of all ages. I've never seen so many cat collars, toys, climbing structures, etc.! It's difficult for me to walk out of here without something for my two brats. I almost wish I had a dog so I could bring it to sample all of the doggie treats, but I don't think it'd be fair to put the poor thing in a cage all day while I'm at work *sigh* Perhaps one day I'll have a yard! As a whole, the store is clean and taken care of properly, which must be a constant battle with all the critters running around. This location also has a grooming service and hosts numerous pet adoptions on a regular basis. I even got my second fuzzball here when I went in just to buy a toy for the first fuzzball.
