This location is trash! DO NOT take your dog there for grooming! The groomers do not know that they are doing and do not complete all services like teeth brushing! A week ago I took my giant Schnauzer in for a grooming appointment that was rescheduled by the way because the groomer was sick! I was called to come get my dog who was not fully cut! He looks awful. The so called "Manager" there said "free of charge". She knew she dropped the ball. She asked me to bring him back in the following Thursday but did not confirm the appointment. I get a text on Thursday saying I missed the appointment so the groomer left! This place is ghetto and unprofessional!!!! Stay away from those tacky groomers! read more

I visited this Petco and found out there is no vet here, only vaccination clinics on certain days of the month. The nearest vet hospital associated with Petco is in Huntersville, 10 miles away. The people were helpful at this store, and the grooming department was willing to schedule an appointment for me after the vaccination records reflect the updates on both dogs. read more

I was very dispointed with Petco. I had call the store here in concord Mills blvd. I was trying to make an appointment for my puppie I was told that they do walk ins. on Tuesday and Sunday from 3-6pm. and was told to come sunday around 3:00 cause that when the staff comes in to give vaccination for my puppy when arrived for the walk in I was told that they were not doing walkins on sunday cause they had to many appointments. I spoke to the vaccination doctor and ask why was I told something different. I couldn't get my dog vaccination. This was very poor service for customers ,who are trying to get their dog vaccination I was looking forward to having my puppie get his parvo shot, and was hoping to make petco my lil puppie his Veterinarian home. I wiil not suggest any of my family members or friends to use Petco a place to see about getting your dog/ puppie vaccination shots. read more

Yolanda did the grooming of my dog on 08/29/23. She poked his right eye with a sharp object. When I picked up my dog, I asked what happened. She said it's been there when I dropped which is a total lie as I pay close attention to my dog and I'll know if anything like that happened to him. She took the help of front desk guy to say yes to what she lied about. My dog couldn't open his eye for two days which scared me. He has been on antibiotics since last 10 days, still cannot open his eyes now and then. Enclosing the pictures from today. It would have been nice if she at least admitted her mistake. My poor dog suffered because of her. Never to this grooming place again as my dog's safety is more important to me. read more

The service was so bad that I don't even want to give them one star.I recently had a terrible experience at Petco's grooming salon. When I arrived for my appointment, the door was locked, and I had to knock several times before anyone came to help. When the employee finally opened the door, they were incredibly rude and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. The whole interaction was unprofessional, and I felt like they couldn't care less about providing decent customer service. To top it off, they didn't seem to have any sense of urgency or respect for the fact that I had an appointment. I expected a much better experience from a company that specializes in pet care. I won't be bringing my pet back here again. Very disappointed! read more

Big box pet supplies, clean and organized into sections for each different variety of pet. Dogs, cats, lizards, fish, small rodents and the like. I just needed a ginormous bag of kibble for our two canines and it was easy to find and priced right. Good stuff. I was also looking for a couple latex chew toys, but their selection of these seems to be limited. read more

I ran into Petco today because I had a coupon. I wound up getting three cans and one pouch of cat food. The store was clean. A sales associate asked me if I needed any help. Enough registers were open. It was heartwarming to see two different pet rescue organizations there with cats and dogs that were awaiting their forever homes. read more

I have been to this location several times for grooming service and to purchase pet food and I've had a consistent problem with the customer service and now the additional cost for grooming of my puppy. My puppy, a Shih Poo, is 11 months. Last visit, while checking out, James mentioned that my dog was a "brat" which is quite rude given that he is a puppy. Today, no one was in the grooming area when I arrived for my appointment and when someone came in, it was not pleasant. It took about 4 hours and when I went to arrived I was handed the receipt and went in the shop to pay for my service as normal. I didn't realize that my normal $58 service was now $87. It would have made sense to tell me the extra fees when I was handed the receipt. When I went back in to pick up my puppy, James simply said "he was matted so there was extra fees." No where does it say anything about extra fees and he was not matted as I just combed in before he arrived and he was wet on his paws because it rained and the backyard was wet. I said "why didn't you tell me that when I walked in instead of letting me go to the register. " No clear reason, just "he was matted." As I'm walking out, he says "oh btw, next time book with me because the other groomer had a hard time with him, he was wiggly and I had to step in and clean up his face." I was clearly annoyed because he is a puppy so I'm not even sure what to do with that information. I don't expect to budget $90 for grooming service at Petco. When I brought him home his ears were irritated and I'm concern given the language use to describe my puppy was he being handled properly. This will be my last time at the Concord Petco location for these reasons. I don't feel comfortable leaving my puppy there giving how thy have labeled him and making it seem like my 8 lb puppy is giving them a hard time. read more

I'll start by saying that my dog's hair was in much need of grooming. He hadn't been groomed in a long time due mostly to my health issues. I told them he was going to need a lot of grooming. I picked him up 5 1/2 hours later and the photos will show you how they got the mats out of his hair. read more

I have been to petco twice (Concord Mills, NC) in the past month and was very happy with my experiences. The first was my puppy's first grooming experience. Jasmyne was her groomer and went above and beyond to assure my pup and myself that we would survive this ordeal. She was right, my puppy loved her and looked so adorable!! My pup will definitely be a regular. After her grooming we walked around the store and an employee named Tom in the front (I think he was a dog trainer) started a friendly conversation. He was very friendly and you could tell he really enjoyed his job and had a great attitude. My pup loved him and ever since I've been meaning to schedule some training for her with him since he was so good with her. I was in the fish section on 6/16 at about 2pm. I wanted to get a rope fish for my husband for Father's Day. I didn't get the employees names but they were two females with brown hair. They were really helpful and knowledgeable about the fish and instructions on how to acclimate the fish to his new environment. The fish was stubborn and wanted nothing to do with the net, but they were persistent and worked really well together to finally catch him read more

First of all, the blatant disrespect was absolutely disheartening. My pet had a 9:30 am appointment this morning so we arrived around 9:15. We were the only people in the grooming section when a young lady greeted us. I acknowledged her and was looking through my phone to locate my pet's vaccination records. She advised that my groomer was in the back and she would get her. The groomer/manager Autumn came out and advised that she would have to cut my dog bald. It is cold and rainy out so I protested and instructed that I do not want my dog to be cut bald due to the weather. She advised that she was going to because of her coat. Again, I stated that I wanted her cut a place up from bald due to the condition and weather and I do not understand why I can't get what I am asking for when I am a paying customer. Autumn continues and so finally I stated go ahead and placed my pet on the counter for her so that she could grab my pet and James who I wasn't even booked with comes over and stated they were refusing to serve me because I had an attitude and I was accused of animal cruelty because my dog hair was a little matted. First of all, I never abused my dog and I am pissed that I was accused of something as such. Petco will never get my business again and BEWARE, DO NOT TAKE YOUR BELOVED PET HERE! I contacted corporate as well and filed a complaint on Autumn and James. read more

I would go negative 1 if I could. I have been taking my dog to petco for years to get groomed but I have never used this location until today. I dropped him off at 11AM and still had not heard anything by 3:30PM so I went back to the store and waited in line to see if maybe they had forgotten to call/text that he was ready. I could hear a dog yelping and a groomer calling him a pain in the a** and low and behold she was talking about my dog. She had just put him on the grooming table at 3:30PM- 4 1/2 hours after I dropped him off. I asked the the lady at the front if he would be ready soon and the she said she would have to check so she asked the groomer in front of me and the groomer said "you can see how he is behaving so it is going to be another 2-3 hours" I replied and said that I was confused since he had been there since 11AM and the groomer very disrespectfully said she had 8 other dogs before him and I was welcome to take him now so I did. He was there for almost 5 hours in a crate with no food, water or potty breaks and didn't even so much as get a bath. Do yourself a favor and don't use these people read more

The customer service in general is pretty lousy. I brought my small cheweenie to be washed and groomed. I go to Carolina pet vet to get her shots when they are in my area. The certificate they give you has all the info written on it and the new rabies tag is attached to the paperwork. Petco refused to accept the paperwork because it was written in pen. It had the rabies # on the paper and it matched the rabies tag on my dogs collar. I was furious. read more

I tried to come here after being told by the vet I would need to bottle feed my new born pups. Online said close at 9. I walked up at 757 and saw the lady lock the door. PetSmart literally just helped save my new born pups. read more

The last time I purchased fish food from Petco, they gave me a $3 voucher for future purchase because the container lid was cracked and they didn't ave another one in stock to swap it with. I decided to use the voucher today for cat food and the cashier did not know how to use it. She kept making angry noises and got extremely furious to the point that she looked at me and said, "you had to make it difficult didn't you". I was speechless, in the contrary, thought I was very patient. I asked her if there was someone else that knew how to use it. She walked to the manager's office and came back saying he didn't know. At that point I'm thinking to myself, why on earth would you hand out these vouchers if they don't know how to use them. She then starts hitting herself in the head. At that point I said you know what just forget it and was getting ready to walk out. She told me to wait, broke the bar codes off of the cans and threw them in the bag and said "here, take them". I will not return to this location to say the least. read more

The guy who thinks working a register at petco is too hard couldn't even give us the bag with our fish supplies in it. He forgot, apparently, that after you put something in the bag and the customer pays for it, you then hand the bag to the customer. It's now my responsibility to go pick up the bag because this inept person can't do his job correctly. Really not that hard to cash out 2 items and put them in the bag and then hand it to the customer. read more

It was our first time at the grooming salon. My dog is older and is also blind so I had wanted them to know this apon arrival. First of all they were not the least bit friendly, and I probably would have left, but I had waitted so long for an appointment that he really needed a groom. They seemed uninterested in his age or condition, they didn't even say anything to the dog. I was totally skeptical when they said Amber was grooming him as she was the one checking us in and was not friendly, nice, or personable, they should keep her away from customers. Anyway when I picked him up, he looked good. But for the reasons mentioned I will never take him back again,if she wasn't nice to me, she probably wasn't nice to him. read more

Had used this Petco Grooming Salon a few times in the past and been satisfied with their work. Our normal groomer moved, so I figured this would be an adequate stop gap until we found a new one - BIG MISTAKE. This past visit will be our last. Gave my dog severe razor burn in the area around his butt, that led to a $150 vet bill, a Prednisone prescription, and a cone for 2 days. Not to mention the grooming visit was over $60. Will never step foot back in this particular store/salon. read more

This place is HORRIBLE! I went in here with my fiancée and my leash trained cat to buy a new cat tower. The GM Glenda was an unbelievable Bitch to me and my cat. She told me that I couldn't have my leash trained cat in the store and how he couldn't be on the towers. I informed her that we were here to buy a new tower for him and that was our process to see which tower he liked the most. She stated in a very bitchy manner that she didn't care and that I needed to remove my cat or I can leave. Needless to say I ended up just taking my cat to Petsmart and got a tower and food from there. Funny thing was that we were also going to get cat food as well and she lost the store a $125 tower sale as well as about $90 in cat food. The Petco people in Waldorf, MD loved seeing me and my cat come into the store and shop. We never had a bad experience until a few years ago. DO NOT COME TO THIS STORE! read more

Approx 2years ago, we originally bought my sons one gallon tank and 3 small fish from Petco at concord mills. Since then 2 of the fish have died and one remains. We Got a new tank (a 1.1 gallon) because the older ones filter was leaking and we had a lot of algae. We stopped in the same Petco this wkend to get my sons fish 'flash' a friend or two. The young lady (Savannah) was apparently very knowledgeable about algae and what is best for the fish, but she REFUSED to sale us another fish because I would not buy another tank (since I had JUST bought one) with a filter she said the fish HAD to have. She then recommended a beta fish, but soon declined that one too saying our tank was not big enough. When I made the comment I didn't realize they could refuse a costumer a fish because We didn't have what she deemed a requirement for the fish, she comments back that they care the fish goes to a good home. WOW what a slap in the face! We've managed to keep this little guy alive for 2 YEARS but we arent a good enough home, our tank isn't what she deemed good enough, to have a second lIttle fish. I had to ask for the expected extras. They did a decent job cutting the hair on our two goldendoodles. They left out a few things: 1) no pretty bows on the ears (you pay $70+ per dog you want some bows); 2) no bandanna around the neck (these are too cute, why would you dare forget); 3) misplaced the leash (complications as to why they had my leash at all); I got my extras after asking for them and waiting longer. They seemed not to be very happy about the extra (or normal) work. I don't know if I will go back here. It all depends on whether or not I have available alternatives with flexible pickup and drop-off. read more

My friend and I noticed a bullfrog in the planted tank. We asked an associate about it, and she said he was probably just dropped off there by someone who didn't want him. My friend wanted to take him in for a better home (frogs don't belong in tanks like that), and the associate said to call back the next morning to talk with the aquatics specialist. We called this morning, and the specialist said he's not for sale, and the frog will just stay in the tank (and most likely die!). This was very disappointing.
