If you are looking for a great kennel for your fur babies, I highly recommend Fairwinds Animal…read moreStay. Koda had never been boarded and to say he had a rough start to his stay would be a huge understatement. Karen and her staff worked with him to ease his anxiety(and mine). I was given daily updates and when we arrived to pick up our sweet pup, it was clear he had bonded with the staff. This kennel is top notch and I can't recommend them enough.. definitely worth the drive from Winston Salem to Statesville! We have found our kennel!

The inside of the kennel has AC the out side was covered. They also have an uncovered area fenced off for the dogs to play. They have room for horses but they didn't have any the days I was there. The one owner I worked with was Karen. She was friendly, knowledgeable and knows people love their pet like children and she treated them that way. She made sure she knew everything she needed to know for caring for our girls. When I picked my girls up a few days later i was running a little late and Karen told me not to worry about it she will be there. When we got there she was out walking the girls and letting them play. The girls were very happy but tired from playing, but it made the ride back to Winston a little easier with them sleeping. I was very happy with the experience. This is the first time i have boarded my dogs with a kennel. I usually left them with friends. I have always worried about my dogs getting fleas etc. at a kennel because of past experiences. Fairwinds is by far the best kennel I have ever used. Its worth the trip from Winston

Man, I love this practice. They have been helpful and kind for the decade I've been using them…read more They don't push expensive procedures that my pets don't need, and they provide compassionate care at every visit. I've put them through their paces with a dog with an intestinal issue, a dog with a rare autoimmune disorder, another with a broken shoulder, and another who tends to get beat up regularly. They have also treated all my fosters with loving care. Their prices are reasonable, and they have always been able to fit me in quickly.

This was the whole reason I scheduled this appointment on a Tuesday. My dog had a hot spot on his paw. Literally about a half inch in diameter. I asked them about the hot spot while I was there. They literally spread his toes, looked, and said it's a skin infection. No other care was performed. Spread two toes and a quick peek. Nothing was said about it changing the type of appointment. Not a word about a change in cost. That quick peek changed the appointment from a wellness check to a "comprehensive medical exam." The cost of the visit immediately went from roughly $100 (for other services) to $260 because they spread his toes!!! Then, they had the audacity to keep trying to upsell me on everything they could. I told them to let me pay for what had been done and give me my dog's records because we will find veterinary care somewhere else. I highly recommend everyone else do the same. $260 for anal glands, nail trim, heartworm check, and a 5 second toe evaluation....then wanted me to pay $415 for flea, tick, & heart worm prevention. $675 when my dog wasn't even sick or actually injured is asinine.
