Boarded our two greyhounds for a week while on vacation. We returned to find our dogs suffering…read morefrom weight loss, dehydration, and almost identical injuries on both hind legs. Dehydration was blamed on time spent on patio. IF true, a competent staff would have recognized a problem and taken corrective action. It's clear no corrective action was taken. The injuries were blamed on the time spent sleeping on a hard surface. We were told the dogs would have cots to sleep on, but because they supposedly had a potty accident, the cots were removed. Nonetheless, the injuries appear to be cuts/scrapes, not pressure wounds. Again, a competent staff would have noticed a problem and taken corrective action. If there is something in the kennel causing injuries, why has it not been addressed? We received NO COMMUNICATION regarding injuries, not even when picking up our dogs. I guess they hoped we would not notice. We received NO COMMUNICATION regarding weight loss/dehydration, but I guess they would have to first be observant enough to notice a problem. We paid to have our dogs taken care of but all they seem to have received was neglect. NEVER AGAIN!

They have implemented new charges for early drop off $20 (before 1pm) and late pick up $40 (after 11am)./ know for me when I'm going out of town for a weekend I want to leave before 1pm and it would be hard to get back on a Sunday by 11am to avoid the additional fees. I have been using Dry Pond for 5 years (since I got my dog). I even switched to their vet services. My loyalty to their business doesn't seem to matter to management. After talking to the staff they suggested I email Shannon Pierce, the owner. I did email her and now 5 days later I still have NOT gotten a response. Dry Pond is also implementing additional fees/charges called Peak Pricing $20 per DAY for: Spring Break & summer (Memorial Day thru Labor Day), Thanksgiving week & Christmas thru New Years. None of this is mentioned up front on their website. Clearly they don't appreciate my business.

UPDATE: Since this review has been posted, Deandre has contacted my family multiple times to try to…read morehave this review take down. I guess as a small business owner, you never want to hear that your customer relations and people skills are absolutely terrible. Stay away. Stay far away. If you want any kind of peace of mind while you're away, you will not find it here. Last month, our usual dog-sitter was booked for our vacation so we had to look elsewhere. We found Deandre on Rover, but booked her off of the app so we could make payments since she is quite expensive. I dropped off our three dogs there, and genuinely thought it was a nice area (big yard with space for the dogs), even though the owner seemed pretty scattered. There were other at least three other dogs in her care, including a puppy. She hadn't sent us a contract to sign yet, so upon arrival, I was handed a notebook with my dog's names scribbled in marker that she wanted me to sign. For a long trip, this was a fairly late notice decision on our part, so I didn't think much of it. We leave for our trip and hear very little from Deandre (no pictures or updates), and the next day, she calls my fiancée frantically and says that our (friendly service) dog had bitten another dog badly enough to be taken to the vet, and that our other dog had started a fight. Here's the thing: we were never explicitly aware that our dogs would be playing freely outside in the heat for hours (yep--she said she did that) with dogs they had never met. I saw several dogs there along with several cages, so I had assumed they would be kept separate for extended periods. Our dogs, even the well-behaved one, are total jerks, but they've never been aggressive, though we definitely entertained the possibility that they caused this trouble given the circumstance. With the information we have, we think our dogs have legitimately done something bad, so my fiancée starts asking for some more details, like if we needed to compensate the other dog owner, and the general state of our dogs. Deandre was woefully unable to communicate any context to the situation, and began talking in circles. The phone call ends, and my fiancée texts her some general and very reasonable questions about our dogs (we wanted pictures of them to make sure they were okay) and the situation in general. It's getting pretty late in the day at this point, and Deandre calls back and tries (briefly and poorly) to answer some of the questions. She then says that she doesn't want to keep going back and forth with us, and that we've texted her with too many questions. This is when she goes off the rails. She proceeds to be extremely rude to my partner, and goes on to tout her own capabilities as a caretaker, among many other uncalled for things. We were excessively kind with her and never attacked her ability; we literally just wanted her to update us on the outcome of a situation that our dogs had seemingly caused. This woman has zero communication skills. Our friends were with us while we were on the phone, and all of us were shocked at her behavior. The next day, we inform her that my dad would be coming to sign them out, and that our usual dog-sitter (who had an opening) would be coming to pick them up. We barely heard a word from her. After they were picked up, she didn't offer a refund of any kind for the remainder of their stay (almost a week). She only sent us our money back after we threatened to get an attorney involved. Even then, she shorted us $10 and kept one of the water bowls. If you want to hear the phone call where she loses her mind, let us know.
