Dr. Cable comes in with a very calm manner and loads of yummy dog treats: * peanut butter, which is smeared on a paper plate * wet dog food, also put on a paper plate * other good things my girls love/loved. Each had a slightly rough first meeting, as they hadn't met her, but once they got whiffs of things in the basket she brings in, well, they were in love. She's always aware of their moods and reactions and easily works to reassure them, which has been quite successful. The main issue I have has been getting one or the other through the waiting room, as both are/were very protective. The costs are a bit high, but I've joked with friends that I put money into a matching 401(k) at all my jobs mostly for my dogs' care. Even if I hadn't, I'd stick with Dr. Cable. The staff is also exceptional. They've gotten to know my dogs and have helped with getting them in the door and into an exam room. So appreciate that.

We opted for mobile grooming because this was during the pandemic and brick-and-mortar dog grooming places were not open. This groomer was great! She pulled into our driveway with her big truck, and she wore a mask and our dog went right to her. She is really good with dogs. It took about two hours for our dog to get a full grooming treatment (remember, our dog is super furry and hadn't been groomed for a while), but when our dog emerged from the grooming truck, he looked beautiful! I normally don't leave reviews, but I feel it's important to share what happened during my puppy's first grooming appointment at Woof Gang in Carmel... My 9-month-old maltipoo, Louie, is usually gentle but anxious around new people. When I booked the appointment, I explained this so they would handle him with extra patience and care. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to happen. About 30 minutes after drop-off, I received a call from -- the groomer -- saying Louie had "snapped" at her and wouldn't let her wash him after she trimmed around his private area and accidentally got water on his face. My boyfriend and I immediately went back to the salon. When we arrived, staff led us to the back where I found Louie soaking wet, shivering, and whimpering inside a vented cage. He was terrified. He jumped out trying to hide, and it took time to calm him down and wrap him in a towel. Despite his obvious distress and the incomplete service, we were still charged the full fee. I left feeling heartbroken and disappointed, especially since this was his first experience being groomed. I hope the staff take this feedback seriously and reconsider how they handle nervous or first-time dogs. For anyone with an anxious or young pup, I would recommend finding a grooming place that takes more time to build trust and ensure your pet feels safe throughout the process.
