Went in yesterday and saw this elderly couple wait 15 mins to get checked out while the worker was seating down cleaning her nails and giving dirty looks to customers as they walked in. i've come here for years, up until recently It was the only local pet store, and my visits have been extremely uneventful so far- but Chris was running the register tonight and he has been one of the friendliest most easy-going customer service representatives I have dealt with anywhere. he was fast and extremely thorough. Instead of a meaningless exchange, he used that opportunity to be extremely friendly and informative. It didn't take the checkout process any longer than it normally would, but he certainly made it impactful. All 5 cats for adoption were in filthy cages, with very little cat litter which was full of urine and diarrhea! Dirty water and diarrhea all over the cage in some! The vetco is a pop vet station, their just there to collect money and issues vaccines. Complete bait and switch type of feel, I wanted to bring my dog in to get a flea treatment/cleaning and a nail trimming in addition to his booster. I ordered a curbside pickup order (one bag of dog food) for my husband because after a long shift he did not want to go inside, I called to ask if I could get it sooner because he was 10 minutes away. The woman who answered the phone immediately had an attitude and said please hold. She didn't press hold and was speaking to her coworker and said this dumb lady is asking if we can hurry up her order and the other woman scoffed and I didn't hear her response but the other woman picked the phone back up and said it'll be ready when you get an email and hung up before I could respond. My husband ended up going in and asking for a manager but he was on his 30 minute break. So he waited the 30 minutes and then after waiting he finally got to talk to the manager he explained the situation and how he's been a service manager for 5 years and if his employees ever spoke to anyone like that they would get a write up. All the manager said was I'll have a conversation with that person which is fine. Finally a young woman came and I said i had an appt and she said Kelly left for lunch and she should be back soon...how soon ??? Who knows how long she would be gone. I love coming to Petco. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable of the products and services. Great prices, and if you have the Petco App, you can save lots of money. I took my dog Melanie to be groomed today l was extremely disappointed abd dissatisfied by the groomer Vanessa and her helper . They were both extremely unprofessional. Melanie is a medium size dog and she has been groomed before by Vanessa with no problems and no complaints. Now today l get 4 frantic voicemails from Vanessa on how Melanie was so unmanageable that they couldn't finish grooming her . Melanie is a little more hyper these days but she has never bit anyone or showed any aggression. When l arrived they bought Melanie out before l even checked out and paid for the service Vanessa could barely control Melanie as she was holding on to the leash with a limp hand as if she was trying to make Melanie seem aggressive. Melanie obviously was excited to see me so she was standing by the counter with Vanessa and Melanie was jumping trying to get to me while she was behind the counter . Now I've been coming to petco for YEARS with my prior dogs and they never bring your pet out until the customer has completed paying for service . There is a line full of customers and the other woman who came out with Vanessa is loud and not discreet saying " your dog is so aggressive l was so scared l thought she was going to bite me . Now lady aren't you a professional groomer are you telling me you can't hold on to a medium size dog . I felt as she was intentionally being loud so everyone could hear and Vanessa was intentionally not trying to hold the leash so that Melanie could freely jump to make the situation more dramatic then it was Absolutely ridiculous. These groomers are not well trained and they don't care for your dog like they should . I have been slightly dissatisfied about their service in the last with my prior dog when l asked them not to cut off her too pony tail and they did it anyways but this time Melanie was not groomed correctly her hair was uneven and Vanessa didn't finish the job. I mainly go here to get my pit bull his snacks. They have these dog donuts and cookies in the treat aisle. Easy to miss... but I noticed them one day. Now he's hooked and my spoiled baby gets what he wants when he is good. I recently went to finally get him his dog tag. It was pretty easy. Walked in on 12/12/22 around 9am looking for some Timothy hay for my Guinea pig, own a couple cockatiels myself so I always find myself drawn to look at the birds they have. Walked over to visit the conures when I saw the conure "Atlas" with his foot stuck between the cage bars on the bottom and the glass beside it. My mom ran over to the employee who was currently at the front register "Ralph" to inform him that this bird needed immediate attention and was bleeding and he brushed her off because he was busy attending a customer. Simply displays the Petco employees lack of sympathy and care for their animals because apparently a sale is more important to them than their animals welfare. Just wanted to spread awareness on the lack of care they have for their animals. After possibly like 5 minutes we managed to get another employees attention and they walked in to assist the bird and apologized that no one had realized. Just don't understand how their employees who are paid to attend the welfare of these animals and check on them, happened to not notice that this conure was frantically panicking at the corner of the cage, with blood all over his foot. They then assured he'd be taken to the vet if he survives since birds can't lose much blood, however knowing how Petco tends to deal with their animals, not sure if he ever was or will be. read more

This review is for VETCO. Dr Aimee Wong at Vecto Beaumont on 8.24 was extremely rude. My pet was nervous and was urinating and she refused to administer his vaccinations. He has been the same (nervous and anxious) everytime he has come for his vaccines. All other doctors were patient and rubbing him and able to give him the vaccines. She and her assistants didn't acknowledge myself or the gentleman standing behind me for at least 7 minutes while waiting in line. I took my dog to Oak Valley Hospital after they refused to administer and he was given his last shot with no problem. No sedation no anxiety meds nothing. I paid at the previous appointment and was not given a refund and told I have to call a number for them to investigate the claim. I will not be returning and will urge others. The only pro is that you don't have to wait as long as you do at the vet, but I will take my money and my pet elsewhere. read more

One star is not low enough. I needed to return an item that was purchased two weeks before. It was a bag of Smart Bones. I had bought three bags. I realized two weeks later that I accidentally bought one bag of the small bones instead of the mini. I have a small Terri so the small bones were to large. When I tired to exchange it for the mini which were more expensive and I told the cashier I would pay the higher price. Because I did not have a receipt they would not exchange it. The item was unopened and had an expiration date of 03/23/2024. I have been a regular customer there for well over four years and usually spend over $100 each visit. I also had a problem with a groomer who did not know the first thing when approaching a dog for the first time. My little Terri is terrified of men. She is a rescue dog that was abused. I told him that and he tried to pick her up with out talking and petting her first. He scared her and she nip at him and tried to get away from him. I couldn't leave her there to be groomed and left. I'm not really happy with my first full grooming experience. First I had to wait an extra hour to pick up my dogs after I was instructed to return before 6pm because they were closing. I arrived on time but it took another hour to get my dogs hair cut done. Secondly, the groomer didn't follow directions on cutting my other dogs hair and cut it too short. I tried calling 9... YES! 9 TIMES in the last few days to make a grooming appointment for my 4 dogs. Eight times I could not get through AT ALL! I was on hold for 15 and 20 minutes every time, so I finally hung up. Only one time someone answered, and I said I need the grooming salon please and they said hang on! Just spoke with someone from grooming and all I can say is HOW RUDE. The lady I spoke with on the phone has absolutely zero customer service skills. It's not even where she's trying to keep it real but friendly. She's just straight RUDE. I called to ask if they would be able to do a flea bath for our working dog today. This is how the conversation goes: "Hi I was hoping to get my sheepdog a flea bath today?" "What???" "Oh can you not hear me?" "Barely" (Repeats self and then is put on hold) "When would you like the appointment?" "Today if possible" "Well we cant do a SHEEPdog today. Nobody is going to take her. My god..." This is the second time my pups grooming appointment has been canceled after waiting weeks for the appointment even got a confirmation email the day before and I get a call that my appointment was canceled due to my dogs groomer being sick. Hey I understand that things happen but they should be able to do something for their customers for the inconvenience they said the next available appointment was not until another 2 weeks the manager at the Beaumont location is a joke and has no customer service training.
