This review is for the grooming department. I brought my golden doodle for her first puppy cut they kept her for little over 3 hrs. They make you pay for her cut before they let you see your dogs cut. I just paid and left tip on the cashier bill. When I received my doodle she was definitely just chopped up, it was not the teddy bear cut I was expecting. Numerous areas there were bald spots and the tail was not even touched. Her eye looked like they nicked it. It was her first cut, I was let down. The price was over 95 bucks so I expected more. I would not recommend Petco, I am also thinking about stopping my auto ship items because of this. read more

They have a wonderful staff team like Lorri and Pam who goes above and beyond for what they do. They are always friendly and very well polite if I needed a sitter I'm sure they would watch my dog lol. My dog is in good hands whenever I drop him off for any grooming services I need. read more

We came in on a Monday evening to purchase a dog tag for our dog Michael who earlier today gave us the fright of our lives when he decided to dart out of the house like a bat outta hell! We spent a good chunk of the morning scouting the neighborhood for him, but that's beside the points I'm trying to make here... Two things I want to point out - staff here is super duper helpful. We've only ever bought a dog tag once before at their rival store and so I was a bit lost when looking for their pet tags. The guy I asked walked me over to where they were. Also, the cashier, Sara, who tended us was nice enough to highlight the code that would be needed to engrave the tag at the kiosk. I thought that was a nice gesture, because again, I only have one other instance to compare it too. Second, I wanna say the store is well organized and clean. It isn't odorous as other pet stores I've been to. Plus their dog treat cart was well kept. The Halloween costume display was well stocked and again, organized. Highly recommend this store. Went in on NYE looking for some puppy essentials, food, toys, etc. the store wasn't super busy. It was a little chaotic with things in the walk ways but I attributed that to the holidays and adding new stock for Valentine's Day. I had a couple questions about a crate but I couldn't find staff to help. No biggie shopped it on Amazon. The issue I had was when I took my items up to purchase the cashier asked me for my phone number for rewards. Now I don't usually shop at PetCo, we get our essentials via Chewy, so I declined providing it. The cashier then told me if I didn't provide my phone number I wouldn't be able to return anything I purchased. I told her I would keep my receipt in case I needed to make a return and she reiterated that if I didn't provide my phone number I wouldn't be able to make a return. If that is indeed the case then that is a terrible business practice, if it isn't then, she's lying to customers which is terrible as well. Needless to say I probably won't return to PetCo, I'll take my business to Fur and Feed or Petsmart. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the Petco - 8220 Rosedale Hwy grooming salon today. The groomer, Elysa (red hair), was rude and unprofessional from the start. She examined my pet and said he was matted and would need to be shaved. I politely explained I was not looking to shave his entire body and would rather handle trimming myself or come back later if needed. I acknowledged that certain areas like the ears and tail might need attention, but I did not agree to a full shave. Instead of having a respectful conversation, her attitude was cold and dismissive. I tried to overlook it at first, but things got worse. When I was leaving, I had trouble opening the exit door and asked for help. She ignored me. After waiting a few minutes, I asked again and she rudely said, "Slide it." I told her I didn't want to force the door and risk damaging it. She came over with a very impatient, demeaning tone, showed me, and walked away without any professionalism. I told her she was being rude, and she ignored me again. When I asked for her name, she refused to answer until I asked multiple times, finally saying "Elysa from Petco" in an unprofessional way. I've been a customer before, but this experience was disrespectful and completely turned me off from coming back. Customer service -- especially when handling someone's pet -- should never feel this hostile. read more

Dropped my Ozzy off today and before leaving spoke with the groomer Desire about him having some matting on his stomach and she said that it was fine that it wasn't so bad and that we can keep his hair long he was basically supposed to have his stomach shaved 1/2 inch and his face and body trimmed an hour later I get a call from another groomer stating that Desire claimed the matting on his stomach was riding up to the sides and would have to shave him completely, I told her no that I would be picking him up, mind you when I went to pick him up she had already shaved his body what are these calls for, you would think that it would be to ask for permission other wise why call at all right if you were already doing it without consent, she barely even shaved his stomach yet she shaved his body I felt like she purposely shaved his body because I was picking him up I'm taking him to another groomer for an evaluation tomorrow I hate being lied to why not just tell the customers what you can do rather then lie and do what you want. I had an appointment at 7am to get my dog groomed and I had gotten to the store and the lady named Pam had an attitude the whole time we were speaking and when she was asking me for the vaccine card she was super rude about it. This is a review that I am making for my husband who purchased something online and went in the store to pick it up. He called ahead to have them hold it for him. It was the last one left of this particular harness. The manager fought with them and said that she refused to give it to him, and she was just gonna keep it there for somebody with the same exact name as the guy who called on the phone to put it on hold. But it was HIM!!!!!! She eventually let him have it but she made him purchase it again!!! So far there's been no refund for the 1st one we bought. (It was like the management wanted to go home cuz it was near closing time). Ringing others up in front of him not wanting to deal with his issue. The initial reason we went to this store was because the one closer to us had it on the website but not in store. Management there would not call the other store to check to see if they had one. This review is for my grooming experience. Alyssa was awful! The most disrespectful and unprofessional person. When I booked an appointment for my 4 month old Goldendoodle I solely did it because of the puppy promotion bath price of $19.99 which I mentioned to her when I arrived. She asked me how much my dog weighed and I told her 25 pounds and she said ok because when dogs are more than 25 pounds it's regular price. I said ok that's fine because obviously I just mentioned that my dog is 25 pounds not over that, even though when you book on the website it stated nothing about weight only about the puppy promotion because he is 4 months. Fast forward to when I went to pick up my dog, a very nice gentlemen handed me my receipt and I saw that I was being charged $60. Alyssa was speaking with another customer but as soon as she heard me tell the male worker "oh no I booked a puppy bath it should only be around $25" she started yelling in the customers face saying "I TOLD YOU IF HE WAS OVER 25 POUNDS ITS NOT A PUPPY BATH I LITERALLY TOLD YOU" I was shocked because I don't know who the hell she thought she was talking to LOL. Even the customer who she was speaking to backed up shocked at her disgusting attitude. I told her she can check the cameras and listen to how she specifically told me OVER 25 pounds is regular price and she responded "YEAH WE DO HAVE CAMERAS" to which I responded perfect so then you'll be able to hear our conversation and she left to the back looking like she was about to cry over something so silly! I went back to the gentlemen and asked to speak to an adult who can compose themselves preferably a manager, the manager came over and said she was wrong the puppy bath is based on age not weight and I could hear her getting upset, stating "well I was just doing my job I was told to do!" For future reference Alyssa, it's never that serious and I promise you you're not going to get a promotion for over charging people. Best of luck to you in your future endeavors with that attitude.. For anyone booking a puppy grooming here or if you have booked one here before if your puppy is under 6 months they qualify for the promotion of $19.99! My pug was getting a little stinky and a bath at home just wasn't doing the trick, so I decided to bring her in for a full grooming. The price was great (they charge by size of dog and services requested). For my 13 lb pug, the price was just under $40. This service included a bath, blow dry, ear cleaning, nail trim, anal gland expression, 15 minute brushing and a little spritz of doggy perfume. You could add on other services for an additional charge of course, but this was all we needed to get our pup in good shape! The staff was so friendly and seemed to really enjoy the company of dogs. In fact, when I was walking up to pick my puppy up, I was happy to see that she was out of a cage and actually hanging out with the staff in the front. I will definitely be returning to this location to have my pup groomed in the future! read more

We stopped by Petco recently when we were trying to kill some time before an appointment. Store was clean and the young man that helped us was very nice. Right away we saw the hairless guinea pigs, absolutely adorable. He allowed my family to hold them, so cute and actually pretty soft. All of our questions were answered and he seemed very knowledgeable. All the isles we went down were stocked. Super cute dog themed tennis shoes for you and matching harness for your dog. Check out the pals reward program, you can sign up on line or in the store. For each dollar you spend you get a point. Also if you fill out a online profile about your pet you will receive a free birthday gift on their birthday. Towards the front of the store is bulk bins of dog treats. This Review is for the Vetco Clinic in regards to their vaccination clinics every Sunday. Staff was very friendly and helpful, quick and efficient. Glad to have been able to get in as most clinics in town don't take new patients in which is bazar to me, however, Petco was able to get me in! Expect to wait several weeks as they are fully booked most of the time. As most visits require a follow up and/or booster. A full equipped animal loving staff at this vet clinic, what more can you ask for?!? read more

I took off two stars for never having any shopping carts available in the store to use. Since I couldn't shop without a cart I only used the clinic the last three times. The manager called me because I had complained on their corporate site. He was super nice and listened to my concerns. I now go to another store in the same parking lot and hijack one of their carts so I can shop for my pets needs in Petco. It's too hard to shop with a squirmy puppy in your arms and a purse. You may say leave the dog home but she has had a vet clinic appointment inside the store for the past three times I've gone. All the employees at Petco are very nice and it's handy to have the clinic inside the store. The manager assured me they are ordering more carts for the store. Took my pet to be groomed and the groomer Ben called me and left me a voicemail not even 10 minutes have past telling me my pet needed to be shaved when the last time he got shaved on Feb this year because he had nots and since then I haven't taken my dog just today to get a light trim around his face and his little body and my dogs hair didn't have nots this time because I've been brushing his hair and was not too long and get a call that my dog needed to be shaved on a voicemail and couldn't get on hold of him on time because stupid phone kept ringing until I got of hold of him and told me he shaved my dog, he did not wait at least couple of minutes until I can give him an approval but instead he made the decision for me, very unprofessional! Come to find out they sold us sick fish. The past away 2 day later due to ick. Not only did we loose the fish that we go at petco but we lost the another fish we had in the tank. So in total we lost over 300.00 in fish. We have spoken to petco all they did was refund the money for the fish we bought that day. They didn't ever talk to the guy even though we told the manger that he admitted to dropping our fish on the ground. Sooo first of all I want to start with a positive -- the gentlemen that was putting out all the tanks for sale they put on a few times a year was helpful, attentive, sweet and knowledgeable. As someone who has owned reptiles and animals in the past, I could tell he was passionate for the conversation regarding the bearded dragon I was interested in buying. This location had a great stock of animal/reptile products. He was quick at getting our paperwork for our dragon (Mooshu) all gathered up. His service was excellent. He was an older gentleman. The reason I put 3 stars is because I'm not a fan of how pet stores cram a lot of reptiles in a single tank. There was a beardie much larger than ours in the tank with 4 other dragons...yikes. The same goes for the poor geckos. I wish they would relay information that, that's not cool and animals should have some space...our one bearded dragon (juvenile) has a 20 gallon and she's maybe 2 months old and she loves it. Other than that, the location is always clean, a decent stock of products are available and the cashiers are pretty quick which I admire in any store! read more

I would not recommend Vetco. I didn't do my research before hand. It's not like a Vet it's like a walk in clinic inside a store ...you have to stand the whole time they make you an appt time but they don't follow them. I was told my appt was the first of the day I stood in line for 1 hour just to check in and another half our for my animal to be seen. They don't tell you this when you book online. I avoided critters without litters because I didn't want to deal with is...it's probably worse and WAY WAY more expensive. read more

Blue wilderness is the reason why we come here. My puppy is fancy schmancy and gets the good food. I know I probably could purchase a cheaper brand of food at a local Walmart or somewhere, but my bestie deserves the best! This store is not extravagant and is pretty normal.. average kinda pet store. I do love the variety of brands and choices they offer pet owners. They have tons of doggy/kitty toys and much more. Love that you can bring your pets while you shop. So far everyone that has brought their pets have been pretty good about manners so that's a plus. No one leaves their dogs unattended. They also do pet adoptions here. From what I remember they do them on the weekend, not too sure the time frame, but they do both cats and dogs. They also have birds, fish, lizards, and rodents for sale. read more

Lorri always does such a PHENOMENAL job with our golden boy. She grooms him exactly the way we ask every time! He has been going to her since all his puppy shots were done. We take him once a month; when it is time for his appointment we ask him "Do you want to go see Lorri?" and he literally jumps for joy and is so excited to see her. He loves his spa days with her. We are very picky on who we trust with him, but Lorri and our baby have a special connection. read more

Whoever was working on Saturday April 13th 2024 (morning shift) and put together my DoorDash order, ended up picking out a torn up box that was Honest Kitchen dog food that had bugs crawling round inside the unsealed plastic wrap. Why would your store even sell something that wasn't sealed crawling with bugs? Gross. I called the customer service line and complained to corporate. Thankfully, they issued me a refund. I've been getting my dogs groomed at this Petco with Lorri for years and she has always been so great! Now she runs the salon and I feel like the salon is so professional and all the groomers seem well-trained and like they love dogs. I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone else but Lorri, but at least the whole salon and all the groomers here seem capable and qualified. I recommend Petco grooming to all my fellow pet parents, and I especially recommend Lorri. She won't let you down. My little fur baby loves her, too. :) read more
