I had my Queensland neutered and my pug spayed here over the past couple of years. The check in process is a little chaotic but the prices make up for it. It took me about 45 minutes to an hour to check in both times, so be sure to arrive early and do your paperwork online to save time! Pick up is a little more smooth because there aren't a hundred dogs standing around at the same time barking at each other! One thing you should be aware of is that flat faced dogs cost more, but they didn't tell me that at any point during the scheduling and check in process. I only learned about this fee after I paid the original fee and they took my Queenie to the back room. I had to pay the additional $20 at pick up. The staff is so friendly and helpful and seem to really love animals! I wouldn't hesitate about leaving my dogs here because everyone is really alert and attentive. All the vet appointments at all the local vets are booked up & hard to get in but w/ Critters Without Litters at least you can take your pet to get AFFORDABLE vaccinations with no office visit fee. You will have to stand outside in a line but if it's hot they do have outdoor misters to keep cool while you wait your turn. The line goes pretty fast so it's not bad at all. I'm rating in the middle for these reasons. I came with pet for a vax 2 days ago and the window where they take pet information and payment had only one person! Today I came back earlier in the day and there are 3 people making the long line much quicker in this Bakersfield summer heat! It's so imperative that a daily wash down of the concrete sidewalk we wait on for all the dog poo and pee puddles. They do provide misters and a couple fans to cool us while we are in line so that is a good plus. Cleanliness is sorely lacking and they only opened a few minutes before we got here so this represents days of business dog mess and the smell is pretty horrific which attracts flies as well. You must have pets in a leash/harness or in a kennel and they recommend a muzzle for barking dogs. I witnessed one woman get turned away because her feline was too angry to be handled. Come early, they take walk ups at 10 however at 8:30 am there is already a long line. It would be nice if they made more payment stations available to streamline the process. Maybe a website to streamline payment where you can pay in advance? read more

Regular services are fine. Cutting off part of an animals ear for no medical reason is not! If a cat is chipped, there is no excuse to cut off a part of their ear unless it is medically necessary. I do not recommend a vet that does this. Go somewhere where they understand this is an unnecessary service. read more

If they do receive county money to perform these services they need to change their scheduling. It's impossible to schedule an appt. They are always booked. They want you to check daily. I've been checking daily for over a month. read more

They were so helpful & the staff was extremely kind. I felt welcome & comfortable. They fixed my cat at an extremely reasonable price as well as microchipping him & giving him a flea treatment & a amoxicillin shot because his foot was hurt. Critters without litters is a wonderful non profit organization founded by people who care about animals. Three days ago I took my 9 month old puppy to have her spayed. It's a very organized place. You show up at 7am and get in a line with mostly people that did not have the dogs with them. Some people did bring their dogs with them. My dog was sitting with my husband in the car. You fill out a form and then you get a number. You eventually end up inside and at that point you bring your pet inside with you to wait. They call your number and you have to have proof of rabies vaccination and you pay the bill and decide if you want to buy pain medications. After paying you sit down again until your number is called when they take your pet back. We were number 16 and we were told she would be picked up between 1:30 and 4:30. I got the call to pick her up at 1:30. They were all so kind and caring and it was a great experience. Today the vet emailed me to check on her condition. I am including a photo of her surgery site. They put a tattoo on the site that shows she has been spayed. I had been unable to get her into my regular vet so I had picked Critters without litters. My wait time was three months. They were around $120 and my vet was around $450. I highly recommend this business. read more

They asked me multiple times how long I've had the dog and I told him I've had the dog since she was six weeks old. They did not believe me. When they took my pet for me to take her to get her vaccines, they did not ask me if they could scan her for a microchip because of their own opinion. I had to literally email them multiple times to get my vet records for my pet. I had to email the manager to clear up all the confusion to get my pets records. They only literally asked me and my husband how long we had had the pet and if we had it for more than two weeks, they did not ask anybody else that question. read more

I had heard about this place from a former coworker but I finally made my way in. It is such a quick and easy process and the prices are Great! I arrived and waited in line no more than 15 minutes met some awesome people in line. I was handed a clipboard and filled out the form, just a few questions not too much. Once you arrive to the end the process is easy, basically you pay for your services all at the the time. They ask you to go sit or stand by another door and they call out your number and they come out and take your animal and ask a few questions like name and boy or girl . Friendly young ladies .... Wait a few minutes and they bring them out right away . Give you basic information on how they did and what they got and if you have any questions they answer you right their and then. It took me a while to get my neighborhood cat in but it was worth the wait. When I first arrived on my appointment date I thought wow I may be here a while with all the pets that were checking-in. I was there maybe a half hour so not bad at all. Everyone there was professional and helpful. I was impressed how everything was so streamlined. I picked up my cat in the afternoon and the vet even came out and talked to me about her for a bit. She gave me some pain meds for her free of change which was nice. Had my Siberian Husky neutered here and couldn't have had a better experience! They are careful with their pandemic procedures and help you with everything you need every step of the way, offering microchipping and vaccinations at very reasonable prices. Drop off and pick up was easy, which is saying something since my dog is a nut job, and they even called me same day to pick him up! When I got him they were very thorough about explaining the aftercare and medication that they provided, as well as giving him a cute cone to go home with. If you are getting your pet spayed and neutered here, don't forget to call Animal Control and get a voucher for $40 off the surgery! The voucher definitely helps in these times! read more

Took my dog to get his shots and everything was handled very well. The place has an easy to understand set up during COVID, you wait in line, fill out a form, and you are given a ticket number. I was number 21 and the numbers advanced quickly. They gave me papers with proof of the shots, which is the only thing I wish was in a little booklet so it's sturdier, but I understand cost limitations. The staff that helped me was really friendly!
