Just used Petco for the first time for a prescription for my dog. Received notification of shimpment THREE DAYS AFTER it was delivered. That type of service is completely unacceptable! I want a shipment notification when an order ships, not AFTER it delivers. I order online for most of my shopping needs and prefer not to shop in actual stores. There is something seriously messed up to receive your shipping notificatioin AFTER your order delivers. Will be looking for an alternative for next time. read more

The staff here are amazing! I brought my dog into today and they were just so sweet to him. Poor guy may have testicular cancer so we had to get him a cone and the staff were very helpful and kind to him. Truly appreciate the staff here. Y'all need to fix your online grooming scheduling! Over booking/double booking and expecting your groomers to magically get 2 or more animals done in the time it takes to get one done is ridiculous! Also when they end up stay longer to finish the animals they have and to get their cleaning before they leave. You yell at them for working overtime. Last February my boyfriend and I got a Rottweiler puppy. We went straight to Petco to get more essentials we forgot to pick up. There we ran into Sarah who was working, still does work there, and she gave us SO much advise for our new puppy with a smile on her face from beginning to end. Even things relating to Rottweilers specifically which was very helpful since they are a difficult breed at times. When we come in she even still recognizes him almost 2 years later. That was the most help we received when we got Gus and I couldn't be more thankful for Sarah. If you need anything there, make sure you go to her! I just want to state that this review is more of a WARNING. This was my second time taking my dogs (a morkie and maltese, both males) to Petco for their grooming needs. Both times, we received Brianna G. as our groomer. With their first visit, it was pretty standard with no troubles at all and Brianna did great with them, which is what brought me in a 2nd time. I'm not sure if Brianna was my Morkie's groomer since I did have both of the boys scheduled at the same time. I noticed there were 3 groomers working when I brought them in. Some time after I dropped them off, I was informed by the manager, Steve, that my Morkie's ear got "nicked" because he moved and it was bleeding (downplaying the seriousness of the injury), which required a visit to their vet resulting in his ear injury being glued. I initially was not too upset as I understood that accidents can happen. I picked up my dogs and went home thinking that was the end of it. After looking at his ear, I clearly saw how bad it was (enough to require his ear being glued back together and having to wear a cone) and didn't look him over any further since that's where Steve said the injury was. Once home, I let my Morkie potty without the cone on.. as soon as we got inside, he started licking his groin area. So I coned him to prevent him from scratching his ear, shortly after realizing that he wasn't willing to walk around. Weirdly, he just laid there; I figured this was possibly due to the meds the vet gave him from the care of his ear injury. A few hours later, because I work night shift, I went to work. I came home the next morning and still, he wasn't his active self. So I un-coned him, took him out, and as soon as we came back in, he started licking his groin area again. Coned him and finally took a look at his groin and found TWO ADDITIONAL INJURIES to his skin on his inner hindlegs (refer to pictures); there was a flap of skin on one side clearly showing that he was cut from grooming. Clearly you can see that the injuries were clean cuts (again, reference pictures posted). Dried blood was on his fur near the wound and there was dried fur stuck in the wound. I waited until Petco Groomers opened at 8AM to text Steve on his personal phone with pictures since he told me I could reach out for any questions/concerns. I called petco grooming and no one picked up so I left a message. I then called Steve and left him a voice message after no replies or returned calls. I patiently waited 30 minutes before calling their vet who I was also told to call for questions/concerns and they refused to see my dog! They said I had to "square it with Petco first and call your own vet." By this time, I was definitely upset and felt like I was getting no help but worse, that I was being brushed off. Without a choice, I called my vet and had to send them pictures via email since my vet isn't located in Appleton, to see if the injuries needed to be stitched or glued. I felt completely helpless! It was an hour before Steve called me back, initially telling me my dog could have "licked himself raw." There is no way he could have licked himself raw to the point of injuring himself, especially since he was coned majority of the time. He only licked the area for those brief moments when we came back inside from his potty breaks. Regardless of the cone, it's hard to come to the conclusion that Steve's theory was even a possibility. The wounds clearly show that he was injured from the grooming. Steve did call their vet and got my dog in to be seen with expenses being covered resulting in the injuries being glued. Although I am appreciative of them taking responsibility (after all the hassle) for injuring my dog and covering the expenses for treatment, I did not appreciate being told he possibly injured himself by licking himself raw... or especially him being injured in multiple areas in the first place! I also don't understand how the extent of the injuries happened without the groomer's acknowledgement. I'm completely surprised about the carelessness of the grooming staff at this Petco location. No apologies given, no follow-up, no explanation as to who even did my Morkie's grooming, whether it was Brianna or someone else so I don't even know who to request if I were to go back there. Needless to say, Petco grooming has lost a customer and we will not be returning for grooming services. I entrusted my pets' safety when I dropped them off for grooming and unfortunately this experience has broken that trust. I will not subject my pets to this kind of treatment again. And I hope this nightmare of a situation doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

The manager refused to sell me a goldfish unless I purchased a 20 gallon tank. About a year ago we visited the Appleton Petco store. My children wanted a fish. The store sold us a fishbowl, food, water conditioner, rocks, plastic plant, and a gold fish. After a year Captain Hook (our pet goldfish) passed away. I went to get a new gold fish. I picked a specific fish and asked the store attendant to get it out of the tank. The tank was very large and had close to a hundred fish in it, a few of which were dead. She asked if I wanted a second fish. I said no I only wanted one fish. She asked how big my tank was. I said 2-3 gallons. At this time a manager approached. He refused to sell me the fish. He told me the 30 cent one inch long gold fish needed a 20 gallon tank. He then showed me the huge tank. I told him I simply wanted the one fish. I was incredulous. When I asked how they could sell me the fish and supplies originally and now tell me I needed the huge tank for this small fish. He replied "Google it Dude." With that disparaging comment, I left. The staff was condescending, unhelpful, rude, and only wanted to sell me hundreds of dollars of equipment when I wanted a gold fish. I went to Petsmart. I purchased a slightly larger tank, filter, heater, food, water conditioner, and of course a goldfish. My children are delighted with the new fish. Also a brief review of Google does not support his assertion that a 20 gallon tank is needed for one goldfish. read more

I'm a little surprised to see the negative reviews here - I have had outstanding customer service at this Petco location, and with a new puppy, I am here a LOT. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and has made some recommendations that have worked out really well for us. We also are also going to puppy classes here and I cannot recommend Gayle enough! She is a great trainer, and gives a lot of really practical, easy to understand and follow suggestions for how we can put the skills we learn to good use in real life. She's also extremely familiar with the traits of all sorts of dog breeds, and takes time to make suggestions that are applicable to each type of dog she's working with. She's fantastic. read more

I brought my senior dog in for grooming yesterday. I don't have enough good words to express how very pleased I am with the services provided. I had the BEST groomer ever! My little dog,Ellie, was absolutely bouncing, she was so happy. I immediately made another appointment for next month. I will be coming here for all my pet's needs. read more

There was hair all over the ground from pervous other dogs that had been groomed that had not been cleaned up. The staff was not very friendly or helpful. It's also a big pain to have to pay then go back to the grooming area to give them the sheet back of services when I'm not sure why the cashiers can't hold onto them until the end of the day. I'm only giving this one star because it is required. Amber the lady working today wouldn't groom my dog because he had seizures even though he I on medicine and has been having cuts without any issue for 13 years. She lied and told me she was checking company policy yet her manager told me it was because she was too nervous. Many little breeds have seizures. The customer service is not good here and I would never recommend any one go here. read more

New to the area and wanted to try them out for grooming. My wife went into the salon to book the appointment with a slightly less than qualified clerk. After what seemed like way too long for an average person to make an appointment, we were "all set." Fast forward a few weeks and we go to drop our dog off at the agreed upon time. Wouldn't you know it, our less than qualified clerk failed to actually make us an appointment. We were left standing there with nothing but, maybe you could try another store. The salon manager was unapologetic and did not offer to try and get our dog in anyway, "due to being short staffed." I think that things happen for a reason and our dog did not get groomed at Petco that day so these less than qualified groomers didn't cut off an ear or a tail. Lets just say we will stick with professional groomers going forward, thanks for wasting our time, Petco! read more
