On private lessons to teach my dog how to walk without pulling. 7 of 8 lessons was in a small room, where All she did was throw treats from one side of the room to the other side . We recently changed from Clever K9 to Pawsitive Vibes in Menasha and could not be happier! Only after switching have my suspicions been confirmed totally since you never know exactly what is happening behind closed doors at a groomer. Definitely do not recommend taking your dog here. My large golden doodle would be miserable for days after leaving this place. They would tell me they had to shave him completely after asking specifically not to. I was told once that if I didn't want him shaved down completely (because it made him sore and uncomfortable) that I was welcome to take him home and brush him better. For context I have been complimented by other groomers past and present on how well we keep him brushed. The staff is rude, they inexplicably take far longer than expected and will leave your dog sore uncomfortable and anxious to save themselves the "trouble" of doing the job correctly and humanely. read more

Horrible grooming and owner. I wouldn't bring my pets there even if they paid ME. Abusive and rude. My dog got a terribly deep cut by the groomer there (to the point my dog couldn't sleep and would literally fall asleep standing up from the pain, he couldnt lie down it hurt too much) he actually developed Cushings disease immediately after from the stress. YES, Cushings is caused by STRESS. He died 2 months later and suffered terribly the whole time. When I look back, I probably should've been put him down but it happened so quickly and he was loved so dearly! We spent over $1200 in 2 months on vet bills, medicine and special foods. I did contact the owner of Clever K9s (Adam) when it first happened and of course he did not care. He offered me a refund (which I did not want/accept) I just wanted some empathy but he could not care less about my pet. This is the first he knows my dog died. I'm sure he doesn't care about that either! Just stay away. read more

Horrible Horrible Horrible. The first time I left this review was when I arrived from Appleton at 6am and the doors never opened. I was repremanded at work for being over an hour late. They opened about 45 minutes later than the open time and had a line of people waiting. I had to decide to wait or drive all the way back to Appleton. This time was completely horrible. My dog has been scheduled for a grooming for nearly 2 months and her hair is bad (standard Poodle)! It was bad when I booked it and the only reason I booked with Clever K9 was because my original groomer was booked. I received a call while at work and called back after just to be told I missed my today's appointment. Now I wouldn't be upset if I hadnt called and confirmed this date weeks ago!!!!! So was the person just busy and agreeing then instead of giving me an accurate correction? Now they are refusing to get me in AT ALL because they are"booked," which I truly believe they are just saying because they know I'm leaving a review. I'm confused on how we went from speaking with Kate "I can see if I can get you in in a few weeks" to another person "Were completely booked, we can't get you in at all." The response I got after saying I'm leaving a review about this was, "this is Kate and I'm the one who made the appointment. I know I made it for Monday." You know every booking you've made and the day for the past 2 months? Unbelievable and horrible service. At the end of the day, my dog suffers. I'll continue to use Clever only when I have late nights, though I'll be weary going forward (How can I trust you with my baby if I can't even trust you with organized dates and confirmation?).Beware of your appointments! Book groomings anywhere but here. I'm at fault for relying on a daycare for additional services. I left my information to speak with Adam, the owner, I doubt anything will be done still. The only plus from this situation is that I haven't signed my dog up for trainings yet and now I know to invest my trust/money elsewhere going forward. **Update** Adam had a random person call me back. They terminated client relations because I was disrespectful by asking too many questions and getting angry over their mistake. I can't say I'm disappointed! No cussing had occured, I disconnected and called immediately back. Just questions were asked. This is how this local business treats it's customers! Again, Beware! I'm sure it was easier to end things rather than fix any mistakes made! read more

I had recently moved to the area and found out I had to un-expectantly go out of town for work. I needed to board my dog, so I checked out Clever K9s since it's right across town from me. I was very happy with the service I received there. The flexibility to drop of my dog anytime during the drop off window (and the same for pick up) makes life easy. No need to set up an exact appointment and be charged if you are running late. The staff are all passionate about dogs, and I felt like my dog was wanted there; he wasn't just "business". When I called to check on him, the staff all knew him by name and would give me updates on his behavior. He came home clean and happy when I picked him up from his 2 weeks stay! I will certainly continue to use Clever K9s for future trips! read more

They quit selling the med we use, that they sold me on. Down to 2 stars. Post 1: Parker loves to get his nails done here, The staff is so nice. Parker is a very high energy dog and they never have trouble with him. Their recommendations for food were spot on and at a fair price. They carry a calming pill that works well for us. read more

I emailed Clever K9's about boarding my dog this coming weekend and asked multiple questions. I work the night shift and am usually unable to call during their business hours. I haven't received any response and this is unfortunate because the reviews seemed good. Their online packet where you sign your dog's life away was discouraging, meaning they'll take no responsibility for any of their actions if your dog becomes injured due to their handling or allowance of recreation. read more

Both my dog and I love Clever K9s! I've been taking my dog to daycare here for a few months now and it's fantastic! She can hardly contain her excitement when she realizes where we are going. I love that they focus on training and don't let dogs get away with doing whatever they want, I truly believe my dog is more well behaved because she goes here. I also like that they cap the amount of dogs they will take each day so i know there is a watchful eye being kept over her. The staff is all very knowledgeable about food, grooming and training tips as well. I've moved since I first started taking her here and I drive an extra half an hour out of my way to bring her to Clever K9s because I trust them. read more

Without a doubt, this is the best dog training, boarding and daycare facility in the area. They also offer grooming, I just haven't used that. Nita, the owner, is very knowledgeable about dogs and can make my dog do anything! The staff are friendly, the place is clean and best of all, my dog LOVES GOING THERE. He's a little guy with a lot of energy, and we take him to daycare every so often to burn off some steam. We also board him there and have his nails regularly trimmed there. They have a very large facililty, and are very careful with the animals and treat owners very respectfully, I highly recommend them! read more

We adopted a sweet, adorable, albeit skittish little dog a few months ago. We have been getting him groomed here since we got him, and they do a fantastic job with him! They clip his nails SO FAST he doesn't even have time to freak out about strangers handling him. He has short hair but sheds like CRAZY, and they do a great job brushing him out for us also. Their prices are competitive with other places in the area and I love that they are locally owned and operated. read more

We have always brought my dog to Clever K9's but we are upset with the past visit, which was 5 days long. We packed him treats and asked if they could give him one randomly but none of them were given to him. I don't know if it's because he "barked to much" he's a dog! They bark! My dog is such a good dog and I want him in caring hands. read more

Adam and his team are wonderful! They take excellent care of dogs and cats, and always stock the latest and greatest products. This is a great dog training facility. I have trained dogs in several states in the Midwest and Clever K9's is a class act. The trainers are not only knowledgeable about dogs, but communicate well with the owners. Everyone really seems to have the best interest of the dog clearly in focus at all times. They also work well with problem dogs and give you every opportunity to learn to help your dog be well behaved and enjoy life at the same time. I would recommend all of their services without reservation. We drive nearly an hour each way just to train our dogs with them. read more

We were looking for a place to board our dog while we were on vacation. We are new to the area and had a great place where we moved from. Our pup always did well. When we called them, they said they had to evaluate her. So we took her for doggy day care. They said she did fine in a group, but wanted to work with her saying she didn't do well in the kennel. Again, she never had any problem at our previous boarding place. After a couple visits, they approved her for our travel. However, a couple days later our dog got sick with Kennel Cough (which she got at their facility). We called them and let them know that she got sick and they said that they knew and were dealing with it at their facility. We got medicine from our veterinary clinic about five days before we were to leave on our trip. She was on antibiotics for about 5 days and getting much better. However, we tried to take her over the day before we were about to leave, they wouldn't take her. They never said anything about this when we called previously to let them know. So we ended up having to scramble to find someone to take care of her. I can't see us ever considering them again in the future. The whole thing was pretty frustrating!!! read more

Stay away! We've tried to use this facility a few times for our dog as it received very good reviews. Each boarding/daycare experience has been very poor. Twice while boarding we were called to come pick up our dog because she wasn't doing well while kenneled. They then insisted that we put our dog on medication for any future stays. The staff is a bunch of teenagers who maybe have pets at home-they provided no support or guidance as to how to help remedy/ease our dogs' separation anxiety-just "drug" her. Also, we found out on our last stay that the boarding area is not supervised over night-basically the dogs are left alone! In addition, the "play" area is simply a small, hard concrete area with a few children's play toys-not ideal for our dog to run and play. We initially thought that our dog just wasn't able to be boarded-we then tried another facility with miraculous results. They recommended that we DON'T use medication and after a 3 night stay informed us that she did just fine and actually enjoyed her time there. The entire situation with Clever K9s was extremely stressful and frustrating. I understand that sometimes dogs just don't do well with boarding, but to bring her somewhere else without any problems just erks me. The thought of medicating my dog just so it is easier for the staff to deal with is unacceptable. While the owner/trainer may have dog experience, I'm not comfortable with the competence of their business practices. read more
