I have been bringing my dog here since she was a puppy, so 12 years now. The staff is so friendly. They have treated not just my dog but my family well too. Any time I had something arise when I need daycare or boarding they have always made room for my girl. My dog gets so excited when she goes I can't even pack her boarding bag until I am ready to leave the house because she gets so excited. I've been taking my two new rescue pups to the Dog House for the past two months. I've not had and issue and Jake and Ruby love going there. It's pretty clear the hours are 6:30-6:30, which I appreciate. I travel out of town and am able to drop them off and not worry about rushing back. I also have used them in the past to board my old dogs and was very pleased. I should add, I am very observant and picky where I leave my pups. I have no worry about the Dog House. read more

If this was just based on the cut, it would be a 1-Star. I do like that they keep your dog for the day after grooming, and the people seem nice. However, we asked for 1-inch off and they took quite a bit more than an inch off. We also had to clean up a lot of long chunks of fur and blend some clipper lines. We have kept our dog and cat here while on vacation, and have always been nothing but impressed. The staff are really friendly and take good care of your pets (at least dogs and cats). They have never hesitated to call me if they have a question or something's wrong. I can't comment on the previous reviewer's cheap food complaint, since I always send my pets in with the food they are eating at home, so that they don't have a difficult transition in the kennel. Read my review on how they wouldn't stay a few minutes past their posted 'closing' time when I was on my way back from Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. I made several calls knowing I would be back in Appleton within minutes of them closing, and they absolutely refused to work with me. Their excuse was that one of their employess was using Uber, and coudn't stay - well, there were at least 2 others that could've, and THEIR excuse was that the OWNER of the business wouldn't allow them to stay beyond closing time. I literally arrived like 7 minutes after they locked the doors. I ended up asking a neighbor to go get him out and just walk him around outside for a few minutes until my arrival, which thankfully, she did. I don't recommend ANYONE doing business with this place, especially when you're dealing with basically a family member; your living, breathing anxious pet waiting to be reunited with it's owner. read more

We are visiting from Florida and needed to board our fur-baby for the day and this place was great! Our doggy was super happy to meet the other dogs in their doggy day care and they even giver you a report card when you pick them up. Not so great. My dog came back not as clean and brushed as I'd hoped. But the main thing is that they seem irritated with you and your dog, and they don't listen. I asked them not to kennel my dog after he was finished with his grooming, because he doesn't get kenneled at home, and they just said sure, and then they did it anyway. I'm sure they assumed I wouldn't know or didn't know what I was talking about with my dog? Well, my dog freaked out and pooped all over the kennel and himself, and then they had to give him another bath, and they were angry with ME! They never apologized for kenneling him when I specifically said not to. They don't listen and they don't treat your dog personally. Appleton has better groomers. read more

Called today to set up an evaluation day for my English Bulldog. I was told that they don't accept Bulldogs over a year old because they are a bully breed. Have they ever seen a bulldog? He's a lazy sloth like dog! Not aggressive at all! Very disappointed read more

Our puppy got hurt pretty badly today at The Dog House on Nordale Dr, Appleton from a portion of wire on their fence.... When initally contacted by the employee, we were informed that the injury resulted from the fence. When we arrived back to ask about insurance and request that they pay for the vet bills, they then stated they have no idea how it happened. The owner refused to fill out an incident report or to pay for the vet bills resulting from their damaged property. read more

I started talking my dog to The Dog House recently for day care so he could get familiar with the place before being boarded. He has some special needs and they have treated him wonderfully and kept a close eye on him. He willingly goes into the back with the staff and actually tries to stay when I come and get him. He has done day care at multiple places all over the country so I'm pretty good at reading how he feels about a place. He seems to be very happy here and that's all that matters to me! read more

I dropped my dogs off on Saturday afternoon and picked up at 1:00pm the next day (less than 24 hours) and was charged a full two days of boarding and daycare. I was told that was their policy, just like a hotel. Well even a hotel doesn't charge a whole extra night. They will at least allow for a later check out if needed. Our boarding charge was more than one night for our entire family at a hotel with a waterpark. I normally would not complain, but this along with the errors that we have encountered with our reservations make me question ever going back. read more

We picked up our dog a day early because our trip was cut short. He stayed at the Dog House for a week. He was just groomed two days before his stay. I was shocked to find him in absolute filth. All four paws were so urine soaked they were stained yellow. His belly was also soaked in urine and had a greasy film to the touch. He smelled so bad even after two baths. When I spoke to the assistant manager she told me that they planned on bathing him the next day. When I asked about his condition she told me that he urinated on all four of his paws and all of the fur on his underside. I had no idea that I owned such an incredible dog who could defy gravity. I am just sick to think of what my dog went through this past week. There is no way on God's green earth that he urinated all over himself, to the point of staining his freshly groomed fur. It is more likely from the stained fur and stench that he laid in his urine for days. So very sad! read more
