This is my first time at Petbar and it has met my expectations. Carolyna did such a great job on my mini golden doodle and really listened to what I wanted. The boutique was clean and welcoming. Customer service was great. I liked the flexibility to book appointments online and receive appointment confirmations/reminders via email and text. Depending on the services that you need and your dog size, the bill can add up but you get a happy and polished dog. I will definitely be bringing my baby back.

Matter dirty fur where you can see they didn't blow him out and let him kennel dry.

BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. Where to begin. This place would get negative stars if I could give them. They have continuously gone down hill with terrible groomers that barely speak English, so when you tell them what you want, it does not happen. I have a large Pomsky. He is 75 lbs of super soft fur. I took him there yesterday for an 11 am appt. Dropped him off at 10:30. They had him 7 and a half hours. I had to tell them I was coming to get him at 540 at night because I had some place to be. They didn't take him out to potty and they didn't give him water. I told them not to use a deshedding shampoo because it will dry out his hair and make it worse if they don't deep condition him. Well they used deshedding shampoo and little to no conditioner and they let him kennel dry. Well needless to say they ruined his hair by not conditioning or drying it to get out the tangles, now he is a matted mess. Poor thing hurts and is in pain. They shaved him down to the skin on the inside of his back legs and clearly tried to fix the kennel drying with a deshedding brush and took out massive chunks from his hair. They have given me a million excuses and tried to act like I don't pet my dog daily to know what his fur is like. I have since shampooed and conditioned him and he is already a ton better, but his stomach will be a challenge because they made him so sore. Also refused to refund my money. This place is terrible. Highly DO NOT recommend.

**WARNING!!** Before You Trust The Mutt Puddle With Your Dog -- Read This First!!!…read more As a new customer, I recieved that red carpet treatment that makes you think you've finally found "the place." The lesson I learned this time is that the true character of a business isn't revealed when everything goes right. It's revealed when something goes wrong. My situation started with a grooming appointment. The Korean cut I requested wasn't what I received. However, that was not my biggest concern. A really bad grooming job grows back, and I could have easily laughed that off and moved on. What I couldn't overlook was that my tiny 5lb Maltese had a puncture wound (the size of a pencil tip eraser) under her chin and a belly covered in abrasions (guessing from hot clippers). When I got home and discovered the injuries, I emailed TMP immediately. I expected: concern for her well-being and a sincere effort to make things right. Instead, I got a lengthy email about "miscommunication" regarding the grooming. I got an apology. What I didn't get was the one thing I was looking for: genuine human concern for my injured dog. Accidents happen. A mistake and owning it does not automatically lose a customer. The solution was never complicated. A simple acknowledgment (regardless of how it happened). My tiny dog came home hurt and that mattered. A refund as a gesture of respect. Before writing this review, I posted this scenario online in a small dog group. I asked a few simple questions: Would you be upset by these injuries? Is "sorry for the miscommunication" enough? Should a refund be offered? Would you return? The majority of the people who responded to the survey are dog lovers, breeders, rescue shelter owners, show dog handlers, vets and professional groomers who unanimously agreed that they would be upset and that they would not return. Several professionals commented that while accidents can happen, transparency and accountability matter. One comment stood out above all the others: "When I read the salon's response, I don't see a groomer saying, 'I'm concerned about Tina.' I see a business saying, 'You can't prove this was us.'" That perfectly captured what I had been struggling to put into words for this review. David Vargas from TMP responded to that online post. Instead of empathy, there were disclaimers. Instead of a heartfelt attempt to make things right, there was a carefully crafted argument about why I shouldn't feel the way I do. He accused me of painting the business in a bad light. No. I simply described what happened and how it was handled. When your instinct is to defend your reputation instead of showing concern for an injured animal, the picture pretty much paints itself. This experience was extremely upsetting for my family, traumatic for our Tina, and I worry about her demeanor when I take her to a new groomer. She's such a tiny baby and to minimalize our situation has been heartbreaking. Our pets rely entirely on us to protect them and on the professionals caring for them to uphold the trust placed in their hands. For all animal lovers, that trust is sacred. One of the most concerning things I discovered after this experience was The Mutt Puddle's liability policy. Their policy (search for it online) states; that pet owners assume all responsibility when leaving their pets in the salon's care and that The Mutt Puddle and its staff will not be held responsible for injuries, deaths, medical bills, clipper burns, cuts, stress-related issues, or nearly any other problem that may arise during grooming. Reading this after my little girl was injured helped me understand why David Vargas response was defensive .. rather than showing (on a case by case basis) concern for my dog and respect for me as a valuable client. I understand that policies exist BUT they should protect everyone involved, not one sided AND they should never replace compassion, responsibility, and concern for an animal's well-being. New and existing customers should read their policies carefully and decide for themselves whether that reflects the kind of care they want for their pets. We've lost complete trust in The Mutt Puddle and will not go back. They have taught me the difference between customer service and reputation control. Good luck with that business model.

After waiting 6 weeks for my appointment to come, they asked the week of my appointment if it could be moved up from 1p.m. to 8:30 a.m. - sure thing I just moved my day around. My pup and I were excited to meet our new groomer, sadly didn't feel our groomer was too thrilled to meet us. We greeted her at our front door, groomer made a face at my dog barking and her first words were, "what are we doing with this one"....not a single greeting or cared to ask my dog's name. The groomer continued being condescending, I had to stop her and tell her, "it seems like you are having a bad day and you don't have to groom my dog, we can cancel". She quickly changed her attitude. What a disappointing first experience! My dog was able to get groomed. The cut was actually great. Definitely higher end of price point for a 10lb Maltipoo - $170 with tip. If you choose to book them, don't expect Shannon to express any joy when coming to pick up your pup. First and last time using them.

Sunday evening my son was out at Lake Lavon and saw a couple of stray labradoodles eating in the trash. So he brought them home and although we tried, the doodles had been loose in the brush and thickets around the lake for some time and their coats were full of burrs and sticker bushes. It was terrible. We tried to do the best cleaning we could so that at least the female doodle could eat again as the burrs were all around her mouth, but they were still in rough shape. Was planning on taking them to the Allen shelter Monday morning but they wouldn't take them as they were found outside city limits and said contact the county shelter. Unfortunately county shelter is closed on Mondays. I decided to get them a professional groom to clean them up properly but no one would see them on such short notice. A few told me that they could see them in a month even after I explained the situation. :( I called Bark and Purr and although they were closed for renovations, the owner Linda listened to the story about the doodles and told me to bring them immediately and she'll take care of them personally. And she did. Not only did they give them a shampoo and cleaning but also offered to let them stay in their kennels until we found the owners or could place them with the DFW doodle rescue as we have 2 pups and limited space. She then sent out the picture of the doodles to all her accounts and sure enough one of their customers knew the doodles' owners and contacted the owners and they were reunited. In the end not only did Bark and Purr Grooming go above and beyond what other groomers would do but also helped to reunite the doodles with their family just for the love of all animals. I couldn't have done it myself and I truly appreciated how much care Bark and Purr showed to these poor lost doodles. Highly recommend this business in every way I can. I will always be taking my muppets here from now on and tell everyone always use Bark and Purr. They truly care. Much love.

We wanted to keep some length on our sweet pup, but make sure she would be cool enough with outside temperatures. Lovey was happy when we picked her up, which tells me she was loved while there. They were both visibly upset due to a situation unrelated to the business and the staff was beyond kind and made sure my children and I were safe and okay. We will definitely be back! Thank you Bark and Purr!!!
