We live in Philly…read morenow and have an emergency vet here, but PVS's service and care has been so outstanding that I can't imagine branching out to another vet for regular checkups. I took Darcy in the other day for her booster shots and as always was very pleased with the experience as a whole. We were greeted with a big smile by the tech working the desk and didn't wait more than 5 minutes before being escorted to the back. I never thought that someone else could "baby talk" to Darcy as much as I do, but I was proven well matched when Dr. Amy Kidd and the tech (her name has slipped my mind) walked in. Dr. Kidd got down on her knees to greet and shower Darcy with attention and admiration. Darcy's whole demeanor had changed when we walked into the office (mine would too if I knew I was about to be poked and prodded), so I was impressed when her tail perked up a little for Dr. Kidd. Dr. Kidd took her time to explain and answer my questions thoroughly. She even dressed Darcy in an adorable Easter bandana for being such a good girl during the exam. I was relieved when Darcy was all pants and tail wags by the end of the exam. I think the cost was reasonable ($160 for exam fees, tests, booster shots). Personally, receiving this kind of quality service for a good price makes the trek back to West Chester worth it for my pup.

Multiple experiences which offended me drove me to find a different provider for my fur babies. I brought my dog in for a spay, and she came home with an area of bleeding abrasion from clippers and three bleeding toenails -- none of which were mentioned to me. The nurse insisted the cut was just a "razor burn" and "not a big deal." She got defensive because the nail trimming was "a favor." My dog has clear toenails, so it's kinda hard to miss. This care strikes me as substandard. No apology, no explanation -- and when we returned for a follow up to make the situation better, the office felt hostile. We switched vets right after, and it felt the best thing for my dog. Two months later, I received an invoice for a bill I had already paid. When I called for instructions to clear up the error, the attitude was like a brick wall. Impolite and unhelpful. A secretary was dismissive, saying the burden of clearing it up was on me, and to "check the bank statements." Overall, an upsetting experience. I would not recommend this clinic.

Odd because my dog was there not that long ago. My dog is sick, losing weight, loss in appetite. I have been in contact with the vet via phone days prior to attempting to make this appointment. After explaining my concern to this receptionist, she stated there is a $25 fee. I never heard of it before and asked about it and asked if I could pay during the appointment. She rudely stated, "If you aren't paying for this now, I am deleting all this information and not making your appointment." I was so upset. I have trusted the lives of my many animals over years to this office. My dog is sick. I didn't have my wallet available as I was outside with her because she is sick. A year ago my dog started with a itching problem and he had scratched himself bald spot near the tail and the rear back. Took him in, they gave him a thorough exam and they thought it was an anal glad issue as it was a little inflamed and I could see the logic of that. They took him back and shave some of the hair around the bald spots that where infected so they would heal better and cleaned them up. They gave me antibiotic and inflammatory. All good with this visit with the vet we had always seen since we first visited 7 years ago. Things heal over the next few month he was still itching, but nothing that caused bald spots. Then came round two and he scratched himself open ever worst. I made a new appointment. This time I saw their newest Vet Dr. Mann. She had a bad bed side manner and a bit unpleasant. I wasn't really happy interacting with her at all. She didn't really look at my dog that much and interacted less. She asked me a few question, gave me little information and sent me home with a antibiotic and . The inflammation went down, but the itching continued when it was done. This time I tried shampoos to help the itch. I had some success, but in another several months he had a bad itch outbreak and we were back. I asked not to get Dr. Mann this time, but when I went to the appointment I was given her. This time she examined him even less and gave me nothing, but some gauze with a solution she said they use in surgery. Was kind of unset after that. I massaged them about the itching a few weeks later. They told me that Dr Mann had given me options, but I turned them down, I told them I was give no option. They gave me the option then and I picked a allergy injection. I was on it for four months with no real change from what I had been seen. itching off and on and once he caused a bald spot, until the end of February. He then got the worst reaction yet two weeks into the the fourth injection. At this point I should have found a new vet, but gave them another try. Again I asked to not get Dr Mann. I got there and we were give a just a vet tech. She looked him over a bit more the Dr. Mann, but not as much as much as the vet I had always seen in the past. The vet tech then looked at me and said that "we have no idea what is causing his itching". I really wanted to say something rude at this point as I was frustrated, but didn't. Just took the antibiotics, an allergy pill this time and left. Once the antibiotic were done the itching returned and the new allergy med was doing nothing. I messaged them about this and I got radio silent from them. So I start to look for a new vet and something I could help with on my own to control some of the itching. I started use a blend of coconut oil and Shea butter on his hot spots and that would at least calm them down over several hours. So far the new vet has been much better them my last three visits to Elk Creek. She asked me all kind of question, got on the floor with my dog and examined him very well. She could smell a yeast smell from him, even smelled his ear, she said for one he either had a fungal infection or it was most likely yeast build up on his skin from him lick and biting at himself. She told it could a thyroid issue and what to test that so she was changing something it wasn't, it wasn't so they took him off and cleaned him up. The vet went off to work out the bill as I was limited on money at the moment after the last three visited to the old vet. Anyways she seems to have figure it out, we still need to adjust the meds going forward. I wish that Elk Creek was still like that, but from my last three visit they aren't. Sad

No notification to former clients. My two cats needed vaccinations. When I got home the rabies certificates showed the exact weight as 3 years ago. I call to get the current weight and it had never been recorded! I had to make 3 calls to the office to get a summary of the visit concerning dental surgery for my one cat. Then I find out no surgical procedures are done at the West Grove location! The main location is in Newark, DE. All the positive reviews on here are prior to the new owners taking over. BEWARE!!!!

Now they are saying also that it will take 48 hours to get a vet to write a prescription and you have to come in and pick it up. First off this place is not that busy and are we going back to the Stone Age handwriting scripts and taking them to the pharmacy. This place is a joke. They don't care about your animals just you wallet. Also Reese the assistant is super rude and should find a profession that doesn't deal with people.

I recently switched my 10 little dogs to Cypress Vet from a practice I had been with for 25+ years…read more I have been very, very pleased with the care my senior (ages 9 to 17-1/2 years) dogs have received from Cypress, including a euthanasia in July. All the vets (4) I have dealt with have been kind, knowledgeable, and willing to discuss every option with regard to treatment and finances. They provide excellent follow-up; after each visit, I receive an email synopsis of the appt findings and treatment, which I find extremely helpful. Cypress works very well with Chewy for prescriptions (and autoship is a blessing). Their front-office staff and technicians are exceptional for their helpfulness, patience, and knowledge. Yes, vet care can be expensive, but consider the advanced technology and treatment options that our pets can now receive. There's a price for that. Cypress is still less expensive than my previous vet. I absolutely recommend Cypress Vet.

Dr. Muse is a great guy and cares very much for the animals he treats. We brought our ferret, Ruby…read morefor a vaccine and she had a bad reaction to the vaccine and started dying right in front of us. Dr. Muse promptly gave her treatment while also keeping us calm. She was a little touch and go for a few minutes but after he treated her, she began to recover quickly and within 24 hours she was back to her old (bad) self. If it were not for the quick actions and caring heart of Dr. Muse, I don't think Ruby would have made it. For his trouble, he got a handful of ferret diarrhea. This vet office is pretty pricey, I will admit, but their service and heart is worth the price when you're taking care of your family. Thank you, Dr. Muse. Ruby thanks you as well. She feels bad about pooping on you but is grateful you helped her feel better. She wanted me to relay that next time, she won't be as hard on you!

Our elderly dog suffers from chronic pain resulting from a past injury. Dr. Roesener spent a lot of time carefully evaluated our dog during a recent flair and came up with a treatment plan that alleviated the dog's pain and increased his mobility. Not to mention, our dog is acting like his happy old self again. So grateful to have such a wonderful vet in our community!
