I'm leaving five stars because it's a smaller chain, has lots of variety, AND it price matches. That being said, I would have given three or four stars because the guinea pigs/hamsters are right next to the snakes - I assume they feed the snakes in the cages and the rodents would likely smell the (hopefully deceased) feeder rodents/innards, or the snakes would smell the rodents. It would be ideal to keep snakes and their food on opposite ends of the store, or at least not in adjacent cages. Aside from that, I really like the store. It has plenty of variety of food, or cats, dogs, and other pets. They're local, the prices are competitive, and I like how clean the store is. The employees are incredibly helpful, as I had two employees come up to me and ask if I needed assistance. It's a good local pet supplies shop. read more

When going to Trader Joe's we saw that the lights were on and doors open here. When we went in, they stated that they were not "open" yet, so more like they are soft opened? They have a Grand opening Saturday and Sunday April 27-28 which sounds awesome! Raffles, pet washes, music, prizes! I am basing this off of the appearance of the store ( it's new, so of course its all shiny) and the products. They carry a lot of the better rated pet brands which is awesome, and they have so many different and awesome Doggy treats, specifically ones that my 100lb dog brother loves! They were all super nice when we stopped in, and highly encouraging for us to come back to the grand opening! read more

LongYellowDog and TailWagger were in. Red of grooming. Their previous groomer had left the business. After one of them may have rolled in some coyote scat, they both had some home grooming. But the decision was made to find a new groomer stat. There were ears that needed trimming. Paws that needed to be "un grinched", deshedding that was well of my scope. When we were grocery shopping, we stopped by this shop. Poked around a few minutes. Then spoke to the groomer. Keisha was and is amazing with these pups! I also love that you can schedule on-line. You will need to bring in proof of rabies and all that. We drop the pup off, go get lunch or coffee and pick him up about two hours later, based on the schedule they have working. Keisha was very good in the intake, when I told her about certain things each dog needed and if they had any lives or hates about grooming. Make sure you plan ahead about a week or so. Keisha is the primary groomer, and she does need days off :) If you are a do it yourselfer kind of dog bather, they have lovely doggie spa stations set up. I did not use them, but, they looked amazing. So far all the staff I have met, on three visits, have been very nice and helpful. Pro-tip: sign up for the rewards club for awesome coupons! read more

My partner and I come here to self-bathe our large breed puppy, and it is soooo much better than doing it at home. It also only costs $15 versus the grooming at Petco and everywhere else that would cost us $70+. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming of us bringing our puppy here to work on socialization, which is super nice because we were originally very worried about her being in public since she is naturally so shy of people. We all enjoy coming here and will be back soon! read more

Amazing new pet store in Escondido! Disabled parking directly across from the front doors, motion-activated doors, carts and baskets inside, brightly lit, and the kindest employees!!! Shout out to the wonderful woman with dark hair who spoke to my wife and I about the animals they sell! She also gave me a mini dog bed to borrow in the cart so my senior dog could lay down. Hands down the best customer service I've experienced at a pet supply store! They are so well-stocked and everything is very clean and organized. This is my new go-to pet store! read more

This review is based solely off of customer service. I drive by this place at least once a week because I love doing my shopping at Trader Joe's. Before it opened I was super excited I told my sister about it. When I drove by last time I saw they had a self service wash and I decided to check if they offered grooming services since I'm looking for a new groomer for my Turbo. I called in and John answered, I just want to say the customer service provided was absolutely amazing. He answered all my questions, he told me about their website, and he even took the time to explain how the grooming process works. The website itself was super detailed and showed me all the prices and different packages when it comes to booking grooming services. They have add ons, different spaw treatments and I was so happy to finally have a website be transparent when it comes to pricing! I have never booked a grooming service so quick. Unfortunately we drove all the way up from San Diego to get our puppy groomed here and when the groomer said it would be 3-4 hours, that was a deal breaker. I went in two days before to make the appointment (while I was getting dog food) and the receptionist at the grooming counter said Thursday there was availability and I specifically asked "what the time length would be"and she ensured me 1 1/2 to 2 hours so I happily booked. So when I went in two days later, the groomer told me 3-4 hours. I was disappointed and wanted to share this Info with any potential customers to make sure they don't have the same experience I had to endure. Our time is valuable and if the company cannot understand that then we should take our business elsewhere. After all, there are 100 other dog groomers in the city that will happily give us correct information and proper scheduling. read more

This place is fantastic. I had to go looking just for meds at first for my dogs. They could not have been more helpful and kind second I took both my dogs which are pit bulls to be groomed, they did. The best job ever and everyone from the manager to the groomer to others. There are so kind caring and personable on top of all that this place is immaculate you could literally eat off the floors. I called in to inquire about the dog wash area. Kallieta answeeed the phone and was extremely pleasant and resourceful. Took our dog in that same day and she and Cathy were phenomenal. The customer service there exceeded our expectations. Cathy(I hope that was her name) saw how our dog was pulling while walking the aisles and she approached us and asked if she could make a suggestion. I stopped by to check out this store and have mixed feelings about it. The grooming area may be great for those who need it, but I was only interested in the other part of the store. The staff is very friendly. The girl who helped me asked if I found everything I was looking for. When I said they didn't carry all the brands I normally buy she tried to get me to try the brands they carry. Not a good idea with a 16 year old dog with dietary issues, as I explained to her. She then asked me if I usually shop at the pet store across the street, because she knew they carried those brands. When I responded "yes", she went on to talk trash about the other store. Dog and cat food prices are slightly lower than competitors, but the staff are worth a million bucks! I have shopped here many times since they have opened. Because I don't live close, I often buy in bulk to insure I don't run out. Unfortunately my dog passed from a fast aggressive cancer, and I was left with 1 unopened bag of $100 food. I called after she was diagnosed and asked about returning the bag. I was told that because I was over the 90 days I could return it but would only get a 50% refund. After my dog passed and I was finally able to pull myself together and make the 45 minute trip to return the food, 2 weeks later, I was denied the return by the store manager. Not only did he not keep the word of the employee and allow the return, but never once did he show any sympathy for my loss or even say sorry. I will never shop here again! read more

Pet supplies Plus Escondido is easily our favorite place to get all of our pets needs. They have been incredibility helpful and always friendly. The self service dog wash is fantastic, especially for our big dog, and their professional groomer knocked it out of the park with our 11yr old schnauzer.
