It turned out darling. Christa is very communicative. She has an instant pet rapport; though he was shaking when I left Pinto clearly was made comfortable during his grooming. The price was reasonable and she was super accommodating schedule-wise. We've definitely found our forever groomer!

She called me after two hours to let me know he was ready and complained that he "hasn't learned to stop barking". Anyone with any dog knowledge knows that puppies bark when they are under stress. During the phone conversation, we had a minute with a bad connection and I told her that I missed some of what she had just said because the phone had cut out. She rudely commented, "no, that was your dog barking." She proceeded to REPEATEDLY yell, "Stop that!" at my pup, while calling him by name...while I was LISTENING on the phone. Anyone with any dog knowledge knows that when a dog is stressed out and barking, the last thing that you want to do is yell at them. It only increases stress and therefore increases their barking. I immediately drove to pick up my puppy. When I got there, the lady at the desk told me the price, which was five dollars more than what we had agreed upon. I told her that the amount was $45 last month for the same service. She asked the owner, who rudely replied, "Well, it's $50 today". When I asked what the difference was, she told me that my puppy hadn't stopped barking & he had thrown up and she had to clean it up & do more brushing. I told her that I imagine he threw up because he was stressed and that I heard her yelling at him while I was on the phone, so I could only imagine how she treated him when I wasn't on the phone. She looked right at me & denied yelling at him. (I know what I heard) I would never take an animal to this woman again. Oh...and guess who hasn't barked ONCE since we picked him up?

I have two 20 lb rescues (Terrier mix). One of them is OCD and is VERY nervous/uncomfortable in unfamiliar situations. The other one is totally chill but I didn't want them to be crated for hours as so many grooming salons do to the dogs. I couldn't be happier with the grooming they both got. Since it was my first visit, Jolie (owner) asked alot of questions about the cuts I was wanting and more importantly she listened thoughtfully to issues that were important to me. My appointment was for 1.30 and 2 1/2 hours later, my happy unstressed dogs were out the door looking great! (note here - Salvador Dogi only books appointments for time she is available, the dogs are not kept for endless hours in crates). Another important consideration was pricing which is very competitive and fair. I wholeheartedly recommend Salvador Dogi Salon.

During one of the hardest seasons of our lives, when no one wanted to take him for grooming because of his age, Sam did without hesitation. She treated him with so much love, patience, and dignity. He was always comfortable with her, and that meant everything to me. Elvis has since passed, and when I recently brought my new dog in, Sam became emotional remembering him. Seeing how much she genuinely cared touched my heart deeply. It showed me that this isn't just a job for her she truly loves the dogs she cares for. We are extremely disappointed by our most recent grooming experience at Cali Pets. We had used this business twice before and previously had positive experiences grooming our two wooly-coated huskies, which is why this outcome was so upsetting. Our dogs have long, thick coats that can mat quickly during seasonal changes, especially in spring. Our male husky, Arkin, is particularly prone to matting around the belly and sides. Because of this, we sometimes trim down problem areas at home before bringing him in, with the goal of preventing larger sections of the coat from becoming impacted while still preserving as much of his fur as possible. That is also what we expected from a professional grooming visit: help managing difficult areas while saving as much coat as reasonably possible. Before this appointment, we had already trimmed much of the fur on his belly and sides, while most of his back remained intact. When we picked him up, we were shocked to find that he had been shaved down almost entirely, including areas that we did not believe required that level of removal. In our view, this was an unnecessarily extreme result, especially in April and especially for a senior dog. Equally concerning was the lack of communication throughout the appointment. Both of our dogs were scheduled that morning. After waiting about 30 minutes, we were told our male dog would need to come back later. We adjusted our day and returned him at approximately 2:30 pm. Around 3:45 pm, we were told he would take longer than expected and would miss the originally quoted pickup window of 4:30-5:00 pm. After that, we did not receive a proper update. The shop closed at 5:30 pm, our calls later went to voicemail, and by after 6:30 pm we were concerned enough that we drove there ourselves to make sure everything was okay. When we arrived, we were told the staff had taken a break and were still finishing up. When we finally saw our dog, the result was far more severe than anything we had expected or would have agreed to had it been clearly explained in advance. We also disagree with several points in the owner's public response. In particular, it is not accurate to say service was refused. Both dogs were scheduled, and we were instructed to bring our male dog back later due to how the appointment was being handled. We also do not agree that this exact outcome was the only possible option. For reference, the three photos we included were posted to show context. One shows our pup before his appointment to give a sense of the length of his coat even when cut down significantly already. Another shows the result after this grooming visit. The third shows an example from a prior at-home trim, included to demonstrate that in the past we have been able to cut down problem areas while still preserving substantial fur rather than taking nearly the entire body down to the skin. That comparison is exactly why this result was so upsetting to us. If such an extreme shave was truly the only humane option, that should have been communicated clearly and directly beforehand. Had that been explained to us in plain terms, we would have declined and made a different decision for our dog. We are sharing our experience so other pet owners can make an informed decision. We have included before-and-after photos, as well as examples of prior trims done at home for comparison.

Our dog is very anxious, but Joni still does an amazing job on him, twice a month. We recommended her to our neighbors and now 3 of them use her services as well. As a mobile groomer, she parks at our driveway and grooms our dog (from wash, blow dry, grooming, trim of nails, and anal expression if requested). Very convenient. Admittedly, text communication can be hard since she is an one-person business and she is in high demand. But be patient...she will text you back!
