I recently went back to the groomers here at Per Supplies Plus. I requested Kate who did an exceptional grooming job on my little girl. Unfortunately she was not a groomer anymore according to Otis on the phone. Well, I made the appointment and I am so very disappointed in her haircut. She had stringy long hair on her ears, her hair is choppy all over instead of smooth and he didn't groom her stomach area, it long. Her facial area looks all uneven. My time here was absolutely awful. Besides one worker who was very nice, it smelt awful and the other was very rude. They need to learn how to care for their animals correctly. Guinea Pigs need to live in pairs BUT they had 1 Guinea pig per cage. My friend and I came to buy Guinea pigs so we wanted to hold them first. One nice person working there said we could try and hold them but they are shy. So we asked her and she sent another worker over the help us. Creating an oceanic environment thousand of miles away from the tropical oceans located in the far west oceans is clearly a challenge, the challenge is extended further when a restricted student budget comes into play. Yet Pet extreme in my opinion is by far the best generic pet retailer out of the three in the Fresno region (Petsmart, Petco and Pet extreme). It caries all the essentials I needed when I wanted to start my salt water aquarium, and at an extremely affordable price. I must admit I did shop around for the aquarium itself at other locations since pet extreme was a little pricey in comparison to other places at the time, and I did buy my filters and skimmers online via amazon, since it was cheaper ( saving every cent helps). However when it comes to live sand $24, live fishes $10 and up, live pants, decorations $2 and up, aquarium salt $6.99 for 10 gallons, hood covers ($8.99 and up) and lighting, pet extreme delivered perfectly, and was always reliable to have it. I have purchased my fishes from here including an occelaris (clown fish), tomato clown fish, damsel fish and a filefish gib for my tank. Also some of its invertebrates including the emerald crab, turbo snail, merit snail, and bumble bee snail. They have all lived (ever since) and been in perfect condition. I was really impressed that Pet extreme would also take back fishes if I did have a problem (with a receipt of course). And I did encounter a temperament problem within my tank, in which my fishes didn't get along (being new to the saltwater aquarium, I had lack of experience with fish temperament), Pet extreme took back the fish and refunded my money 100%, no questions asked. They also would take a fish if it died within 1 week. They would however require a water test. Speaking of water test, they would do it for free too. Additionally, Pet extreme would take live fishes under volunteer basis. For example when I do need to move and I need to get rid of my live fish, they would take it, (for Free of course), when other places wouldn't take it and would quarantine and take care of the fish, till it finds a new owner. So I do applaud them for rehabilitating and taking back some fishes to be resold. Their service is quite friendly and genuine, but at times their staffing is quite short handed. Therefore getting attention at certain times could be an issue, however their staff is quite knowledgeable and is able to give advise about question that a first timer might have. But overall the store is very big and has plenty of space to roam as I shop, and it hardly gets crowded. Plenty of parking in its private lot, and its right next to food maxx, which makes it a great pit stop for 2 in one. read more

There's a difference between customer service and annoying. Came here to check availability and of course price on a bag of dog food that is newer and not available everywhere. This guy accosts me and won't leave me alone stating he's the store nutrition specialist or some bs like that. He really didn't listen to me or read my signals at all. I know too well what my dogs need after several vet's opinions and years with the breed. He's not gonna sell me anything other than what I came to see. So I made him show me everything else I might be even curious about and they had nothing that I needed so I put the chew toy back on the shelf and left without buying anything. My wife and I agreed (translation: my wife decided) that the kids would each get a fish bowl rather than an aquarium, because who wants to have a satisfying, attractive display for their fish? We started at Petsmart, as we always do. They generally have healthy fish and reasonable prices on livestock and supplies. The kids found fish they liked, but the bowls were too small and the decor was all pretty pricey. I was going to order something online, until, on the way home, we drove by Pet Supplies Plus. I hadn't been in there since it stopped being the overpriced Pet Extreme. The kids was wanted to stop and look, so we did. I was immediately struck by the contrast between the old Pet Extreme and the new Pet Supplies Plus. We were greeted and offered help upon entering the store. The store was clean and well organized. Our first stop was the fish room. It has decreased slightly in size, but the quality of fish has improved dramatically. They have a very good selection and the fish were all very healthy and active. We went over to the fish supplies and my kids loved the selection. They had larger bowls and a great assortment of decor. My wallet was even happier than the kids, as the prices for these items were noticeably less than I generally pay. We ended up leaving with two complete fish bowl setups. From walk-in to checkout, we had a great experience. Friendly staff, clean and organized store, great selection and great prices.
