I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place. I live in Tower District so I have to drive all the way here just so my boys can go shopping for toys, treats and get my Dude's nail clipped by Otis of course. We come every time my boy needs a manicure. The staff are always friendly and Otis does a wonderful job with Dude's nails. My boys love the rainbow Sherpa man toy from here, but it is originally $8.98 and I always wait for it to go half off so I can get 2. My boys, Dude & Saint always come here for birthday cupcakes, toys & treats. I always walk out of here with more than I plan to spend because why not. I bought my 10 year old terrier his 10th birthday cupcake, 3 toys and a bag of dry liver for his gifts. I've been trying to celebrate him everyday. Super clean and organize they have a major selection for dogs. I only looked at the dog stuff but they have other animal supplies. 0K, so I mostly only come here to shower my puppy. They do not have shower brushes but who wants to share brushes? Anyhow, shower tubs are always clean and they offer a variety of shampoos. Water is warm and dryers are so easy to use. For my Frenchie I pay $14 which includes access to self serve showers and two towels. They have so many cute clothes, I always walk out with something new. You do have to sign up to for the reward program to receive the discounts, but IMO the discounts would be a regular price because everything is over priced. None the less I will keep coming back and wasting my money here. read more

I know it's just a pet shop, but this place was awesome. The first thing I noticed is how clean and organized everything was, plus it's huge! On the right side of the store is all cat items. Wet and dry food, cat toys, scratching posts, litter, supplies, pretty much anything you need to take care of your feline friend. The other side of the shop is the same thing, but all for dogs. The dogs section is a little bigger and has an onsite dog groomer as well. They also sell unique pets here. During my visit I watched a family purchase a tarantula and another family shopping for chameleons. There's also a massive fish tank right in the middle of the store. My son would love to have a chameleon, lizard, or frog, but sorry dude, not happening in our house. I love that you get to wash your dogs here. But my biggest problem is I have two small dogs, collectively they weigh 19.87 lbs. They're are small, we use less water, less shampoo and less towels. BUT I GET CHARGED PER DOG. Makes no sense, when you're charging the same price for dogs that are over 30+ pounds. Bigger dogs obviously require more product, more water, more time there. Be careful with delivery orders - they use UberEats as the actual delivery service and they mess up at least 50% of the time (this last order we have no idea where it was delivered to as we cannot identify the 'delivery photo' and they ignored the instructions completely). And the fact that you order delivery through their website but if you have problems with the order/delivery you MUST call the local store. However - calling the store to correct this was a treat. Big Props to ZENA who handled my problem with pose and grace and took care of it completely. I received replacement items within a few hours of my initial phone call. WOW! Where do I even start!! I LOVE the dog wash station they have I came for the first time today with my HUGE German shepherd and it was honestly such a breeze! I didn't have to bring anything besides my dog which helps so much since my hands are already full with my dog. I was really worried since my dog is a little skittish sometimes but she did really good since they have to 6 wash stations and you have a gate and a small collar that's connected to the wash station and it's really clean not dirty at all! prices here are better than petsmart & petco for many things but it was a little unbearable to be in this store. previous reviews mentioned it smelled of urine in some sections but i thought maybe it'd be gone now since those reviews were a little while ago. We stopped in for the first time a week or so ago, as the store at Blackstone and Barstow has closed. We like a certain brand of dry dog food available there that's grain free and has taurine (for heart health). It's called Redford Naturals. Many flavors to choose from. Supply wise this store is great! They carry everything I need for my babies (dogs and fish). I love that they are open late and have great customer service. My only issue is the entire store reeks of urine. They had a fan right next to the fish area and it felt like it was pushing the urine scent directly towards me. This place has been several different pet stores since the early 2000's. Pets Supplies Plus is just as good as any pet store out there. I came here because I heard they had self service dog wash stations and I needed to wash my puppy in an easier way than in my home tub. If going for that service, remember to ask for several towels if your pup is large breed. They do have a high velocity air blower but my pup noped out of that pretty quick. The store itself is clean and well stocked. They will price match online or retail store prices. Bonus: they have a dog treat bakery, like the donut shelves with specialty dog treats for birthday, adoption day, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. read more

We have been buying and coming here for almost two years now for our pet. Usually things are nice here even though last year there was a rat that was running around free that I thought was gross as staff laughed and said ya we get stray rats. But usually things are good here but today was different. I was in a few weeks ago as we are trying to trouble shoot a different dog food for our dogs new allergy and asked a male worker for advice on a good brand. Stella and Chewy fish flavor. He let me know about the dog food and we bought it. Fast forward to now being a few weeks later and we came to buy more as it worked for our dog as he likes it and no effects. I noticed they were out of the small bag but had a 25 pound bag of it. Asking the two girls at the front and they said oh we do not carry that smaller brand as I showed them a picture of the bag I bought in May. I informed them I was here a few weeks ago and a male worker helped me. They still said no we don't carry it and called a male worker over, just so happened to be the manager and the guy that helped me when I came the end of May. I showed him the picture and said you helped me a few weeks ago and I'm back to buy more. He said we only carry the 25 pound bag . I said I was in a few weeks ago and he said are you sure it was a few weeks, maybe it was a few months because we did re ordering etc...I said yes it was a few weeks ago as you helped me find this dog food and recommended it. I then called my husband and had him send me a picture of the receipt and sure enough I was in a couple weeks ago may 20th. 6 weeks to be exact. I showed the staff and he said they could order it and have it next week........The issue here is there was no apology for them being absolutely wrong and them making me feel dumb when I did indeed buy it there and a few weeks ago and now had a receipt to show proof. But there was no apology or anything. I appreciate them ordering it now but looking back, was he trying to sell it to me since he knew they weren't going to carry it anymore? I just think it was rude for those two ladies and male manager to handle that situation like that and questioning me and not believing that I did buy it there a few weeks ago until I showed literal proof. I love Pet Supplies Plus specifically because they have an indoor dog washing station. I originally purchased a dog wash stamp card which gets you multiple washes and is super convenient to walk to the back and start your wash. However there are normally 3 tubs for customers to use and the last two times I've come to wash only one is operable. The other two are completely broken down like they are being remodeled but I haven't seen any additional repairs between the first and second time I came. Pretty sure its been months. This just causes a back up at the dog wash area and you could be stuck waiting in line for multiple dogs to be washed before you. Of course that means a dirty tub when you get there and you're being rushed because they people behind you are watching again I love this spot but man y'all need to fix those tubs. Waiting an hour or two to use a dog wash kind of puts a damper on your plans for the day. read more
