There is ample parking as it is in a large shopping center with HEB, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that there is no green space nearby to walk the dogs. I've been shopping at this location for years and have never had a negative experience. They have a great selection and good prices, but most importantly amazing staff. They are always so friendly and helpful. They've asked me if there's anything I couldn't find that they could look into carrying. Today, I was on my way home with my kitten but couldn't leave her in the car obviously, so I brought her in with me. I just needed some cat litter. An employee asked me if I needed any help finding anything, quickly offered to carry the heavy litter up to the checkout for me, then also offered to carry it out to my car since I was holding my cat carrier. Really great and knowledgeable staff, plus they were friendly and di not act as if me being there was interrupting their day. I got a few fish and the guy offered to special order some and was 100% honest when he told me it would be January before they would be available. It is rare to find people honest and helpful these days and I really appreciate the sincerity of the staff. The fish I did get are doing great too! They also have a rewards program & if you buy 10 bags of food you get the 11th bag free. You are given a card & each time you go in just have the cashier sign your card. They also are always putting things on clearance, which of course I love! It was only about $30 for a punch card for the self-serve dog wash, which is a steal, and we're excited to come back to use the rest of the punches! There was only a short wait, and they have absolutely everything you need for a good doggo wash experience-- including a high-velocity dryer which is a must as any double-coated dog owner knows! They also have a great selection of dog treats for post-wash, which is always a plus. We'll be back to use the rest of our punches and we're glad to have this place close by! read more

Alarming disregard for animal welfare! A green cheek conure "on hold" is being kept in a cage on the floor at the entrance. Every time the automatic doors open, this poor little bird is in the draft zone of a 44 degree wind. I asked Amanda, the manager, if she would consider moving the conure to a warmer, less dangerously drafty location. She advised me that it is an $800 bird so they have it where they can "keep an eye on it." I'm appalled at this callus response that clearly prioritizes product placement over animal welfare. I also feel terrible for the future owner, coming to pick up their new pet whose health is now compromised. Edit: See response below from store owner. Nice job covering your tracks but there was NO sheet and no interest in disclosing a concern for the birds at the time I expressed the problem. It was late afternoon and it had been cold all day. No sheet in sight. And you did not verbalize any intent to relocate out of the drafty area. Folks, make your own choices, but I will no longer be frequenting this store. Passed by this place a few times and decided to stop in and check it out. Wow! The store is not big from the outside but when you go in - it''s a fur-baby paradise!!! So much to look at and such a variety of product for all types of animals. I have 2 lil fur baby dogs that are very spoiled and I am happy that there is a place near my home that I can find everything I need for them. While there are great deals here, clearly oversight is missing. I went today for the first time and purchased a treat dispensing toy for my eight-month-old puppy that came with sweet potato treats. After coming home and giving her a few in the treat dispenser, I saw that there were multiple treats in the bag that were covered in mold. This is a massive health hazard, and while my puppy isn't currently sick, I am (obviously) extremely concerned that something could happen. I've worked in retail before, and the store I worked in had perishable products, so we were incredibly mindful of whether or not items were still good to protect our customers. This is a shocking show of carelessness and I am likely never visiting this location again. This, paired with the associates who clearly don't really care about customer service or the quality of their products has disappointed me. I have contacted both Pet Supplies Plus and the company who produced the toy (Occupi by Petstages) privately, but this is something consumers need to be aware of. read more

Pet Supplies Plus is a chain, but each store is "independently owned and operated" which can be good and bad. The good is that you can join the national loyalty program and get some great specials, including coupons and exclusive deals, which are available across the chain. The bad is that stores aren't consistent in stock, design, cleanliness, etc. This store is very clean, has a decent variety of national brands, and always seem to have listed sale items in stock. It's not very big, so it feels like a small pet store. By comparison, the previous store I frequented was like a warehouse, not very clean, felt like a discount store, but had a much larger variety and more clearance items. What stands out at this store are the employees. SUPER friendly. Cheery hello when you walk in and they approach you to ask if you need help finding anything. (Maybe it's because I like meandering through the aisles, comparing prices and taking a long time selecting items. They may think I am dense or stealing. Ha) As far as cat products, their selection of wet and dry food and litter is decent. Not a wide variety of toys, beds and other accessories. Consequently, my go-to place for mostly necessities. Located in a busy HEB shopping center, there is a big parking lot, but it's always challenging to find a spot. read more

I don't typically write reviews but here goes: This store has certainly gone downhill in the last few months! While once a pleasant store to enter, it now appears cluttered and uninviting. Aisles are not well lit and the ambience is dark. It seems a bit like shopping in a warehouse now. The worst offense, in my opinion, is that small animals are in individual cages sitting on the floor near the front door and are exposed to drafts from the opening and closing doors and are easily approached by large and small dogs alike that are shopping with their owners. The cage openings are easily accessible to anyone who chooses to open them. I feel terrible for these small animals (ferrets, guinea pigs, etc.) who stress easily and are terrified each time a larger animal approaches thecages and takes great interest in them (barking, sniffing, pawing) until the owner pulls them away. In my opinion, the people that manage the store seem to have little regard for these animals. I discussed my concerns with one of the cashiers who was friendly but said that it was management's decision to have the animals there. As long as people support this practice at the store, the less likely it will ever change. I am moving on to Petsmart and Petco where the weekends are filled with animals who need homes and so much support is given to animals in need through Petsmart Charities and the Petco Foundation. I hope people reading this will consider doing the same. read more

After 3 gallons of bleach and muriatic acid, I tried Nature's Miracle ($35/gallon) Advanced Formula per the suggestion of the sales rep. I can not tell you how big a difference this stuff made!! I can't believe I haven't been here sooner. Dog Mom over here has been buying all her pet supplies and dog food at a bougey boutique-style pet store. Well not anymore! Thank you, Dog Supplies Plus for being positively excellent. The expensive brand of food my two knuckleheads eat is regularly less expensive than the few other places who carry it... even cheaper if you're one of their members. They have a huge selection of pet food and treats to choose from, and even a bulk treat section (My favorite part!!) They have a self-serve dog wash station with two basins and they supply everything you may need to groom your pup. 10$/wash or 5/25 if you're a member. Toys of every sort, even something for pups that can chew through anything in 5 seconds flat. Their staff is TOPS. They answered all my queations, helped me get all set up and even honored my husband's military discount even though he wasn't with me. And.. While I certainly appreciate such a nice pet store within walking distance, my most recent visit will likely discourage me from ever stepping foot inside again. As soon as the sliding doors opened, a young woman was literally shrieking at the top of her lungs HI WELCOME THANK YOU FOR COMING TO PET SUPPLIES PLUS! I said hi and continued walking,LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANYTHING!!!! At that point I thought the social harassment was over but before I knew it I was weaving in and out of people at tables obviously trying to peddle me some shit I didn't need. Fortunately I am a master of eye contact aversion so I made it to the dog collar aisle and made my choice. As I was standing in line, I realized that this place has one of those stupid email reward programs (they harass you with emails as well) and I would have to spend even more of my precious energy on garbage conversation. I decided to just try and make it through when a man walked up to the customer ahead of me and began: 'Oh hi, just while you're checking out I wanted to tell you about....'
