This store is always busy, and getting busier every time I go. But the staff is always very polite, and willing to go above and beyond to help. And the manager is the nicest Pet store manager I have ever dealt with. When I got out of high school I worked at a pet shop for two years, so I know it is a high demand, and very low pay job. So the majority of people that work there, is usually a labor of love. I have seen some customers get frustrated with some of the staff. And I could see that they,(the customer) was just unaware of the fact that the staff is always super busy trying to help someone, and then help the next one. They are doing their best under increasingly busier and busier Conditions. But every worker that has ever helped me was polite, and not only did their job. But did everything they to could help me. And answer my questions. I mostly go for live crickets. That are usually delivered on Tuesday. And they usually run out between Thursday and Saturday before the next delivery. But I've been there for everything from aquarium supplies for my fish, items for my chickens, and items for my cat. They have a very good selection. And good variety. Better than most pet stores, that only carry cat and dog food. read more

I am absolutely livid right now. I have always had positive experiences at this location--especially when Jennifer worked here. I respected her work ethic so much that I eventually hired her at the company I work for. That should tell you the level of service I've been used to from this store. Tonight was completely unacceptable. After a long day of work and while preparing to travel out of town, I rushed to this store to buy dog food because I have to board my dog early tomorrow morning before flying to New York. The store closes at 8:00 PM. I arrived at 7:56 PM, along with two other customers who pulled up at the exact same time. I jumped out of my car and walked straight to the door--only to have the clerk lock the door when he saw me pull up and completely ignore me, even as I clearly stated that the store was still open and I had three minutes. The other customers left. I stayed until the 3 employee exited the store and told him directly that what he did was a complete sucker move and that I would be writing a review and contacting corporate in the morning. His response? He challenged me and said, "Go right ahead." He then added that "he has a life," which is why he closed early. That response alone tells me everything I need to know. If a store closes at 8:00 PM, and paying customers arrive before that time, common sense--and company policy--would suggest you serve them. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was asking to be allowed to shop during posted business hours. For context: I own a Cane Corso. The food I buy costs $107 per bag, and I am in this store every single week. That ends today. Going forward, I will be purchasing my dog's food from Amazon. This was my go-to store for my beloved Stoney Bear ten years ago. Unfortunately, I made a huge mistake and moved out of state. I started ordering from Chewy and found that to be a better option for my hips as I am not supposed to lift heavy things. There is a reason this particular store has 2 stars. It's because of the WOMAN MANAGER. If I could leave a negative review, I would. I stopped going to this store for two reasons (even though it's literally 2 minutes from my house). 1) Very limited selection 2) The woman manager is a disgustingly unprofessional human being Almost every single time I went in there, this manager was rude to customers. You know, they people who pay her salary. She was never rude to me because luckily I never had to interact with her - minus the time I told her a bird was dying in an enclosure and she did absolutely nothing about it...and when I check the bird a few minutes later, it was dead. The only reason this store has any business is because the closest chain pet store is 15 miles away. I went to PetSmart in Brandon today (the chain 15 miles away) to get items I needed, and I gladly spent $150. Unfortunately they did not have the kitten food I needed, so dreadfully I had to stop into Pet Supermarket on my way home. I walk up to the store and there was a young employee bringing in carts. As I passed him, I said hello. He didn't respond (which is fine because he's was a kid). I proceed into the store and go left towards the cat aisles. I hear someone saying "ma'am" a few times. No "excuse me ma'am" or anything polite in the slightest. I turn around and the kid was speaking to me. He literally said "go get hand sanitizer". No please, no thank you. I get the sanitizer. He goes off towards the registers and I continue onward down an aisle by myself - no customers or employees in sight and mumble something under my breath as I'm turning the corner. I almost bumped into an employee, named Cayanne (another young kid) who was sitting on the ground stocking shelves. I pass her and go to the cat food. I'm looking on the shelves and she said to me "is there something you wanted to say to me?" I said "oh no, I was just mumbling under my breath, talking to myself." Meanwhile I'm thinking if this was my employee, she would have a nice talking to about not being confrontational to the people who give her a paycheck. She leaves the aisle. I'm looking around, reading ingredients and hear someone literally right in my ear say "is there something you wanted to say to me?" I turn around and it's the most unprofessional human on the planet - the woman Manager. I said "if I had a question, I would've asked you." She said "well you said something about my employee, so why don't you say it to me." I proceed with "first of all, how do you know what I was mumbling to myself had anything to do with your employee, and you are very unprofessional for coming up behind me to get in my face." She tried to continue to argue with me so I turned around and grabbed the food I needed. She decides to walk along side me and I say "I will be contacting corporate for your disgusting behavior". She said "make sure to tell them what you said about my employee." I said "why don't you do that since you seem to know more than I do." We live in a world where I can talk to myself whenever I want, can mumble to myself whenever I want, and don't have to have some angry ass woman try to start a fight with me over something I MUMBLED TO MYSELF. She is lucky this didn't occur outside of the store. Very lucky. I wasn't shocked by this disgusting woman doing this, as I heard her tell an older couple who was adopting a cat (they didn't have a carrier) that it was "common sense to bring your own carrier". I almost chewed her ass out that day for that disgusting remark to those customers, but decided that was the day I would never return unless absolutely necessary. This is a serious lack of professionalism and it is disgusting Pet Supermarket would even hire such a scumbag - especially put her in a management position. And now she's training her little kid employees to be disgusting too. She needs to get fired and get a reality check. If I could leave zero stars I would leave -3. My four-year-old and I went to get two Betas and was pleasantly assisted by Courtnee. Left the store happy. Woke up the next day both fishies were dead. Upon trying to switch the fishies Jen who was extremely rude and snappy and even though I was standing less than three feet away from her sent her employee back to me to tell me to keep my dead fishies. Came here to get a betta fish. I have worked in the aquarium industry for more than ten years and used to wholesale bettas,as well as worked for some of the world's largest aquarium, marine and freshwater wholesalers. I usually have my bettas shipped from Thailand, but lately with the way the postal service has been working I didnt want to chance a dead fish arriving weeks after it was ordered. I dont mind some muttly fish as long as they are healthy and beautiful. I get to the betta section and am not too impressed. The waters are cloudy and there are a lot of fish with clamped fins and bacterial infections. The cups were a good size so they get points for that. There were 2 beautiful bettas. 1 was a koi plakat, the other looked like a giant red full moon tail with green dragon scale flecks. (labeled as a koi halfmoon and with half of his tail rotted from bacterial infection for 54.99) The koi plakat had a label on his cup that said "dumbo koi". Dumbo bettas have the most beautiful long flowing pectoral fins. They are giant and definatly the first thing you notice about a dumbo betta. They are gorgeous!!! This betta had regular fins which is why I say it is a koi plakat. He had a bit of a kink in his back, but I figure that's not a deal breaker as all of his fins are intact and he looks otherwise healthy, just slightly deformed. I look for the "dumbo koi" label but there is not one there. I point out to an employee that he is not a dumbo, but the girl says that he was sent from the supplier as a dumbo koi so that's what he will be sold as. I figure well, that's fine but want to know the price of the "dumbo koi". I ask the girl working where the price for the dumbo koi is? she points at a tag that says "halfmoon koi betta $54.99." I tell her that this fish has a label on his cup that says dumbo koi, and the price she is showing me is for a halfmoon koi. She goes to get somebody else. This associate tells me that the price for the "dumbo koi" is the label for the"halfmoon koi". And again states that since that is the way it was sent from their supplier then that is the price. She abruptly ends the conversation by asking if I need help with anything else and walks away. I will pay for a nice betta. I have paid a lot more for bettas and other fish before. This is not new to me. But what I will not do is pay the price for a fish that clearly is not the fish I am looking at. I was even willing to pay the price for a Dumbo Koi even though he is a koi plakat which were priced at $15.99. But I am not ok with paying the price of a halfmoon koi betta when this fish is clearly labeled as a dumbo koi as was stated to me twice. I get it. The wholesaler charged them a price for the bettas and they need to make their money back. But arguing that he was shipped as a dumbo then trying to charge me the price of a halfmoon koi and refusing to listen to what I am trying to say is a no go. I will take my business elsewhere to somebody who at least has enough common sense to not display and try to sell sick fish for outrageous prices. If these people are wanting to have a good betta variety then they need to actually know something about the fish they are selling, how to properly identify them and how to properly care for them and identify fish illness. They should probably get a new wholesaler as well if the wholesalers are trying to pass off sick fin rotted fish as something more expensive than they are. I can guarantee you I can get a much nicer healthy fish of the same variety for much less elsewhere. Best to stay away from here if you like fish. read more

This specific location does not take care of their pets. I am honestly disgusted over their treatment of some of their animals. I went into the store recently to buy some gear for my hermit crabs. I noticed that this location also sold crabs, so I went over to the glass to check them out. The tank was littered with dead hermit crabs. And they were in plain sight. It looked like there were multiple territorial disputes over shells and crabs were ripped out of their original shell. There were multiple upturned shells with dead crabs hanging out of them. It looked like the crabs were forgotten about and left to die. The corpses of the dead crabs were just left in this tank for the other crabs to climb over and eat. If you are looking for a hermit crab, don't buy from them here. The crabs are probably already sick from potentially eating other crabs, the conditions of the tank are worse than a frat house bathroom, and the crabs are extremely stressed. I really wish I could give this location zero stars. I understand that hermit crabs are by no means popular pets or the "main attraction" of the store, but their treatment says a lot about the attitudes that this location has towards their animals. read more

I am giving four stars because I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable helpful and polite. I've been going there for my dogs needs only for about 6 months but I've usually been helped a lot in choosing the right foods and the tall black gentleman (I wish I knew his name) has always been really helpful in pointing out good savings and honesty regarding dog food, toys, etc. I've never gone there for a grooming but honestly after reading the reviews, I'm not sure I want to take my puppy there for her first cut. read more

DON'T shop at this pet store. I went in and bought an item last night for 12.51 cents. Checked my bank account this morning and found that they double charged my account. Went to the stpre to get the second charges to my account reversed. Spoke to the manager and showed her the double charge to my account. She told methat she couldnt reverse the second charge that I had to contact pet supermakets headquarter to get it straightened out.What this tells me is this is not a uncommon happening at this store. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO BE GROOMED. I had the worst experience here with my poodles. They botched the grooming on both my dogs and I had to come back to get it somewhat fixed. I was not compensated for the terrible job. I was so embarrassed and everyone noticed the terrible job. They were understaffed and the lady who serviced my dogs was visibly irritated. She wasn't friendly or welcoming. Her attitude changed when I called back to let her know she did a terrible job and when I went to get my dogs hair fixed. She started being nice. I understand grooming can be stressful and she was behind but I am a paying customer. I tip very well and I know she is tired and wanted to go home. There was not excuse as to how my dogs left. I didn't pay attention to it because I dropped them off at 11 and they still weren't done by 5:30pm. I will not recommend this place at all. Today I visited Pet Supermarket for some fish supplies and to get a frozen rat for my ball python. I have been going here for years and always am happy to know that it is clean especially during COVID-19. Jocelyn asked me if I needed any help which I did because I did not see any rats in the freezer. She told me they had ran out and were going to order more so I asked her if they had live rats. She told me right now they did not have any rats or mice live because the supplier did not have any to sell but she told me to call back to see if they got some in. I thanked her for her help and went to look at dog treats. I have 2 large dogs and one with a sensitive stomach. Jennifer came up to me and asked me if I needed anything. I told her about my dog with the sensitive stomach and she helped me pick out some of the nutro crunchy treats with blue berry. She said she has had good success with other dogs eating them so I went ahead and picked them out. It was nice that she stopped what she was doing even though she is the manager of the store to help me. Everyone was happy and smiling. I will definitely be back anytime I need something. read more

They aren't honest about their VIP program for dog food. We were told that you could purchase any size bag of dog food and whatever size you wanted you'd get a free bag. After two years shopping there finally get the voucher. It was for the smallest bag of dog food they sell 2lbs. I purchased the 2 lb bag because I couldn't lift it, because I was in so much pain. I ended up in the er. I had been purchasing the 10 lb bags prior to this occasion. I understand that it's a nice service they offer, and its a privilege to get. What I don't appreciate the lack of honestly and transparency with the store! They don't even deserve one star. I would give the new grooming company at the Pet supermarket in Sun City zero stars if I could. The groomer rescheduled me multiple times after having an appointment made a month ago. A week before my appointment the called to verify her rabies shots. I unfortunately lost the paper work due to me moving and they said they will call the vet and verify for me. The day of the appointment I called to make sure everything was good and the guy I spoke with said they never called to verify the shot and they could not groom my dog. Needless to say I was very upset my dog looks a mess and need a hair cut. Mind you they cut her hair a month before that now its a huge issue. I ask what am I suppose because you guys never called and the groomer said nothing they could do. No empathy for the mistakes or giving me the run around. Really torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars. Really helpful, skinny young lady with dark brown hair and pro looking eye makeup was awesome. But there was a petite blond who looked like the manager who was a bit too flippant about the fact that a tiny little bird had escaped his cage and was flying around the store at some times and eating the bird seed on the floor on other times. She casually said "Oh we know. We cant catch him" and continued to walk briskly by. Later in saw her on the phone at the checkout desk and was giving a lot of attitude to whomever was on the other end of the line. I was in retail most of my life so these things stand out to me. My husband and I were very upset at the condition one of the small rabbits was in. He/she was a white albino bunny and he was lustness, his eyes looked wet as if he felt bad and he was sneezing. A bunny with a cold needs medication and should not be with the other healthy bunnies in a small enclosure all day. We felt so bad we almost bought it just so we could take it to a vet. I really hope someone sees this review and does something about it. read more
