I recently bought two ferrets which altogether costed me about $800 I took them to the vet to find out that one of them had fleas and ear mites and coccidia, which is worms and the second one I took to find out he also had ear mites and worms. Very upset that I could not get any kind of refund or help covering the bills when they got the sickness from the petstore. I was told I could return him but not after I have spent $400 on vet bills! Wow. I stopped by to see if I can find some aquatic plants. When I walked in, the store is immaculate. Sections are well organized. Birds were kept in an enclosure that's little too small for its numbers. Fish section was a mix. Compared to many places, the tanks that fish are kept seems well cleaned. I see many dead fish, and many of them are mislabeled. Betta section was an absolute nightmare. Some containers had plenty of water in it even its way too small. Some containers had just enough water for the Betta to be sitting at the bottom of the container. read more

My son loves to go to pet stores, I usually don't. They are always so big and have too many animals crammed into small spaces- waiting for someone to love them. Depressing; however, this pet store is not depressing. It is medium sized, clean, less sad animals waiting to be loved, and friendly staff. We came to look at hamsters, gerbils, bunnies, anything a 10 year old can hold and fantasize about owning. The fish tanks are immaculately clean, WOW. The tanks that the little fuzzy animals are in are clean and have an ample amount of toys. These animals didn't make me sad- well, there were a few tiny containers with fish swimming in circles waiting for someone to love them and those made me a little sad. The workers were very nice. One young lady was so accommodating and any animal that my son wanted to hold she would catch it and let him hold it. She imparted knowledge about the animals and talked about when she had a gerbil or some other animal. You could tell that she loved animals. The guy at the checkout was so friendly and funny, he didn't seem mad that he was working on a Friday night. They have an excellent variety of bunny paraphernalia. Great bunny homes, toys, chew toys, and snacks. They have some delicious looking treats (a bakery display of dog treats) at the check out counter. Basically, if you need to go to a pet store, this one is really good and they have a lot of stuff without being too big. They had a good selection of pet clothing. read more

West End Avenue turns into Harding Road which turns into Harding Pike which turns into Highway 100, which led me to this place. Came here a couple days ago after I dropped Chloe off to the sitters. This place had really cool and exotic birds and I found a bunch of things for Chloe. They had the perfect dog bed and some grooming tools that I was looking for. They also introduced me to "California Natural" dog food for small breeds. Its much healthier and apparently Chloe goes to the bathroom less often and her stool looks healthier (not like diarrhea). You can also get California Natural at Hollistic Pet if thats closer to you... They are very friendly and have a lot of supplies and variety for a small shop. They also have really cute cats for adoption that are dying to be loved. Go visit it! Quick note: all their dog food is very healthy and much better than the dog food options in other local pet shops. If you're feeding your dog Hills' science diet, Pedigree, Purina, Alpo, or Beneful.... come visit this store and switch to something better. It will add years to your baby's life and the food price's are comparable to whatever you're paying now. Pet Supermarket is on Hwy 100 on the way to Fairview. I guess it is technically Bellevue where it is located. Anyway, there's a great strip mall there with a Corner Pub, Publix, tanning salons, etc. I usually stop in here on my way back through from Fairview to Green Hills. They have all sorts of things for cats, dogs, birds, rodents, rabbits, whatever you have as a pet. Not only that, today they had some actual animals in there for adoption (loud ass birds and one rabbit were all I saw). They have some fun toys for my kitty and also now carry Evo food. You can also bring your furry friend in the store if you want. And don't forget to get the rewards card and use it when you shop. Don't know what you get exactly, but use it anyway! The best part about this store are the kiddos that are always working in there. They are always in a good mood and always helpful and always chatty. I mean, people should take lessons on how to have a proper work attitude from these people. Love it! read more

This is a nice little pet store. They carry a wide variety of dog and cat food for all breeds. They have a huge area for dog treats and toys. The cat area is pretty big as well. The staff is always nice and eager to help customers. The store is kept clean and tidy. This is my go to pet store because I know they'll most likely have what I'm looking for and it's on my way home from work. They aren't over-priced either. The location is conveniently located next to Publix, so if you need to pick up some groceries in the same trip, you don't have to move your car. read more

I've said it once, and I'll say it again, if I could give this place zero stars, I would. I have spent hundreds of dollars on their fish and fish products, and let me tell you, I am utterly disappointed. They keep their fish in a fashion that is borderline abusive. Multiple species of tropical fish are kept in one single tank, which isn't necessarily awful, as it seems that they have done a fairly good job keeping the tank arrangements safe, fish compatability wise, however, these tanks are horribly overstocked. I have seen multiple dead fish, as well as one skeleton, in more than one of their tanks. It is painfully obvious that these fish are not in good condition. This new overstocked tank arrangement has been around for at least a month, I first noticed these deplorable conditions while browsing the store in May, this is when I noticed that they were housing blood parrot cichlids and tiger oscars together. I figured this arrangement may be temporary, because the store had been rearranged. However, this was not the case. Recently I have been visiting the pet supermarket quite frequently, because I have decided to start a community tank. Upon fish selection, it was obvious that the employees had limited knowledge of the fish. I had purchased one female and one male guppy to go with the two females that I already had in the guppy tank. Right off the bat, the recently purchased female was showing signs of illness, so I quickly quarantined her and purchased another female. The new female was showing the same signs, she didn't last more than 3 days without dying. I had also purchased a pair of pineapple swordtails, who I kept in a tank with the three hatchetfish that I purchased. The female swordtail died in a matter of days, after replacing her, the male died. This morning I woke up to find that my favorite fish, Julius, a hatchetfish, had died as well. My tank conditions are great, and I had thought the hatchetfish were acclimating quite nicely to the new environment. But this wasn't the case, these fish are dropping like flies. On a side note, I would like to mention that recently, they have been keeping puppies outside of their store. (like I said, I have visited this place at least once a day this past week) The puppies seemed fine, and the water bowl was rarely empty. However, one day, i noticed a lady drive by, and from the front seat of her car, with her window rolled down, she began questioning the well-being of the dogs, because it was an excruciatingly hot day. One of the employees quickly came outside, and she replied, stating that "the dogs have been inside all day, and she just put them outside for some fresh air." I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but I must say that out of all of the times that I have visited this store in the past week, those puppies have never been inside. I am very disappointed in the professionalism that these employees display, and I am disgusted by the treatment of their livestock. read more
