Things are not going well. After Travis the store manager left things are just not the same. The bathrooms are dirty every time I use them when I'm shopping at the store. The new store manager talk to people very rough but not sure he see it specially on the phone and come across RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. We really like this Petsmart. Always a good selection, great service from some of them. But now my biggest beef is prices are getting out of hand. Our dog food of choice four years ago was $49 for 50 pounds. Over the last three years we've seen the price rise up to 100 dollars for less product. Today, same dog food brand is $90 for 30 pound bag. Same sized bag, just less in it. Know this is a bigger issue, but enough is enough. I change the diet of my dogs for more organic so will not be using Petsmart anymore. read more

Today I brought my 18-year-old Pomeranian to the groomer, and what happened was unacceptable, unprofessional, and honestly heartbreaking. My dog is extremely small, fragile, and senior, so she requires gentle handling and extra caution. Instead, she was put in harm's way by her groomer, Ronnie F. Ronnie called me to say that my dog had "slipped out of the leash" and fallen to the floor, hitting her hip. She delivered this news without any apology, without urgency, and without the slightest concern for my dog's well-being. Her tone was cold and dismissive, as if she was inconvenienced by the accident not responsible for it. A groomer's FIRST responsibility is to ensure the animal is properly secured before picking up any tools. Especially with an elderly dog, safety should be the top priority. The fact that my dog fell at all shows clear negligence. But what disturbed me even more was the groomer's attitude afterward. When I arrived, Ronnie continued speaking to me with a nonchalant, irritated tone--like she was the victim in the situation instead of the person who caused it. She still never apologized. Instead, she raised her voice, said she "needed to go to the back," and walked away as if she could not be bothered with the very real possibility that she had injured a senior dog. I was polite to her the entire time, yet she acted as if she was being attacked, even though all I wanted was an explanation and reassurance that my dog was okay. My aunt asked how a secured dog could fall, and Ronnie's response was, "When they're this old, it could happen." That statement alone shows a complete lack of accountability. Age is not an excuse for negligence. What happened today makes me seriously question how many other animals have been treated this way. Mistakes may happen, but a lack of empathy, a lack of responsibility, and a complete failure to show basic professionalism is unacceptable especially in a job that involves vulnerable pets. My dog could have been seriously injured, and instead of compassion, we were met with attitude. That is not the kind of person who should be working with animals. read more

Whatever you do not go get grooming services at the petsmart in Madison, TN. They caused ulcers in both of his corneas in his eyes. What caused this was he obtained the heat application to his corneas from the blow dryer from his grooming and or hair sticking to his corneas during his grooming. This all occurred on 06/06/2025. 2201 Gallatin Pike N, Madison, TN 37115 is their address and would highly not recommend going here to get grooming services done for your dog. This caused an extreme Vet bill and emotional distress to us and also our little boy. read more

Abhorrent. Absolutely atrocious. They shaved down my double coated dog. A husky. I am FUMING. We usually take our dog to a different petsmart for grooming and they do a great job. We get the same package every time including a custom cut so they will trim her paw pads and hygiene. Never had to specify before not to shave her because it is common sense to not shave a double coated dog. They asked my husband when he dropped her off what guard they should use. Weird question for a sanitary trim, but he picked one. THEY SHAVED HER WHOLE BODY WITH IT. He doesnt do confrontation, so he went in. They weren't done, but the damage was. He saw her and came out to tell me. I went in and asked them what groomer would ever shave a double coated dog. They were ALL incredibly rude and disrespectful, including the manager, blaming my husband and saying they just do whatever they're told to by owners. They were not told to do a FULL BODY SHAVE, I'll tell you that. Already filed a complaint with corporate. I am DEVASTATED for my pup. It'll take months for this to grow back in, if it ever does. I did not pay and I'll still say its overpriced, as I just had to order a sweater, cooling shirt, and dog sunblock for her. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

Do not go here for pet grooming. I took my dog and as soon as I got home they called me and told me they could not complete the service because his anal glands were inflamed. When I got there they told me not to bring him back until his eye issue was fixed. (He needs to have his eye removed) I got a same day appointment with my Vet (they are amazing) and they rolled their eyes when I told them what happened. Apparently this is a common issue at PetSmart. The vet gave me a clearance letter, but I will Not be taking my dog back there. Oh, and no anal gland issues. They just didn't want to groom him because he was dirty basically. read more

I can only rate my experience shopping at this store. We have always found PetSmart to be a great place to come and pick up dog items such as leashes, harness, bowls, food, treats, and other items for our dogs. We are from out of town and ran in for some supplies while on our holiday travels. The store was bright and clean and the staff we encountered were very helpful and friendly. We walked around a bit with our dog and noticed the fish tanks and thought that area was very nice. Overall pleasant experience and a great stop along our journey. read more

My dog and I went to training classes when I first adopted him. That was about two years ago, and I felt like we both needed to brush up on our skills. I took Bruce to be evaluated by "Happy," PetSmart's newest pet training instructor, because I didn't know if I should enroll him in the Intermediate or Advanced class. I thought the evaluation would take maybe 5-10 minutes. Happy easily spent 45 minutes, maybe even an hour, working with Bruce, getting to know him, doing a physical evaluation, going over every inch of him, checking for any quirks he might have, and evaluating his current skill set. I was completely blown away by his attention to detail and ability to immediately connect with Bruce, and I (obviously) wanted to enroll in his class immediately. Instead of an Intermediate or Advanced class, he suggested Bruce and I enroll in a Therapy Dog class. After 6 weeks of training, I have a completely different dog. I feel far more connected to him, he is much calmer in social situations, he is more in-tune with, and responsive to, my commands... Happy is the greatest dog trainer I've ever met. So incredibly grateful for his help - we gained a true asset in our community when Happy started training at PetSmart here in Madison. read more

I was in shock when I got home with my dog from the groomers. She was licking her paw continuously. When I checked her, her claw was half cut off. Not just a nick but really cut far back. She was bleeding all over the house. When I called them to tell them what I saw.. the girl just gave me excuses. Told me to put cornstarch or flour on it. I think we go to PetSmart every weekend and spend our paychecks...there is ALWAYS something to get or something you need. Recently we had purchased a 55 gallon fish tank from a private owner, but needed a new top, which we purchased here. We set everything up and then the light (there are 2) on the left went out. we had an extra light bulb, so we switched it out and it still didn't work. we took it back and got a new one. Set the new one up and the SAME thing happened, very odd. This time i spoke with the manager and told him what happened. This was new to him but he said he would exchange it again. He even went a step further and called the company to see if they had any ideas. (there was a few feedback, like drip line and light bulb tightening) but in any case, to take care of us. Unfortunately it happened again, but i started thinking that this was our issue (or a plug issue) so i didn't take it back a final time. we ended up getting one long light that hasn't gone out, so i guess it was the hood, but still appreciate the manager going above and beyond. read more

I've been going, and still have been going to pet smart for 5 years, I've gone to this one three times. PetSmart used to price check with anyone, now, they only price check with chewy. Which is still in effect for all stores. Every time I have gone to this one they tell me they don't do that anymore and claim none of the stores do, but literally every other petsmart does. I simply have to drive a little further, but whoever is managing that store should highly consider looking into that, even mangers at other petsmart say that's not true. read more

Pet Smart has cat food, and my cat likes cat food. They carry Greenies, and that little sonuvabitch loses his mind over Greenies, so that's great too. One complaint I have is that the cats up for adoption are far too cute, so I always have to tell my wife, "No we already have one cat and can't adopt another." Maybe they could put some uglier cats out every once in a while just to mix it up. There are dogs in there sometimes, but I don't like to pet strange dogs because you never know when some little creep of a kid has just pulled his tail and now he's mad. I miss my dog because he was never mad and he didn't have anything but a nub for a tail so kids couldn't pull it. Pet Smart usually does a good job on pricing, and you should sign up for the Pet Perks for additional savings. I have no idea what it does beyond that because the site won't let me log in, and I refuse to call an 800 number for a rewards program for cat food. They're OK, maybe overpriced. We go through a lot of doggie cleanup bag, and they are frequently out of the bags we use. They are good about letting me buy 2 packages of six rolls for the price of one package of 12, though. Every time we've bought an "indestructible" chew-toy, our dogs have said "challenge accepted", and usually destroy any toy in a matter of hours, even the Kong toys. In December, I found their black chew-toy bone, and the dogs haven't been able to kill it yet. read more

I think I've come in to petsmart for two things, litter box and cat collars. AND I ended up having to get a different litter box and different cat collars later anyway. I really think petsmart is one of those places that's worth it if you go when they have sales or you need some sort of obscure thing, they have a huge selection. But I'm not the type of pet lover to pamper my pets and buy them stupid toys and rhinestone collars, when my cats prefer crumpled up balls of paper to fancy feathers and sequins. I have to say I'm sort of shocked by their natural and alternative food section. FYI they are almost always sold of out of flea stuff, especially when they go on sale. read more

I take my two shih-tzus to PetSmart groomers every 2-3 months. I have never had a bad experience! The staff is great to work with and my dogs always get a perfect cut! Appointments are easy to make and the groomers stick to the schedule so that the dogs only stay as long as they need to- i get a follow up sheet giving me information with how the dogs did and any problems that were encountered. The staff at this location are great! They really care about animals. As a rescue partner I can't say enough wonderful things about this store. The staff have helped our rescue find homes for SO many senior and special needs cats. Plus they have the best deals in town for pretty much everything cat or dog related. I've used their grooming a couple of times for foster dogs and both times the groom looked great and the dog seemed perfectly content. read more

Yeah so this place is always hit-or-miss I apparently annoyed an employee today by asking them if they had the prescription cat food I needed in the size I required, which they carry but its rarely in. sometimes they have bags in the back, sometimes they dont. She says "well do we carry it?" and I answer yes. "well is there a space for the bag out there?". um yes. "what we have is out there". doesn't check just on case a bag may be in the back. when I ask when it might come in (having been told lady week it would be here) she says up comes on on Saturday. which is today. I asked if there was a way to know if another store had it in inventory, she said you ll have to call around. .I asked her if she could and the response was well I could stop what I am doing...I'm busy...and call. this was complete with eye roll and heavy sigh with a large dose of attitude. she did manage to call another store. with more sighing and eye rolls. so to the manager....I can have this stuff delivered to my door by other companies which is what will happen from now on. leaving me no reason to walk into your store. you have just lost a customer who has spent a good deal of money there. when I e been in other pet supply stores, their employees have actually volunteered to call other stores. its a concept. read more

Ok.. Let me start by saying , Always go with your gut feeling! I wish I would have.. Walking in you just got that vibe that none of these girls wanted to be there at all! The girl at the register asked for my dogs papers and as she looked at them with a managing glass "cause she wanted to find a reason to stand us out the door " she was not happy when she found my 4 lb dog was up to date on all her shots .. So I hand her over , not feeling great about it . I ask about how long I had an apt. But was about 10 min early , she proceeds to tell me under her breath "something about a meeting and it will probably be 2 hours " I'm back 11\2 later my dog is still in back ( why do they have to bath them behind a wall ??? So we can't see them... My dog was traumatized .. Thirsty don't began to explain how she was drinking water in the way home .. She slept the rest of the day and was withdrawn from us all night .. NEVER AGAIN.. I don't usually write reviews but this whole experience was horrifying , RUDE STAFF ( Act as if your bothering them by patronizing their establishment?? Ok I get it costumers can get in your nerves ... I'm a barber .. I totally get it but.. I'm the same aspect I don't take a client's kid behind a wall to shampoo them and I dang sure don't ROLL MY EYES AND ACT HASSLED BY MY CLIENT'S OR ANYBODY ELSE'S CLIENTS WALK IN FOR APT OR JUST WALK IN PERIOD.. With the 14 day satisfaction guarantee, I brought back 2 guinea pigs of mine that had passed away; One for an exchange and one for a refund. A worker in the store, Sarah, misunderstood that I wanted a refund on the last one, and implied that my family and I weren't properly caring for them. Of course that made me emotional, so after I got my refund, I went out to the car to calm down for a minute. I went back in to get a toy for my dog, and then I glance over, and this worker, and 3 others, one of whom is a manager is trash talking my father and I. So I approached, and she yelled, "Well there she is!" Why in the world would I kill something as sweet as a guinea pig. I have a passion for animals. I have taken care of multiple kinds of animals before, including guinea pigs. So when you say that I am killing them, talk about me in front of customers to other workers, say I don't need animals and just assume the animals I own are in bad condition, that is not how a service job should be. Before this, the place was wonderful, but this had done it for me and my family. Will probably never return, or try my best not to. read more

GROOMING SALON ONLY! I have been coming to this store for years and love, love it. This is only about one experience. My dog had been bathed and had his nails trimmed there many times but today was the last. He acts like he's going to the gallows when he gets a bath but the groomers have always treated him well. Today, not only was he not handled well but he wasn't even clean nor were all his nails trimmed. When I came to pick him up, after 2 hours of not hearing from anyone, his groomer was at a strore register helping check out customers. He proceeded to tell me that my dog was not quite dry and that he was scared of the drier, would not stop moving, and tried to bite him. This was the first time anyone has ever said he tried biting them and the guy didn't have a mark on him. When he brought my dog out he was not a just a bit wet, he was very wet. I believe he stuck him in a cage and just left him there. He smelled awful and couldn't wait to leave. Never again! read more

I have used Pet Smart for over a year and half with the grooming of my great pyrenees. Normally, the groomers are great, Debi and Tiffany I cannot say enough good things about. However, tonight I had an appointment to get my dog groomed with someone new. I got there at 5:30 for the appointment that had been made for a couple of days and was told "Oh, I meant to call you, I cannot groom him tonight"...uh why? Well apparently she had had four other dogs today to groom and had two more to come in after my appointment. But if I really wanted her to, she would do it, but it would be late...Seriously, why not cancel the appointments that had not came in, but cancel me, while I'm there. Oh, I can give you 10 percent off for the next appointment, if you want to reschedule. I told her, no, he really needs to be groomed today, he's hot, and he had went swimming in the lake, so he's dirty.. By this time, there was no way, I was going to leave my dog with her. Let me just say, I get him groomed normally at least every 10 - 12 weeks, so he stays cool and just soft for my grandkids. So I have spend over $1,000 just with grooming if not more, plus the treats when I go there....Well, I have made an appointment with a local groomer here in Hendersonville, and I will not go back to Pet Smart, nor would I recommend anyone to them now, not after tonight. read more
