I have an older dog named Sammie who can be a little set in her ways, but Meg and Nina Marie were so gentle and thoughtful with her. They came every day to feed her, take her on walks, and sent me updates with photos and texts after every visit. I could tell Sammie felt completely safe with them. She waited by the door every day for their arrival (as seen on the Ring camera), which melted my heart. They also helped with little things around the house, like rolling in the trash cans, and I came home to a perfectly clean and calm home. My cat would sometimes be in better spirits when I returned than when I left! Took great care of my dogs, and also handle other request like take the trash out, water plants, collect mail, etc. They usually require 2 copies of a key, which is kinda stupid IMO... if they think they'll lose the key, they should be the ones who are responsible for making a copy. But I got around this by using a combination lock on the gate (so no key required). My dogs were definitely a lot happier when I returned than if they would have been if I had boarded them. I've been using Pet Sit Pros for about 7 months now, as soon as we moved to the area. Jay is as professional, flexible, trustworthy, and ethical as they come. Our cat CJ takes a little getting used to by strangers, and Jay & his staff try their best to warm CJ over - for as much as they could get by with. They're still trying after 7 months. Last month we got a new puppy - Lola - and we're using Jay for our day-walks, and lunch, with Lola while we're away at work. She automatically warmed up to Jay and Fernando. Albeit her disposition is the opposite of CJ's. Anyway we can trust Lola with Jay and his staff. They spent time with her getting to know her, and reviewing the routine with us so that there wouldn't be any beats skipped during her day while we're away. That's important to us, and Jay understands that whole heartedly. Also, the software that Pet Sit Pros uses with scheduling & billing is great. We usually book our reservations well in advance as soon as something pops up on our schedule. However, if something short notice comes along, Jay was very flexible and responsive to confirm visits, and handle the billing. This is so convenient. What an amazing company! We just moved to Long Beach from Atlanta and didn't have anyone we trusted here to watch our dogs for us and we didn't want to leave them in a cage at a kennel. We decided to look around and were were hesitant at first leaving them in our house and having strangers comes over. I went to their website and it was so easy to set up scheduling and pay. I was amazed. I also loved the one on one meet and greet that they do for free to make sure they do everything you expect of them and so you can meet the people watching over the fur babies. Ignorance is bliss with this service... For the past year we'd been satisfied with the service from Pet Sit Pros (PSP). There were a few slip ups by the walkers (showing up too early, a puppy wetting her crate numerous times after a walk), but nothing awful. Then the service started becoming remarkably worse. Bags of poop were left on our front porch. Our poop bag container was left outside. More than once receiving no pictures from the walks. Several times having no report cards left. We even discovered that our dogs weren't even being walked! Not until I set up a security camera for our front yard did I capture unsettling footage of our walker bringing a stranger with them...and give that stranger access to our home! Our dogs weren't even being walked, just let out in our front yard. The walker played fetch for less than 5 minutes and then simply sat on our porch swing while the dogs ran around! The walker didn't even apologize when called out, but said it was "too hot for a walk." With so many high reviews on Yelp, we'd never questioned the quality of service we were receiving from PSP. It wasn't until the service started to markedly slip, and then we set up cameras, did we discover how awful the service was that we were actually receiving! I would highly recommend setting up cameras to check on your pets and how they are being treated. We were horrified with what we discovered. read more

I'm sorry to say I can't agree with all the rave reviews posted here on Yelp. It may have something to do with the fact that Jay, the business owner, offers $10 off to every client posting a review on Yelp. Something to keep in mind when researching this company. I gave Pet Sit Pros two stars, the extra star for Rebbecca who did a good job taking care of our cats. I can't rate higher as there are several things we don't like about the way this business is being run. The first point has already been mentioned in the first paragraph: I come to Yelp for unbiased reviews but feel that, in this case, the criterion hasn't been met satisfactorily. Do ut des ("I give that you might give") should not play a part when writing a Yelp entry. Secondly, we don't appreciate paying more during holiday high season, or when booking pet care short notice. We often go on business trips last minute and need help without knowing days in advance. Thirdly, having to give out TWO house keys with a high release fee is not customer friendly. Fourth, their on-line system makes life for the business easier (think entering credit card details, address, all care instructions, pet descriptions etc. etc.), but is a hassle to complete for the customer. All bookings go through their system. I much prefer picking up the phone and speaking to a real person right away. Fifth, there should be no need for twice weekly emails about early booking deals, promos and business ads. Pushy comes to mind. Finally, their daily rates have recently increased to a higher level compared to most other pet sitting companies in the area, which do at least as fine a job if not better. Needless to say, we have found another local pet sitting provider that costs less, does not charge last minute or cancellation fees, treats our cats and house amazingly well and is always just a call away. read more

Found Pet Sit Pros on Yelp and couldn't be happier! The multitude of 5 star reviews speak volumes. We had a weekend Vegas trip planned. Our corgi, Mr. Pickles, had ACL surgery a few months back and we usually leave him at my in-laws when we go out of town, but since he is still healing he can't roughhouse or play crazy with any dogs (in-laws have 3 dogs). So we came to Yelp to search out a reliable pet-sitting service and found Pet Sit Pros. The owner, Jay, is super thorough and professional. We met with Jay and 2 of his sitters a couple weeks before our trip. They all asked a lot of questions to find out Mr. Pickles routines and specialized needs. After our meeting, we felt very confident leaving our corgi, Mr. Pickles in the care of Pet Sit Pros. We scheduled AM & PM visits - 1/2 hour in the morning and evening which consisted of feeding, walking, spending time with our dog and tending to any other misc. duties (giving him his nightly chewie, medicine, etc) If needed, they will even turn the blinds, bring in the mail and turn on/off lights. Our sitter, Kathie, was wonderful. She sent me detailed text messages me each time she came to take care of Mr. Pickles She let me know how he was doing, even what fun things happened on their walks ("Mr. Pickles made 3 new dog friends today and he was very excited to see me"). It was super cute and I totally appreciated it. :) When we arrived home, we found that Kathie had left a "report card" which went into even more detail about how the visits went. She had a checklist that was marked off each time he was fed, walked, etc. I tell you, Pet Sit Pros has thought of it all. The attention to detail and follow up is excellent!!! I can't rave enough about the people at Pet Sit Pros. I am a crazy owner to a 12-year-old mini poodle named Yolo. We have severe dependency issues with each other, as ever since I adopted him two years ago I have been working from home. I was SO anxious hiring someone to take care of my dog. Pet Sit Pros WERE amazing and I will use them each and every time I need someone to care for my pet. They were immediately attentive to my request - calling back immediately and scheduling a free meet & greet with my dog with any of the pet sitters that would care for him as long as we were clients. The dog walking staff was SO SWEET & loving towards my furbaby, as well as his neurotic mother. They texted me photos and updates each time they spent with him, with Denise being his primary walked. Scheduling is SUPER easy - you just create an account, log in dates/times you need them taken care of, and pay/tip online. My only regret is I wished I left my dog walked an extra tip in an envelop at home. She was great and definitely deserved that little extra! Had two planned trips and set it up. I almost forgot the first appointment because I was already traveling when I got the photo text of our cat sitting on the floor. I cannot tell you how excited we were to get it! I immediately sent a message back asking if they could come twice a day instead of one. Of course, done! Both trips were wonderful knowing our pet was 'happier" without us there, and that someone was greeting her even though she would run away. I have used Pet Sit Pros repeatedly when my husband and I travel. We use the overnight service to have our dog walked and fed in the morning and in the evening. Their service is the best! After hiring them to take care of our 2 dogs this past weekend, I could not agree more with the great reviews on Yelp for their services! First of all, this service is incredibly convenient for the tech-savvy consumer. You set up pet profiles online with your animal photos, vet info, special instructions, etc. Set up your credit card info, and schedule your visits. You receive email updates about your scheduled services, and even receive information about which Pet Sitter will be visiting your animals. Immediately after submitting my initial information on their website, I was contacted to set up a meet & greet appointment. The owner, Jay, came to this initial meeting, along with the primary and secondary pet sitters (Francisco & Tyler) that would be visiting our dogs. We did a walk through of the house, exchanged keys, completed a contract, and gave the sitters some time to get to know our dogs. Our dogs immediately bonded with them and seemed really at ease. We received text message updates twice a day while we were away, and also received a doggy report card when we returned, detailing the visits and services provided per day. We will absolutely be using Pet Sit Pros again in the future. Our sitter Tyler was excellent, and it put us at ease to know that our dogs were being given such great care while we were gone. Very professional organization, excellent service, and the price is right. Jay was very responsive when I called to inquire about a trip only one week away. We were anxious about leaving our large, recently acquired rescue dog either in a kennel or in someone else's home, but we didn't think he'd have a great time on vacation with us, either. Jay set our minds at ease, quickly scheduled an appointment to meet our pets and introduce potential pet sitters, gathered appropriate information and provided a very professional contract. We were happy that the pet sitter texted us daily and sometimes twice a day (at our request) about how our dog (and cats) were doing. She sent photos and told us about her walks with our dog, too. The sitters were clearly animal lovers who were experienced with different types and breeds of pets; they clearly knew their job and what was expected of them. When we got home, we found that, like a perfect houseguest, our sitter had stripped the bed we left for her and everything was exactly as we'd left it. Poop was picked up, litter was scooped, fresh water was out, and all 3 pets were content. Our mail was where we'd requested it be left, and my car had been moved as I'd requested. They thought of everything, asking if we wanted shades up, down or rotated, lights on or off, etc. Service was customized to our requirements. I felt very secure knowing that my home would look lived in while I was gone and my pets were well cared for. PSP offers professional service at a reasonable price (we saw others charging 40% more) and I would not hesitate to recommend their services to others. I just returned from a 2 week cruise and used Pet Sit Pros dog walking service. I have a 3 year old mini schnauzer who suffers from epilepsy and I wanted to avoid the added stress that boarding causes. Prior to my departure, I met with my dog walker and was instantly at ease. Gaby is very sweet and trustworthy and she was very good with my Lulu. Gaby left daily updates and sent several pictures from their hour long walks, Lulu always looked very happy. I'm very pleased with their services and professionalism. I called last minute to see about staying the night at our house (as our usual guy was with another client). Jay got back to me immediately, explained prices and procedures, and set up an appointment that evening to meet and greet the dogs. He brought along 2 sitters so that both would know the dogs for future stays. Everyone was really nice and easy to work with. They text messaged us (our preferred contact method) when they got to the house and when she left the next day. The house was as clean (if not cleaner) than when we left and she even picked up the poop in the back yard. I really liked the report card they left that explained all that they did and how the dogs behaved. Both of my dogs (including one rescue who can be a tad skiddish sometimes) loved all 3 of them and can't wait to play with them for future visits. Jay contacted me that same evening to discuss the services they offer. I was extremely pleased with the prices because it meant I could have 4 visits to my own home in a 24 hour period for half the cost of what it would be to board my 2 dogs for the same amount of time. The dogs I have right now have anxiety, so boarding is not a good option. We planned a consult for the following week to discuss pet sitting 6 weeks later when we were goimg to get married. However, two days later my grandmother died, my family flew out, and we decided to get married that weekend. We rushed everything and were totally stressed out, but Jay and his team were patient & gracious. He made it work and, in the end, the weekend went smooth and we were extremely pleased with the sitters. They texted me every single time they came over and even left a comment card. Long Beach's Pet Sit Pros is legit. They have taken care of my puppy, Roux, a handful of times during the course of the past year while I was on a number of week-long business trips. I appreciate that Pet Sit Pros offers all of the services of a corporate entity while still being as responsive and flexible as a locally owned business. The business owner is easy to contact via email and responds rapidly to any question or change in schedule. The pet sitters perform wonderfully and send text messages with pictures of Roux throughout the period that I'm away. My trips always tend to change on the fly, or have some wrinkle (for example, I had to go on a business trip the very day after I closed on my new condo; Pet Sit Pros adjusted without problem despite the uncertainty about where Roux would be located - my new place or old - until the very last minute), yet Pet Sit Pros accommodates us without issue. Friendly, fair and reliable. I've used Pet Sit Pros a few times now to care for my two cats and have been very happy with their service. I admit, I am a little bit crazy about my cats and have a hard time going away but I feel much more relaxed knowing that Jay is around to take care of them. He has always been reliable, prompt and easy to get a hold of on the phone when I am calling to check in on them. Also, a couple of times when I had to end my trip early he was very understanding and was willing to give me almost a full refund even though he didn't have to, which I totally appreciate.
