I have a Pet Playgrounds dog fence in my backyard. I have 2 dogs. One is Sammy, a mix between an Australian shepherd and Summer, a mix between a chocolate labrador and doberman pinscher. Sammy is 35 pounds and Summer is a little over 40. Next two my neighbor has 2 pit bulls. One is 70 pounds and one is 40 pounds. EVERY TIME the pit bulls run out for at least 1 minute they jump crazily on the fence and try to tug and pull at it. My fence has been up for over a year now, and I couldn't be happier. I had mine professionally installed. Rafe is the installer and he did an excellent job. I actually rent so this was literally THE ONLY option I could find for renter. There are no holes to dig, and no cement to pour. I literally couldn't be happier. read more

We purchased the "Max" dog fence from Pet Playgrounds in May 2024, and the experience has been frustrating from start to finish. The fence arrived in multiple boxes with no instructions and no labeled parts. The only guidance we could find was an online video -- which turned out to be for a different version of the fence. After installing it incorrectly, we were finally told to download a manual online. The instructions for the version we bought were buried at the very end of the document, which forced us to redo a large portion of the work. Even with the manual, the instructions were vague, outdated, and referenced parts that weren't even included. The mesh itself arrived bent, torn, frayed, and full of holes. Within an hour of being in the yard, our Great Pyrenees tore the mesh off the cable and jumped over the 6-foot fence. The gate was crooked and wouldn't close properly. Gripples came loose. Posts wouldn't stay tight. When we contacted the owner, he refused a refund and implied that we caused the damage ourselves. He repeatedly told us a "grandma and granddaughter" installed their fence in a weekend -- which felt condescending and dismissive, especially since we live in a rural area where hiring a handyman isn't realistic. We would not recommend this product to anyone -- especially if you have large dogs or expect real customer support. read more

I was excited when I found this fence back in February but the website was terrible and didn't work well for mobile so I called them, just as a favor, to report the bug. I was immediately sent over to the owner and when I told him his website needed some help to work properly so people who are on their phones (90% of the traffic to his website is probably mobile users) he was very dismissive and told me there wasn't anything he could really do. No, "Thank you for telling us" or anything. But he did tell me he'd throw in a free gate for our troubles. I mentioned my husband is a computer programmer and could probably tell him how to fix his site. He said great and my husband called him, spent time creating the bug fix, sent it over to him, and it's September and he still hasn't implemented the fix. My husband says it should have taken him 5 minutes. Fast forward to two weeks ago. I was finally ready to order my fence, so I made the order and added the gate I needed. Before I ordered I reached out to Victor the owner asking how he wanted me to proceed and he said just order it and he'd refund the gate. Absolutely NO restrictions on the gate were ever mentioned or sent to me by text or email. So I added the 8 foot gate I wanted, hit order, and waited. I sent him my order number right away but a week later hadn't heard a peep so I reached out again. He then said that they usually only do discounts on 200 foot fences not 150 like I had ordered, and that usually it's only on the 5' gate. With some back and forth he agreed to refund me $350 for the $420 gate. Today I got a text from him saying he's cancelling my order and refunding me because to ship this to me would COST THEM MONEY. I'm absolutely floored. I have spent months planning for this, saving for it, and going back and forth with them. If shipping would cost so much, what was the $149 I paid SHIPPING FEES for? If the cost of your kits has recently gone up, why did your website allow me to order it at that price??? This has been the WORST customer service and the most disappointing business practice I have ever seen. The good news is this: Deerbusters sell dog fence kits which are comparable to the pet playgrounds ones (I'm sure he'd disagree but whatever), so I spent a few hours this morning re planning it all out and price comparing all around and decided on the dog fence kit from Deerbusters. We bought this thinking it would be a cheaper way to fence our dogs in, rather than putting up a privacy fence. Plus it would give us peace of mind that our dogs couldnt dig out. Unfortunately this thing is garbage and not only did we spend $6,000 and 4 weekends of our time trying to install it, we now have realized it isnt anything that it promised so we are now having a privacy fence installed anyway! We tried to talk to the owner to give us at least some of our money back but he just kept saying we weren't doing it right, that we were missing pieces, missing steps, any excuse he could find. We tried disputing it with PayPal (which was how we paid) they were going to refund us but we would need to ship EVERYTHING back. That's not possible since the sleeves are smashed into the ground and the posts are in them and very hard to remove. Issues we had with pet playgound: Hard to install Instructions are missing steps, are unclear at times and jump around so you need to undo things you just did in order to do the next step. We were missing pieces The parts are flimsy When you add the tension wire all the posts start being pulled which means gate no longer closes The owner said we forgot to add the gate bracing (that was never a step anywhere) so he sent us those peices, we did that and it still didnt work There is no way to get this up in time to meet the return deadline so we are now stuck with $6,000 worth of junk. read more

I have had Pet Playground fencing in my yard for 7 years. It's great until you need them to do some repairs. A wild animal (groundhog I believe) has eaten through a portion and I need it repaired. I am tying and walking my dog while I wait for their repairman to even talk about scheduling a time to come to my house. He said "I should be able to stop by next week. Not sure on a specific day as of now." I called the company to see if there is anyone else - no one was available to talk. If you choose this fencing, make sure you are willing to wait and wait and wait... if you need them. read more

With an aesthetic backyard, my wife really did not wish to block the natural beauty of our view. THANK GOD this product was found by me. Extremely affordable vs alternatives. Very excellent customer service with a background and demeanor focusing on the pets success in the containment unit and not just putting up a box for your dog. We foster several visiting dogs and want an enclosure for our extended family member that looks good and works well. This innovative fencing product was our answer and we r very happy. Our Siberian Huskies continue to challenge containment - thats what they always do. For those that don't understand the conditions which a displaced dog goes under when rescued and fostered .... imagine an unsettled scared lost kid being trapped in a privacy fence with giant TV screens on the other side of a tiny privacy fence enclosure We foster Huskies, aka the " Houdini s" of the dog world. They are fence company's worse nightmare. Victor and the Pet Playground crew installed a system that has met their needs. Furthermore they have OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE which kindly assisted me in extra precautionary steps for my many crazy dogs. I have been pleasantly impressed with their knowledge of canine behavior in containment situations. Seriously disappointed. Don't buy this fence if you have clay soil. Don't buy if you want to end up with less material than you think you have. Don't buy if intend for it to stay together. If you call for support the co-owner/founder is a real "tough luck" and "I don't really care" kinda person. I also called about getting ringer ammo from them for linking the mesh etc and never received a call back. For now it's somewhat working but over time I can see the posts shifting, gate falling apart, and many other challenges. Wish I would have at least gotten a call back at the very least and a better customer service experience from the owner and service line. read more

I have had my Petplayground fence for 2 summers now. When I first got the materials for the fence they did not send the materials for the gate, that came 2 weeks after I got the fence put up. I bought the max height and the max strength fencing, my dogs have chewed through the fence and escaped numerous times now. I have had to purches welded wire fencing to completely go around the fenced area to keep the dogs in. This product is not chew proof by any means. I am in the process of having a privacy fence put up in it place. I would not recommend this fence to anyone who has dogs bigger than 10 pounds. read more

I wish I could give a lower rating as I never even had the opportunity to test out this product. It looked amazing, was affordable, and the website claimed 7-10 DAYS TO SHIP. Hang on for a lengthy review. We ordered this fence on May 12. The owner called me directly (much appreciated) and stated shipping was delayed up to 14 days. Understandably because of covid and a shortage in materials That's fine. When I followed up 20 days later on June 1 asking when I would receive a shipping confirmation, I was told that they were waiting on ONE piece of my fence. This piece was allegedly going to be delivered to the company on June 3. Then my order would ship. I was contacted on June 5 by someone else from the company asking to set-up an installation date. Even though I was previously told professional instal was not available in my area of Upstate NY. So now that the two men were on the same page, I was told again I would have my order "by the end of the week"...this would make it up to June 11. So on June 8, I reached out yet again letting the owner know that if I didn't have a shipping confirmation by June 11, I was going to cancel my order and request a refund. He assured me that ONE piece (remember, that was supposed to get to the company on June 3) would be delivered to them on Friday, June 11. And my order would ship today, Monday June 14 "AT THE LATEST." It is June 14, I contacted them asking for confirmation they received the piece, and the owner told me they only received a few on Friday. Mine might be in there, but if not it would get to them on Friday June 18 and my fence would ship "early next week," now going into the sixth week of no fence. LONG STORY SHORT, I received a refund. What a complete waste of our time. We've been tying our two HOUND dogs up in the backyard for five weeks now. Imagine being a hound dog and not being able to use your nose around your countryside backyard. While we understand this was an "outside shipping company" matter, that does not negate the fact we were strung along by the owner of the company for five weeks. Unacceptable business practices. The website absolutely needs to reflect the current shipping situations, or else we would have gone with a local fencing company to begin with. I needed a fence for my dog in our background and I did some research. This fence cost less than most fence options and it fits the need. My dog has a safe outside place to hang and the fence is see-through so we can still see the wooded area behind it. When people visit us with dogs, they love it as their dogs can play freely outside. No dog has come close to getting over or under the fence. I am not the most mechanical person in the world but I decided to install it myself. The only difficult part was getting the stakes into a spot with no rocks. Once the poles are up just follow the directions It took me 2 weekends and I installed 2 gates. Far less time than I thought. This is a great fence choice and everything you see on the website is true. read more

I bought my Pet Playgrounds 6' Max fence over 7 years ago to keep in our 4 very energetic, chewing and digging labradors plus a cairn-poo. We had an electric fence previously but unfortunately we have random power outages and one time, one of our former German Shepherds with the max power electric collar just ran through the electric fence into the high speed road we live on. He just shook his head and kept running. We were lucky it was when no cars passed by. I couldn't take a chance on any more electric fence failures. We bought the pet playground fence because it advertised to protect against digging and chewing which we knew we needed protection against. We also wanted a fence that was very inconspicuous as we live out in the country and didn't want an eyesore. My husband and son were able to put together the fence in a few hours for about 400'. I was surprised how quick this went up. We have been very happy with the fence. My dogs tried... and STILL try, to dig under them with no luck. I also hear coyotes every so often in the distance and feel good that this fence can keep them out when our little dog is out. I just purchased an RV and need to modify our fence to add wider gates. Because you can just cut where you need, add a couple more poles and the new gates, the modifications will be lower cost and relatively simple than had I purchased a more traditional fence. I've had my 6-foot Pet Playgrounds fence for nearly 6 years (installed by PP) and have been very happy with it. The black mesh blends nicely into the vegetation surrounding my yard. I like having the security of a fence while still being able to see the trees and birds around the perimeter of my yard, which I would not be able to do with a privacy fence. (The birds love perching on this fence!) The fence has stood up to my dogs and their friends and I have only positive things to say about the materials and design. The only thing I would do differently is not attach the fence to my house. That method of attachment left gaps between the fencing and my house and foundation (I plugged them with bricks) and is not as secure as I'd hoped, and it has also created difficulties with removing and repainting siding in the areas where the fence is attached. read more

Read alot of great reviews from local facebook group about Pet Playgrounds and decided to install one. Liked the look of it and that it would be practically invisible so didn't block the beautiful yard. I liked the sturdiness it promised and safety from wild animals and the overall cost. We purchased a five foot fence with two different size gates. Installation was a little more difficult than anticipated and the online videos could be a little more descriptive and detailed or perhaps make available a printed installation manual. Overall the installation took a bit longer and more tweaks to finish but once finished it we love it. Our dogs love their space. They don't purposely ram into the fence but if they accidentally bump into it or fall into it, it is secure enough to hold them. Being able for them to see through the fence makes them less reactive to outside stimuli that they would not be able to see through a traditional fence. We haven't seen any evidence of any other animals (wild or not) being in the yard or compromising the fence which is a huge relief. It is completely worth it and more than meets our needs. read more

I do not fault the product. I have alerted the company to concerns about the professional recommended by Pet Playgrounds to install my fence. That individual left a big gap in one area of the fence where the material was not secured and the footer (to prevent digging under) was not installed. A week ago today - a year and a half after the fence was installed - two neighborhood dogs breached the fence and literally tore my sweet 13 year old, 20 lb cockapoo to pieces in front of my eyes. Please note that I had installed the correct strength and height of fence according to company recommendations based upon my dogs. The neighborhood dogs - who have been around for about only a year - would have needed the max height and strength of fence to keep them out according to a company representative (Victor). Knowing what I know now, I will not trust my remaining dog's safety to Pet Playgrounds. I encourage anyone considering the purchase of a Pet Playgrounds system to opt for the maximum strength and height of the product, and to hire someone they know and trust personally to do the installation work. read more

The process of installing is very time consuming. The instructions are very poor. The installation manual leaves out some very important information. When installing the no dig sleeves and you can't get it sunk in the ground the full 30" depth the manual says you can cut the sleeves off as long you are able to get it atleast 50% in the ground. So I proceed to install the post per the manual and cutting some off at 16-17". What the manual doesn't tell you is their are indents in the post and if cut below 18" in length you remove the indents in the post. These indents keep the post up from sliding down too low in the sleeve. If you cut off the indents the post sits too low down and the fence now is too short in height. When contacting the manufacturer and questioned why my post height wasn't the correct length I was told that I needed to put gravel down into the sleeve to bring the post back up to the right height. This is ABSOLUTELY no where in the manual or in the install video!!! When I questioned (Victor) from petsplayground on this, he said this only happens very rarely and they don't want to put this in the instructions because it would confuse some people!!!!!! This is just an insane reason because they clearly tell you that post can be cut off. Because of their terrible instructions I waisted 5-6 hours trying to pull out the posts (because they were already (plum/ leveled w / nails). Once the nails are in , it is nearly impossible to get them out to separate the post from the sleeve to put gravel in to raise the post. This is crazy that the manufacturer knows this but doesn't want to put it in the manual because it may confuse some people. I spent many frustrating hours trying to fix this. Avoid this company, they might have a good product but they have poor tech support, terrible instructions and plan on spending many frustrating hours installing the fence!! read more

We have a dog hotel and we decided to use Pet Playgrounds for our fencing. We are satisfied with the fencing but definitely not satisfied with the service. After putting the fence up, we had to have a few more items so I placed an order for the additional supplies. After 2 weeks of waiting, I called the company and was told they had overlooked my order but I would have it in a few days. Again, I had to wait 2 weeks but my order finally came. Now, almost a year later I needed more posts so I placed my order (and paid for it). After 2 weeks of not hearing anything I called the company and was told to email them, which I did. It's been 2 more weeks and I still haven't heard from them or received my order. I have made 2 phone calls and multiple emails with no response but as I said, they have their money. I love the fence but it's not worth the poor service. I would recommend that you try to find another company to deal with!! read more
