That sounded too good to be true, but I took him at his word. When the three weeks was up, I sent him a message to check in and see when he was coming out. That message went unanswered. I waited another 10 days, and called him. His cell number said it was disconnected, and so I called the main business number. He answered there and told me that he would be scheduling with me in the coming days. I never heard from him. I waited until June 17th, a month after the initial contact, and messaged him again. This time he replied right away and said he had my gate in the shop, and that he had just two other jobs ahead of me, but that he would be out that same week to install. That week came and went, and I heard nothing. Now, another week has come and gone (making for six weeks since we first spoke and came to an agreement, and he has just disappeared. I had a lot of confidence in him because he was so friendly when I first reached out, and got the estimate to me exactly when he said he would. Moreover, all his reviews on here are positive. I'm not really sure what the deal is, but he left us hanging, which is just awful customer service! You should never promise what you aren't going to deliver. Moral of the story: if something seems too good to be true, it probably is!

We ended up selling that house without new fencing, but our new house needed a fence ASAP, so I contacted Chris even before the closing. He worked around several obstacles (weather, trees, HUGE rocks, a shed delivery, an uncompleted paving project) but planned it all out and everything went perfectly. The fencing itself is great quality and the crew he brought in was amazing. We took all his suggestions and we're glad we did. (Boy, was he dead-on regarding gates, etc.!) The pricing and labor contract was clearly spelled out and there were no "surprises." And EVERYONE who comes to the house comments on my great fence ! The previous fence company I'd been using just flat out didn't reply to my request for a quote. Their loss, big time. Several years ago I did get a vinyl fence quote from that company and it was considerably more than what I paid Hartford Fence to do, in 2025. Also the more expensive quote was for a white vinyl fence, which I do not like. So, that left me to reach out for other estimates and Hartford Fence came flying in with a swift estimate, excellent color options and once we made our decision and put down a deposit, they installed the thing within 9 days. Based on reviews, we were very excited to work with Arrow Fence. Scott came out to measure and we received initial plans for our fence about a week later, informing us that they were scheduling 10 weeks out from the date of down payment. Upon noticing several errors to what we requested for our job on the original plans, we asked for a requote. Scott returned several weeks later and remeasured for the requote which was delivered in a timely manner. We are now about 1 month from the 1st visit. Two weeks after the visit for the requote we had still not received our quote or contract, despite multiple attempts at contact. Upon speaking with another member of the company 5 days ago we were told that Scott would be contacted that day and the contract would be sent to us that day. It was not. We tried calling every day after that and got voicemail or no response. Finally got a voicemail returned today to be told that Scott had gone on vacation starting today and would be gone for several weeks. We were also informed that scheduling was now being done 3-4 months after the deposit was placed. Because Scott is the only person that has any of our information and he is now on vacation for several weeks, we were told that we would not be able to put our deposit down and schedule our job until he returned. Our job that should have started at the beginning of February (weather permitting) is now being pushed until the beginning of May. To top it all off, almost everyone that we spoke to outside of Scott has been exceedingly rude and unconcerned with how our project has proceeded in such a slow and chaotic manner. Although our project may have been small (~$25,000), they really showed their true colors and how little they care about their customers. Our family now has to start this entire process over again with a new company, in the middle of winter with a foot of snow on the ground, having lost MONTHS of time and energy to a company that was entirely unconcerned about their poor service. I understand that companies like these are very busy right now, but how you treat people when times are less than ideal is the true measure of who you are. Arrow Fence does not measure up.

One week later, a truck pulled up outside and within about an hour the old railings were gone and the new railings were installed! Starline was the second least expensive (first estimate was 10k, most were around 6, Starline's was $4400) and I chose them because Jose was professional, helpful, excited about the job and the pictures of past work were beautiful. When he came out to the property, the quote he gave me on the phone was exactly the same as the quote he gave me in person. He scheduled me for the following week. On the day of, he arrived early with his team and when I got home from work, the fence was 99% done. His team came back the next morning and finished installing the gates. The final bill was exactly what he said it would be. We have had multiple contractors at our new home - for painting, small projects, HVAC, etc - and by far Jose was the most honest and reliable. On top of that the fence looks AMAZING. You won't regret using their services.
