Requested driveway seal coating. Coverage was poor and they refused a check; required payment in cash. The spray coating was poor (absorbed coating unevenly) and sprayed up onto the garage doors. Agreed to recoat and clean the doors. Recoat was better but uneven due to persistent nozzle fouling. Accidentally sprayed me ruining T-shirt and jeans. Sent 2 people with the "wrong" solvent to clean the doors, door trim, siding, concrete and decorative wall stone. Rinsed rags in lawn..had to dig out & replant. Most overspray was removed but so was some of the lower garage door paint. Sought Overhead Door qualified painter ($700). DG owner negotiated lower price from someone else ($300)....unknown expertise. Its now 31 days trying to correct the problems they created. The crew did a quick and efficient job of digging out the old asphalt with minimal impact to our yard. They cleaned up after themselves well even though it was dusk. Horrible experience!! We had a brand new driveway put down in June and paid in full, there was a huge puddle in front of garage so asked they come back to fix. Since it was not pitched correctly, they agreed to come back in 8 weeks. They came back after 10 calls with no notice, did a rush job, and botched up the whole thing. I was in my back yard early one morning when 'Joe' approached me out of no where.Previously I had been researching The Driveway Guys for awhile to get my driveway paved at a later date but 'Joe' was very pushy in wanting to do the job that day although I stated I had other plans! he was not listening! he apparently goes to homes unannounced if he sees a potential job he will approach you.He said I am doing a job up the road and we can come here today stating gas is expensive for my trucks,If I did it that day the price would be lower but higher another day.'Joe' was a persistant salesman and his unprofessional approach was not appreciated. Ok These came in at the most reasonable price. Lowest cost for just seal coating. I have normal size driveway and one guy came in over $400. With that being said, after agreed with the price it took a while to schedule. I guess they are pretty busy. Bu the manager would always get back to me when I asked when they were coming. The postponed once because rain was in the forecast. So I appreciated them to error on the side of caution just in case. Because rain would destroy the job if it rained the next day.. However they came the day after memorial day at 0720 just the right h time as they said 0730. The guy came, and rang the dorrbell to tell me that hey are here to work. They were done within a half hour. Weed wacked any weed area at the end of the driveway and blew off all debris including any debris on my front walk way. They filled in my cracks on the driveway and seal coated. The pics are the driveway as it is wet. So aim excited to see it dry. They did an outstanding job. And if it stays as good as looks I will definitely use them again. read more

You can tell these guys know what their doing, many years of experience. I got multiple quotes, everyone was in the same ball park. But, I picked them because I saw some other driveways they've done. Also, they could do the whole thing in a day, and I didn't need to pay until they were complete and I was satisfied with their work. If your in the market for a driveway. The Driveway Guys delivered as promised! They removed our old, broken driveway and left us with a beautiful new one which was wider at the entrance than what we had originally. Joe and his crew were professional and very efficient throughout the whole process. They left our yard and the road in front of the driveway very clean. They quoted a job to remove my old broken driveway and pave a new one. They came out and decided to pave over the old driveway. I was not home. These guys bullied my wife telling her it was better to go over than remove. So they go over my driveway and what do you know... I start getting cracks in the same spot as the old driveway. My wife paid them but they never changed the price. I complained after I found out. They offered a free seal for the driveway. I accepted. They kept rescheduling due to rain that never happened. Literally AWFUL. Paid in advance for the job. Was rescheduled SIX times. Paid IN FULL. When a few months went by and it was time to seal the driveway, they rescheduled three times for imaginary rain (nothing in the forecast, no rain ever happened), and then called to say they wouldn't be sealing any more driveways for the rest of the year. Well, if you didn't reschedule for a month, there would be no issue. Insulted by offering a $100 refund. Will be taking to court. read more

Left messages- returned text Wednesday only to be told not coming the supplier closed for the season. Now it is too cold to find someone else . The driveway will now crack even more this winter. We were looking to expand and repave our driveway and The Driveway Guys were the fastest to get us a quote. They also had the most reasonable price for what we were looking to do. The excavation and paving teams were very nice and did their jobs safely and efficiently. I would have given 5 stars but there were several communication and clerical errors at their main office that resulted in them losing our original quote and the excavation team not knowing the scope of the work to be done when they arrived. October 2016 had a new driveway installed. Come spring I have plants growing through, called them up and the owner, Joe, said they'd send someone out...weeks of calls and it was always the same thing, "someone will come look" and no one came. I then began noticing if I parked my car for any reasonable amount of time (to be washed or work in the garage) the car would sink and impression be left. I called Joe and same thing, only I kept calling and he eventually showed up. Joe said they'd fix the impressions and given more time to cure wont happen again. Rinse and repeat the phone call game (this is normal when theres an issue apparently) and they eventually did come out but the issue continued to worsen to the point empty garden hoses would sink into the asphalt. Over the 2017 winter we noticed cracks starting to form, over 15 frost heaves, many of which are over 2 to 3 inches tall form. Called Joe and played the phone game again and eventually he came out (2 or 3 months later) and said his guys would cut the heaves out and fix it. They cut out a small area and pulled out 3 large boulders that had made their way to the surface. As the dug I began to wonder..."wheres the gravel base I paid for?". After the small repair called Joe, over a month later he comes out and I tell him theres no gravel, and he argues saying it's my property and water tables having boulders "18 inches a year" through the soil. Hell repair the driveway for free and I can pay for drains and labor. At this point I had already had several companies come out to assess it, they all said these guys are "fly by night", and that there were thin spots in the asphalt, no base, poor compaction. Joe defended his honor by saying the other companies are picking on him because "were the best in the business" . We continue talking over the phone and email, and he agrees to repair the whole driveway and a date is set up (guest what happens...yup, no show for almost a month). Finally arrives and complains he doesnt want to replace the whole driveway because part of it is "fine", but I'm not dealing with two pieces of driveway shifting throughout the year. Joe finally agrees to a full replacement under one condition... the work will have no warranty and he wants indemnity. Maybe I'm paranoid, but sounds like someone either a) makes bad driveways as a baseline and knows it, or b) wants to do an even worse job... Do NOT go with this company, you'll be happy for a few months and then immediately disappointed and depressed you went with such a fly by night company. Many people I've talked to afterwards all had issues with these clowns. I'm now left with a driveway that has cracks throughout it, frost heaves that get worse daily, and crumbling edges. If your choices are a driveway made of nails or these guys...go with the nails. read more

March 27, 2017 Summary of complaint against The Driveway Guys, LLC:   Contracted services not provided Unsatisfactory customer relations Failing to return five direct phone messages and 3 indirect messages     Missed start date/no new start date On 24 October 2016 I accepted a proposal from Joe of The Driveway Guys, LLC for the paving of a portion of my driveway. The proposed start work date was 7 November 2016. I called Joe on his mobile phone immediately after he left my house, as I had forgotten to notify him that I required a certificate of insurance with my wife and me listed as additional insured. I also had a question about the grade of asphalt and the drainage of the new driveway. Unfortunately, this and several other phone messages to Joe went unreturned. My questions remained unanswered even after several calls to his office assistant. I didn't want the job to begin without this information I required. A total of five messages from 10-24-16 to 11-7-16 were made to Joe, none of which were returned. On or about 26 November 2016, I received a call from the aforementioned office assistant notifying me that the job will be deferred until next year. I asked for answers to my previous three requests, a new contract with the new start date for next year. Those requests were never fulfilled. I called Joe approximately two weeks ago and spoke with him for the very first time - he had never answered his phone previously. He stated that he would be home the following Monday and asked that I call him back at that point. I did so, but he didn't answer his phone or return my message. Today, 27 March 2017, I called the office and spoke with the office assistant and said I need to know whether they'll provide my information and if so when they will start the job.. She said that she would call Joe and have him call her back, although he rarely returns her calls either.. For the first time, he actually called me although this seemed just to argue.. He was more focused on what he thinks I had said about him rather than the job details. After a brief conversation he informed me that he couldn't "make me happy".  He made bizarre accusations that I told his brother that he didn't return 30 calls from me.  I informed him that I have never spoken to his brother.  He told me that I told his brother that I complained to BBB.  I told him that I have never spoken to his brother nor complained to BBB yet. Joe's actions as a partner of The Driveway Guy's were exceedingly unprofessional.  It would seem appropriate to take administrative action against his license.
