After we had hired Dane he was involved in a major car accident seriously affecting one of his arms. He was unable to work for several weeks. It was apparent he was in serious pain and I'm sure this affected his mood. We tried to take this into account in our negotiations and working relationship for this project. While we wish him a speedy and complete recovery, we are sorry to have hired him. That being said, don't hire Dane White and Perfect Curb - it will be more trouble than it's worth. Dane isn't cheap, he isn't respectful and he doesn't take adequate pride in or responsibility for his work. Your excitement and anticipation will be eclipsed by stress, difficult negotiations and disrespect - with no more than average results. He didn't seem at all concerned about, or motivated by, the possibility of a negative review. So here's mine. We hired Perfect Curb to widen our brick path and re-do our asphalt driveway with crushed stone. We wanted the same contractor to do both, so the brick and crushed stone surfaces would meet and integrate smoothly. I was extremely excited about this project and really looked forward to the end result. Communication with Dane, though good at first - was difficult from the time we signed the contract. Though we had met with him a year earlier and assured him we would be working with him and sent our deposit and contract in soon after we received it, he claimed we took too long and immediately scheduled other jobs before ours, delaying the start of our job by several weeks. Our job was finally started over six weeks after its initial start date. When asked what specific stone he planned to use, he replied slowly - and vaguely - sending us on several long trips to stone yards, one of which was to look at the very type of stone we'd specifically asked him not to use. Getting answers to these basic questions was like pulling teeth and did not inspire confidence. When Dane finally began the job, he was clearly in a rush and refused to pause his heavy equipment for any discussion, creating a mind-numbingly noisy atmosphere of confusion and pressure. He miscalculated the design of the driveway and couldn't figure out how to solve the issue of brick meeting the crushed stone - the main reason he was hired. When my husband made a suggestion, he snapped at him - but ultimately used his suggested solution. Far from being gracious, he had a truculent attitude - insisting my husband agree to pay extra if we didn't like the outcome. Unbelievably, Dane blamed his driveway miscalculation on me - he argued with me, insulted me and then never apologized. He took no responsibility at all for what was clearly an unacceptable and poorly planned installation. He added the wrong type of stone to the area of the driveway he corrected. When asked to address this, he put a thin layer of the existing driveway trap rock over the top of it to hide the mistake. It revealed itself on closer inspection after Dane had already received payment in full for the job. We had to stop payment on our check in order to get him to come back and correct this mistake, along with another incomplete installation of the brick under the porch steps. While we now have what we believe is a decent installation, it will take a long time to feel good about it as the process was filled with poor communication, bad attitude, rushed work, lack of pride in the work and a lot of nickel and dime-ing. read more

Bought a Groupon for a flower bed. They claimed on Groupon that they work in my area. They were unwilling to do the project advertised because, "It's too far and it would cost more in gas than the project was worth." Told me to get a refund on Groupon. Now I have Groupon Bucks instead of money. Thanks Asshole!!! read more

I can tell you we are extremely pleased with our patio and fire pit. It was a difficult job because we have a old house that you had to work with what we had with an already poured concrete patio which was part of the house pour. Before and after pics truly describe their work. read more

Where else can you include the knowledge of a Licensed Engineer to help you design and empliment a landscape plan? One incredible value! I thought all you needed was to put down some bricks but I have learned more than I can remember about the under side of a patio. We hired Perfect Curb to do a large project for us that included two stone patios, a paver-stone walkway, several rock gardens with stepping stone paths and various other landscaping. In addition they put in a new crushed stone driveway with beautiful stone edging. The plants that they chose all made sense and look gorgeous. Dane was so patient with us as we tried to decide on the various details and would add to the scope as we went along. He came up with great ideas and was very conscientious of our schedule and budget. I cannot recommend Perfect Curb enough. They are quality professionals who treat their customers fairly. read more

Excellent choice for masonry/patio work. Dane the owner was great to work with and the end results were even better than we expected. Dane was able to create a paver patio directly over a terrible uneven rock patio the previous owner had put in. This leveled out the whole patio to the perfect height for our rear sliding door. In addition to this, he was able to expand the patio out a couple feet in every direction across the whole perimeter. He also added a couple small field drains to replace the previous drains which were large, unsightly and didn't even perform correctly. I also want to mention Danes pricing is very fair and reasonable. We got proposals for the same scope of work for nearly double what Dane quoted us. read more

Terrible - would not recommend. Destroyed our property. Hired to strip and reseal stampcrete around our in ground swimming pool. Hardened on black residue everywhere including pool liner, white fence around pool, pool coping, pool liner and 6 sliding screen doors around screen room. Mr White told us the black residue would dry up in time and fall off. He said the screens are fine. Not So... Never stripped all old sealer off and tried to apply new sealer over old. Rain came and washed that away. Would NEVER recommend this contractor read more
