This time, though, we have a rambunctious 5 mo. old puppy who is just too much for my mother-in-law. I did some research and found Heartstrings on Yelp with great reviews. I took a tour of the facility and was very pleased with the cleanliness and the staff. I liked the fact that the boarded dogs were given time in the play yard (supervised) every day and that they posted the dog pictures on Facebook. Our rambunctious puppy is also very fearful and nervous around new people and situations. I was worried how she would do. I called the resort a couple days into her stay and they said she was shy at first but had started to come out of her shell and was enjoying her time with the other dogs. One thing I really appreciate is they understood that our pup was shy and they worked to put her with other dogs who were well suited for her temperament so she didn't get traumatized by the other dogs. I would definitely use Heartstrings again for boarding and we will also be using their daycare services as well.

Bo is typically shy and hides in the closet but he took to her, left the closet and regularly interacted with her. She went out of her way to spend quality time with them daily. Her communication is excellent and she provided daily updates with pictures. Bo got sick while I was away, she took him to the vet and called me so I could speak with the vet for the entirety of the visit and know exactly what was going on. Afterwards she spent additional time with him daily to make sure he was improving and doing well. He doesn't like taking medication and she immediately took the initiative to buy meat to ensure he took the full course of his medication. Kathy was the only one I trusted to take care of my cats in my absence and she is still the only one I'd trust. A 5 star review doesn't give justice for everything she did and if I could I'd rate her higher.

Dogs pee and poop right there inside on the rubber mat, and I know they mop, but dogs don't get any outside time in their small rear yard. At this point I figured what could it hurt and it was less money than 2 private sessions with my other trainer. Ok so...20 minutes in...positive and negative reinforcement?!? Hello!?! Makes so much sense. I did the research and got the pinch collar and the ez trainer 300 collar and less then 1 week later...here we are! On a walk with other dogs, other people and he didn't pull, no lunging and I didn't fear once the life of a passing pedestrian, dog, cyclist, squirrel or chipmunk and I didn't fear being pulled into another state on a last minute whim of my 10 month old Sheprador which let me tell you was fully a worry of mine a couple weeks ago. So excited to continue these online lessons. I finally feel like I'm equipped.

I knew nothing of them, but something felt so right just in the appointment booking conversation I had with the owner, so I went ahead and committed to an appointment. When I picked up my little guy, he looked amazing and was as happy as he was when I left him. When we are out of town she visits twice per day, walking Chili our lab/pit girl, and even taking her to the dog park! We joke that Chili likes it when we go out of town because she enjoys her visits from Sabrina so much! Sabrina is very knowledgeable about dogs as well. When Chili developed a strange skin problem that was not responding to anything from the vet Sabrina recommended adding an item from the kitchen pantry to Chili's diet and now about 2 months later the skin problem is gone. Sabrina is absolutely reliable, extremely organized and professional, very responsive to emails and texts, and just in general is an uncommon and highly valuable resource. I just don't encounter many people out there in the world who are as reliable and committed to their work as Sabrina. When we return home from a 2+ week vacation Chili is calm and happy. Not sure what else we could hope for...other than to be able to take Chili with us everywhere. In the meantime, Sabrina is a terrific resource, and we are very thankful to have found her.
