I have since been trained, how to recognize Rémy's behavior and stop it before it happens. We did some private training and he did a Board & Train with Julia. Rémy now is confident in busy settings, is calm on outdoor patios, can pass another dog, person, bicycle, scooter, car, garbage truck, etc. without flipping out. His house manners are excellent and we are practicing every day to maintain them. We also have two 1-year old rotties that are littermates. Talk about out of control. One would be chewing on furniture while the other one was on the other side of the house exploring the trash. Total chaos. Julia came to our house and did some private lerssons with each of them to determine what behaviours needed to be corrected. Enzo, our male, stayed with Julia for 3 weeks and has been an absolute joy to have back home. He listens, does what he is asked (the first time) and walks beautifully on a loose leash. Piper, the smartest of the bunch, is so polished on the walks and so calm. She was one who would cry and whine until she got what she wanted. Not anymore! Julia evaluated each dog and asked what we wanted our pack to look like. She was vigilent with working on their manners and getting then to behave calmly in public. She would post multiple videos on social media while they were with her and sent me the pictures and videos so we could see their progress. She engaged them in play that helps them learn instead of the free-for-all they had at our house. We are living harmoniously once again. We've always had multiple dogs at home. We took them all to puppy kindergarden (if we had them as a puppy) for socialization and then group obedience after that. It wasn't until we had Rémy that we thought about a private trainer. We had several with him. They were all fine but they didn't train me! Julia could tell how afraid I was walking this rottie in public and we took baby steps so we could both gain our confidence. If I could give Julia 10 stars or more, I would. Julia has a special talent and explains the WHY so the human can understand. She's trained in dog behaviours and gets fantastic results. She's responsible for getting all of us back on track to be able to have guests in our home, be able to take a dog or 2 with us to the store, getting me outside on daily walks/hikes and overall having the family dynamic that we didn't think we could have again.
