We literally live just around the corner about three blocks away in Linda Mar and we couldn't be more than happy and thankful to have this Pet Food Express location (plus their wonderful staff) so close by. As local Pacificans, we've been buying our dog food here ever since our little golden retriever Jax was a puppy and ONE of the many (positive) things that has always been consistent through the years is the great customer service! Most recently I want to note an interaction that is worth this review. I'd love to recognize Dawn, one of the managers, who went above and beyond to ensure I was retained as a happy loyal customer. Prior to Thanksgiving I called to inquire about the Black Friday pet wash token sale, and the associate who I spoke with on the phone had unfortunately given me wrong information stating that the sale went until Monday 11/28. When I spoke with Dawn on Monday 11/28 she had informed me that the sale had actually ended on Sunday but due to the miscommunication I received, she would make an exception to go ahead and honor this one time for me. She did so without hesitation and moreover with a lens of empathy. Thank you Dawn for your understanding and making a situation right and whole for the customer after employee error. When I went into the store that evening, I also bought 4x bags of 28 pound TOTW dog food, and Teyhla (really cool name by the way) was more than happy to help me load my cart and also load my car out in the parking lot. This holiday season I am grateful to have this Pet Food Express in our local shopping center to make meeting all of our doggie's needs easy! I have to also say these days it's pretty damn rare to find retail staff members who are genuinely kind and prioritize the customer experience. At first, I thought it's pretty odd to write a Yelp review for a pet food store but I appreciate them so much I don't mind taking time to submit the positive feedback here! I have a 54 lb staffy so giving him a bath at home is a nightmare. Dog people are the best. This particular Pet Food Express is fairly new and opened several months ago in Linda Mar Shopping Center. We happened to take advantage of the FREE pet wash coupon and we were impressed. Regular price for the pet wash is $15 and you can purchase 4 at $11.25 each which gives you a saving of $15; totally worth it. The session is 25 minutes long with options for a pre-wash, shampoo, conditioner and blow dry. They have free treats available for a little encouragement for the stubborn ones. Extra towels are available upon request. If you've been to one of their stores, the layout of the store is pretty much similar to every Pet Food Express, but this store in particular has got the best staff I've ever encountered. Every single one I've met who assisted us were genuinely caring, friendly, attentive and loving towards your four-legged family members. The people that work here genuinely loves dogs in all shapes and sizes and they give everyone the extra attention, and they seem to enjoy working here. They're not faking this and it shows with their smile and interaction. There's a couple of PFE stores that's closer to us, but I wouldn't mind driving here because of the wonderful staff. It's also a great location near the beaches along the coast and I would highly recommend giving your four-legged loved ones a bath here after a day's worth of outdoor activities before headed home. read more

We love our local Pet Food Express! We adopted our dog during COVID and it's been so helpful to be able to place orders for her food and treats online and pick them up the same day. I've been here a handful of times since Pet Food Express has opened and each time I come I'm pleasantly surprised by the level of service (like I forgot it was great every time before or something). Although their entire team has been awesome the only name that comes to mind is Winston. Winston was friendly, personable, and attentive which makes for a great shopping experience. I absolutely highly recommend this store to anyone who needs quality pet products at a great value. I used to shop at the big stores for my dogs who have a dietary allergy and need special food but after my past few lack luster experiences at these stores I started shopping at Pet Food Express and now I won't shop anywhere else. The difference with the customer service was noticeable immediately. I often have questions about the food ingredients and find it almost impossible to find anyone at the larger stores to help me, this was not the case at Pet Food Express. Everyone is so helpful, especially Christina who has helped me most lately. Christina was so kind and patient with me, she really took the time to listen to my concerns and answered all my questions. I have three Pomeranians which receive ''Bathing Service'' whenever I'm at the store. I can bring all three of them even when I have a reduced coupon at $5.00. The staff is great, the store has a little of everything yet mostly a variety of food for all pets. The store has contests for Halloween costumes, Santa Photos as well. The VIP Service comes in every Saturday for your dogs certain needs, ie.. I used to like this place, but not anymore! Every time I go in there, there are about six kids harassing me trying to get me to buy their most expensive stuff. I have been going there for years and most recently is when this has become a much bigger problem. I like to run in and out when I go in there, but this constant harassment has made it impossible. The customer service is absolutely ridiculous; if I choose not to grab one of the brands that they try to sell me, then the offers begin, i.e., oh you can get two for one, etc. these offers didn't exist before then. The night before the World Dog Surfing Championships in Pacifica, Dawn from Pet Food Express organized a Pre-Pawty for the surf dogs, their people, and the Pet Food Express customers. My daughter and I met the most adorable group of pups and people - and discovered Pedro Point Brewery located in our part of town. We attended the surfing event the following day and had an incredible experience. Part of the fun was visiting the Pet Food Express tent that was set up on the beach. This business continues to bring so much joy into our lives. We really appreciate that Daniel got things off to such a great start that we became loyal customers on our first visit! My daughter just adopted a gorgeous rescue cat named Moya from Ella's CatHouse & Catnip Bar in Napa. With the adoption papers, we got a 20% off discount coupon to use at Pet Food Express. We found a store conveniently located in the Linda Mar Shopping Center. On our first visit, Daniel greeted us and spent a lot of time helping us find the best litter box & litter, bed, toys, food, and other items to get us ready for Moya's arrival. Since the litter box is in a small storage area connected to my daughter's bedroom, he recommended a Litter Genie and Dawn was very helpful in showing me how it works. We love the odor and mess control of the Litter Genie and highly recommend it for those dealing with cat litter. They are also a local store founded by a two pet loving San Franciscan friends. It feels good to support small, local businesses! I just adopted my dog about a month ago and I have been here several times for supplies. The staff is super, duper, uber friendly and they already recognize me! I have always had all my questions answered in knowledgable ways and not only that but did I mention they are friendly!?!?! It is wonderful. I love coming here. P.S. They have a DIY grooming section in the back where you can give your dog a bath, and they have high quality Veterinarians on site on the weekend for quick questions and advice. I love this place. OMG, I could not imagine a more enjoyable shopping experience. I've been shopping here for my cats for many years and have always been greeted by staff with kindness and a genuine desire to help. I recently adopted a rescue dog Loretta, and had such a pleasant experience with all the staff! They teamed up and gave me great advice, product recommendations, and spent a little time loving on our new girl. It is clear that this company knows who to treat their employees because they are all wonderful.
