Located way over on sketchy 3rd Avenue - this place is a hidden gem. Okay, not really a gem but it is hidden and it's a pretty great place. It's a little dirty and packed inside but the huge warehouse attached to the store really saves you money. There are guys walking though the store - they ask you what you need and they go and fetch it. The guy who runs the place is true Brooklyn and very nice. Ok my pet Yorkie, loves this place. Why? because this is where his master gets his goodies. He loves the fact that I don't have to break the bank. I've been going to the place for nearly 8 years and the staff is very helpful. The owner, Mark, orders items if you ask for stuff that's out of stock. He is also very knowlegeable on pet health. Prices are fair. This store has almost every item you need. It's has better stock than Petco, Target etc. One thing- check dates. read more

This has got to be the cheapest pet store in Brooklyn. Great selection of higher end/organic/grain free dog foods and treats. They also have a huge range of toys, beds, leashes, etc. I usually drive there, but they also offer free delivery which is awesome. The owner is friendly, although as others have noted, does occasionally make off color comments that don't reflect my personal political values. But given how expensive owning a pet can be, I bite my tongue and enjoy the savings. read more

Ok to all the jerks with low ratings, you're nuts!!! This is a family place!! They really care for animals here! I've been coming here since I got my first dog 3 years ago!! They always treat my dogs with love and ask about they're well being. They are honest about what food is good for your dog and they are way cheaper than literally any other dog place. I have healthy and happy dogs cuz I starred coming here cuz I had no idea how to take care of a pup. They tought me everything I know!!! This is exactly the type of place every pet owner needs!!! This is easily the best shop for dog and cat supplies in the Greenwood and Sunset Park area. Even if you don't live in the area it's worth the trek for the fair prices and a really big (albeit cramped) selection of dog and cat supplies. The service is very helpful too and I found all the stuff I needed for my cat in a few minutes. read more

If you live in the vicinity it's so worth the savings. Jeff supplies many pet stores throughout the boroughs so his prices are amazing. The store is very cramped but he has a big loading dock thus chances are he'll have what you're looking for. Bring a car or a hand cart, or at least some good canvas bags, buy in bulk. read more

I have been going there for years but I moved to Staten island I I tried to find a pet store with great prices could not find one 60 to 73 cents extra then pet delight so I go to Brooklyn to get my food for my baby pay the 13dollar toll and still save money . I just go there when I have to buy my dogs food in an emergency..!!!!! The lady is very rude!!!!! Usually the guy is more patient and he always try to help.... I went there today and they have a $20 minimum on cards!!!!! I told her that is not legal in NYC to have a minimum and this rude lady told me that she being in court for that already!!!!!!! That she can't swipe my card cause she has to pay fees for swiping and bla bla bla.... I'll try not go there never again.. My dog has tartar. He hates every flavor available of toothpaste I've ever found. He hates the sprays and dental chews and any type of treats meant to help clean teeth. I went here because the reviews all said that the owner knows his stuff. He gave me a bunch of options to help clean the tartar off of my pup's teeth. After my options he recommended a gel and some treats. My dog sits still for the gel - SHOCKING and he actually eats the treats. It takes some trickery like I'm going to steal the cookie from him but now he eats them on his own SHOCKING again. I like going to places where the people know what they're talking about and don't oversell or BS you. read more

They have very competitive prices and have most of the good dog brands. However, some of the toys are overpriced and are cheaper elsewhere. If you ask the workers and the owner, who's always there, they know their stuff! I get my Merrick canned dog foods here because it's the cheapest I've found everywhere- $2.19! read more

My first time shopping here, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, thank goodness this place was open as many pet supply shops were closed. (All the employees wear masks, so I felt very safe) They have a large selection of toy balls, ropes, dry food, canned food, natural food, collars, leash, you name it. The man helping me at the counter was very helpful. I went in for a dog collar for a friend's puppy, and I was about to buy 3 different collars different sizes because I didn't know the puppy's size. The man asked me for details, like the puppy age and breed, and I told him 9 weeks golden retriever, and showed him a picture for reference. He suggested a specific size collar for the puppy, that will last months with the adjustable straps. I was about to buy 3, but instead of just letting me waste my money, he urged me to take the one he recommended. This man was so considerate, I ended up buying some other items from the store, even though I came in for 1 collar. And in the end, the collar fit perfectly on the puppy, and he loved the toys as well! Would recommend this place to all pet lovers, and would definitely visit again. read more

Everything the other reviewers mentioned is true. The prices are fair, the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable, they remember repeat customers (and our pups when we bring them with us!). My only gripe is I wish they were open later. They close at 7 which always means I'm too late to pick up dog food after work. read more

This store is great. They know a lot about their merchandise and give good suggestions. Their prices are comparable to major retailers. In fact, we got Orijen dog treats for $11.79 here. I gave this place 4 stars because that's what the 2 reviewers before me had chosen. I don't have any pets but took a peek inside here when going to Rossman's next door. I just wanted to comment on what K.F. said about needing a car to get here. You don't at all - the R train stops a block away at 25th St on 4th Ave (and M during rush hours), and the B37 bus goes right down 3rd Ave and stops right nearby. Seems like a they have good deals and a car would be helpful though if you want to buy jumbo packs of dog food and etc. read more

I love this place, they sell the whole line of Hill's food and almost every brand you can think of. Their prices are decent and the staff is very helpful. There's nothing like great service and that is what I have always gotten from this store. They have 2 locations but the 3rd ave location is closer to where I live. Forget about how helpful the owner is. Forget about the fact that he knows pets and products very well. I was very low on dog food once and I happen to work in manhattan. I stopped by pet food store here in the city and they had the brand of food that I get for my dog. It was a 40 pound bag, which I always get. I asked how much it was and the guy told me $70 (and some change) with tax. Really? wow! For ONE bag?? When I go to Pet Delight, I get TWO 40 pound bags for just about $90 dollars. We should all be buying our pet food and supplies from here. read more

This is the place to go for price and selection. Yes, it's true that some folks find the owner abrasive. I find that if I'm friendly, he is too. I might not agree with his politics, but I don't go there with him. Apart from that, he and his staff are very helpful. Ok, so it's not the most glamorous shopping experience. Maybe not for the Trixie and Peanut crowd. But if you're into saving money and you know what you need, it's a great place. The store is so packed with supplies, that it's very difficult to browse. But the owner is very helpful and loves to give money saving tips, which I find refreshing.
