If I could give this place 0 star I would. The lady working there had no idea what she was doing. Gave us the wrong information and then the day before picking up our puppy called and said our puppy had parvo. But thought I was someone else. After correcting her she said our puppy was exposed. Ever since getting a Bearded Dragon, I've been interested in getting a leopard gecko and have been traveling around from shop to shop. I've only been to Pet Central once, but unfortunately it didn't leave the greatest impression on me. I am specifically concerned about the reptiles there. They are all kept on sand, which can be harmful for small reptiles, as it can cause impaction in many species. They had a nice assortment of Leopard geckos, but out of their three tanks not one had a mossy humid hide for them to shed in. They also had UVB bulbs lit which can be harmful to their eyesight if exposed to for long periods of time. Their Blue-Tongued Skink also looked uncomfortable with sand stuck to his feet. Maybe they keep the leopard geckos in a different tank at night, or bathe all their reptiles to assist in their shedding. But from the living conditions I saw, it made me very nervous if I were to ever buy a reptile from there. I want to like this store, but I'm worried for the reptiles that are being kept there. read more

The owner Darius is super helpful, patient, and informative. They have supplies for all sorts of pets, and the best part is the back room with all the aquariums - freshwater and saltwater tanks. There were some species of fish that I wasn't familiar with, so it's a good place to find some rarer ones. I imagine he can order things for customers too. He recently helped me in a huge way by taking off my hands some fish that came with a tank that i won in a raffle, and I'll be forever grateful because these poor fish were overloaded in a nano tank. It's nice to see a "mom and pop" pet store going above and beyond to build relationships with their customers. Love this pet store for many reasons...the owners are local folks, knowledgable, friendly, never feel rushed or pressured to buy something, and they are super knowledgable on chincillas! I purchased my chinchilla there several years ago and have never had any health issues with it. The store is clean, well organized, and just a great neighborhood place to visit. read more

Extremely friendly. Their mascot, Sookie, is adorable. Reasonable prices, especially being a mom and pop shop. You can tell they love animals. I would say the store itself isn't the cleanest, but the pet areas are immaculate, which is the most important. They have a smaller selection, but exactly what I needed. I would go there again. And, I can't wait to tell my husband about their fish. read more

I would like to just say a very big thank you to the owner of pet Central for helping my family out we adopted a dog from an adoption agency they were hosting called Caesar's heaven. The dog turned out to be very sick and after the rescue stepped out of the responsibility for the vet bills pet central stopped in. They help us out with the bills and now we are a forever customer. They stand behind their quality store and their customers I couldn't say anything more wonderful about the store and its owner. We will be getting all the dogs needs (food,toys) from this store from now on. read more

Visited this store for the first time today and absolutely loved it. The owner is very knowledgeable and extremely nice. My pitbull is allergic to almost everything and he gave me free food samples and told me to check back in to see how she's doing. And that he'll help until we find the right food for her. Great shop. This place is great! We walked in about a 1/2 hour before they closed (I hate when people do that!) on LABOR DAY and of course my 2 year old had to stop and look at the ALL fish for what seemed like forever! After wandering around making sure to stop and look at the many different varieties of animals we finally made it to the register for our grand purchase of a dozen crickets, totaling a little over a dollar? The guy couldn't be nicer! I never felt rushed or like I ruined the start to to his holiday weekend. He asked about our purchase and even threw in some free moss for our toads to sit on! This is by far the cleanest pet store I have ever been in. The fish tanks are clean and not overstocked. The food and toys for dogs and cats is clean, nicely stacked. I was told to call or go on Facebook if I needed help. They respond quickly and seem to really care. Awesome, awesome shopping experience. It's nice to talk to people who know what they are talking about and are willing to help. Customer for life. read more
