I wanted to recognize the team at Pet Care Plus for the care and professionalism they showed during my pup Kuma's 2-week Board & Train stay. I will be honest--there was an incident on the live camera feed that was very upsetting to witness, and I was ready to pick Kuma up the next morning. As a rescue puppy, seeing her mishandled by an employee broke my heart. What made the difference was how quickly and professionally Kate, the managerbresponded. She called me within minutes of my email, listened to my concerns, showed genuine empathy, and immediately put my mind at ease. The team took my concerns seriously and ensured Kuma was never placed under that employee's care again. Because of how Kate and her staff handled the situation, I decided to give it couple more days. Kuma was happy, well cared for and enjoyed playtime. Today, Kuma attends daycare twice a week, has a monthly pool pass, and loves her time there. Love this place! Take my dog to daycare here, and a few things I love - they don't require that you have to come 2-3x a week like many in Chicago. Just not realistic for us. Also, they have cameras! Something many in Chicago don't. Service is always so nice, and my dog who has not liked being dropped off at daycares in the past, LOVES coming here. She walks in and never looks back! One thing I wish is that when she's being boarded, they no longer send a daily report card unless you pay an extra fee which I don't love. read more

We've been taking Charlie to daycare at PetCare Plus for almost 2 years now, since he was a puppy! We got Charlie during COVID and it was so hard to socialize him. We wanted to take him to a place we could trust. We scoped around a few daycares and found PetCare Plus to be the best fit! The staff seem to really care about the pups and they had some really good COVID precautions early on in the pandemic. Charlie has never had a bad time. Every time we drop him off, he is really excited! We usually drop him off early in the morning (8am) and pick him up around 5pm. Their pick up and drop off hours are really flexible and long, which means Charlie gets a lot of playtime! I think they give the pups a good break during lunch, which is nice, so they don't get delirious! When it's warm out, the pups get to play outside. And in the summer, we get Charlie a few pool passes and he gets to play outside in the pool. Charlie LOVES the pool. He doesn't always jump in immediately, but it's fun to watch him jump in after the ball. All of the play areas have cameras, which we really appreciate!! Sometimes instead of catching up on errands, chores, or work, we find ourselves just watching Charlie! It's great. I can't recommend PetCarePlus enough read more

We just starting coming here once a week and we like it. I like that they have an outdoor option but I wish there was more space overall. I do also appreciate the cameras to check in on my pup. The staff is friendly and professional and attentive. My one concern is that there really seems to be quite a number of dogs. I did not get to see the crates for nap time, and I'm sure they're fine, but I would imagine they're small to have to fit the number of dogs all napping at the same time. There are 3 different play groups will what looks like an average of 20 dogs or so a group. There seems to be enough staff to manage it all, but again, I wish the play areas were bigger. read more

My lab Lucy has been going to Pet Care Plus for all 9+ years of her life, and she really likes it there. We've used them for day care, grooming, and boarding. PCP staffers are always very responsive and quick to answer calls and emails. I love being able to watch group play on the web cam. And it's great that they have ample outdoor space and even a pool (though Lucy's a landlubber). I'm grateful to have such a reliable and happy place to take my girl. It might be better if they could more staff per dog, so that every dog could get more individual attention while in group. But it's not like the group play is too chaotic or dogs get out of control. And I guess higher staff ratios have gotten prohibitively expensive post-pandemic. I appreciate PCP's honesty about that situation. I haven't looked into whether PCP's ratio is similar to other services in the area. PCP really saved my life a few years ago, when they also offered in-home care. One of their regulars stayed with my dog and cat for a few days. Lucy loved having someone she knew take care of her at home. I hope they offer that again someday. It wasn't cheap, but it was commensurate with what other services charged, and it was, as I said, a real lifesaver. We've been going to Pet Care Plus for almost 6 years on and off for grooming since our boy dog was a puppy (and we lived in Fulton market area). We ended up moving to Wrigley, tried another groomer... didn't really like them, but we didn't have a car so coming back wasn't an option. If you've been to a few groomers - you know they can sometimes be a bit.... Weird? About three years ago we rescued a girl dog who had been caged and used for breeding - she was picky with people she liked, had a lot of hair loss, and we were just nervous about sending her to the groomer we were going to. About the same time as we got her, we got a car and knew that we had to take them back to Pet Care Plus! So glad we did. They are worth the 45min-1 hour round trip we take each way to bring our dogs there. We always knew they were in good hands and always felt good about this decision. We've loved every groomer we've had there so far, but in the past year or so we somehow naturally started to pair up with Gina. She's always nailed our dogs hair cuts (pics below)! Now for the most important part - a few months ago we had been having some health issues with our girl dog that we had been going to the vet multiple times for. The vet couldn't figure out what was wrong with her and we were kind of at a loss for what was wrong. When we took them in for grooming, Gina witnessed the issues we were having with the dog. She asked me about it - I told her what was going on and that the vets were stumped - she encouraged me nicely to keep seeking a solution because it wasn't good. So we did. Turned out our dog had a specific form of bladder cancer called TCC. As soon as we found out we did everything we could to help her fight the cancer, and she was able to live 3 more months with us. It was devastating to lose our dog, but we can't help but feel so grateful for Gina's encouragement to keep seeking answers. Without her advice, I think our poor girl would have been in a lot of untreated pain. The first time coming back for a groom without our girl dog was very bittersweet, and we talked to Gina to let her know what transpired/thanked her for her help. She spoke very fondly of both of our dogs, we could tell she cared for each of them individually and knew their personalities well, and it really did mean a lot. It feels good when you find people that really care and you can trust. That is what makes a place like this worth coming back to! Over the past couple of years, they have been doing anything and everything to cut corners due to property tax increases (they emailed their client base to point this out). Despite having extra playrooms, they prefer to dangerously overcrowd daycare groups (sometimes ~30 dogs in one of the smaller rooms) to limit the amount of space used/cleanup required. They reduced staff and have constant turnover, which causes regular issues, such as double/erroneous charges and being provided with wrong information. They never answer the phones and it's usually set to go to voicemail during business hours saying "you've reached us outside of business hours." Finally, their hours and rules around things like packages and group time are ever-changing to the point where we started having to check ahead of every visit/purchase. We used to love taking our pup here but no longer trust them to provide the care and attention all doggos deserve. read more

It must be run like a successful business! Everything about Pet Care Plus is top of the line professional. The facility is always clean, designed perfectly for owners and their dogs, and filed with the best of everything that you can imagine to care for your dog. Combine that with Chicago coolest dog pool and it is easy to see why I and my dog love Pet Care Plus. However, what really makes this place special is the people. They not only truly love the dogs they care for but they have the knowledge and the training to really get to know your dog to be able to care for them on a level that far exceeds any doggie day care in the Chicagoland area. Yes, that is a bold statement, but I will stand behind it. Pet Care plus is not the cheapest and not the most expensive, but their service always far exceeds their cost.
