After spending all day at the beach we wanted to go get dinner. On our way from leaving the beach we stopped by a Thai restaurant that was part of what I think was a hotel right on the beach. Food and drink prices made us look somewhere else, and it just had a touristy vibe to it. My wife was craving something local and authentic and we had been wanting to try some seafood. She found this gem in the residential neighborhood. Open air restaurant that had a good amount of people when we got there. We were seated right away and the waiter even offered us bug spray for the mosquitos. We ordered the ceviche mixto and grilled lobster. The ceviche was amazing, they had this habanero salsa that was soooo delicious and went perfect with the ceviche and some lime. The lobster was fresh and was just as tasty. But after the meal all I could think about was that ceviche/habanero combination. After talking to one of the waiters we discovered that they're fishermen and everything they serve they catch themselves. The michelada was bomb too. Local working class vibes. Looking out into the street you'll see people in the neighborhood walking and riding their bikes. We were told they close at 6pm but they stayed open because people kept showing up, we got there at 6:30pm. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.
P.s. After eating there we picked up some fresh bread from a spot directly across the street. read more
