This place has a decent vibe. The beer is good but they need to be on top of keeping their IPA's stocked in cans. Customer service was a complete miss. While standing at the cash register I wasn't acknowledged until I said said hello. The beer selection in the self serve reach-ins had a decent selection but nothing spectacular outside of Humble Sea and Alvarado. I'd probably go for a few drinks sometime in the future but if customer service fails again then I'll be passing on this one. read more

Modesto has needed a place like this for decades. The atmosphere is fun and the beer is excellent. Food is hit-or-miss depending on what's being offered. Were invited here to a fundraiser for a friend. Wonderful find. Place is huge, parking great, beverages were excellent and it was a great family atmosphere. Service was also top notch. The owner Patrick is VERY friendly and will answer any questions and really knows his beers!! The food is definitely the side show but not bad! We had an Alvarado Stout and oh my!! Local brewery serving beer within local market. After no less than two years of painstaking effort, the collaboration between Patrick and James has come to fruition. The Market on 7th street has been a hot spot for finely crafted ales as well as a great meat counter and deli. Now the opening of Persuasion brewing to the location should add to the joy of craft ale enthusiasts. As if Saturday 9/28/18 you can now come in and enjoy a draft ale in either 8 or 16 oz pours. It's early but so far the IPA is excellent, with 7 other guest brews on tap your sure to find a great brew to your liking. This place is hard to find. It is inside the Mexican meat market and there are no signs outside. We are so glad that we did find it though. They are just getting started and have 8 beers on tap. Edited to say that none of the beetles on tap are theirs. They are brewing but it is still small production and runs out fast. The guest beers are great and there is a good variety. My favorite is the Alesmith which is a stout with coconut, vanilla, and coffee. We will come back and try their beer once they have more production. read more
