Spectacular Friday Night…read more I often whine about the restaurants in Montrose having license plates on the walls, and I'd like a nice, quiet place with a touch of class. The Stone House absolutely delivered! wonderful ambiance, not super loud music, nice staff I keep forgetting to come back, its a mistake. Prime Rib on Friday, a perfectly cooked medium rare, flavor spot-on. Vegetables were perfect, light crunch, not mush, flavorful as could be. Wait staff? friendly, smiling, nice, and not "fakey fakey" but truly seemed to be in a good mood and making the evening great. I'm thrilled, highly recommend.. Will return often. thank you

"Camp Robber" may amount to highway robbery...hear me out:…read moreGot food to go, ordered online. Fairly smooth ordering process. Got chicken quesadilla appetizer for the kids, 1/2 rack of ribs, and street tacos (one pulled pork, one grilled chicken, and one beer battered cod) with beans and cilantro rice. The service was kind and I picked it up on time. The orders were hand-written on the boxes. Inside the store was pretty standard for a Southwestern style casual dining restaurant. Dark walls, decent lighting. So as far as affordability...here's where it fell flat. I'll say, the food was all flavorful. If it was taste alone, it would be a 5 star. BUT... The street tacos were comparable in size to Del Taco's street tacos... so...not much. For the price point, not worth it. The "1/2 rack" of St. Louis Style Ribs had a total of 4 ribs. Like...would their 1/4 rack only have 2 ribs?? The best value item was the chicken quesadilla, but we paid extra to sub sour cream for the salsa (my kids can't handle "spice"), and it came in a SMALL condiment cup. Ultimately, we polished off our dinner and had to supplement everything with other foods. Which we'd be fine with except at the price we paid, anywhere else would have easily left us satisfied. Ultimately, it was good and people were kind, so it just amounts to a big sigh.

July 18, 2026 - Montrose, CO…read more The dog-friendly outdoor patio first caught our eye, and then the name--Horsefly Brewing Company--along with its great reviews convinced us to stop for lunch. We're so glad we did! The patio is spacious and comfortable, with several seating areas that give it a relaxed atmosphere. Our server was friendly and attentive, and his recommendation of the Flatlander Chicken Sandwich ($15.99) was spot on. Since my husband and I often split meals, we ordered one sandwich to share. To our surprise, it arrived already divided onto two separate plates--a thoughtful touch that's becoming all too rare. That kind of service definitely earns extra points. The sandwich was delicious, with grilled chicken breast, guacamole, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle mayo, served with perfectly cooked crispy fries. I ordered an iced tea but couldn't resist trying a sample of their seasonal Peach Ale. It was so good that I ended up ordering a small glass. I'm not usually much of a beer drinker, but this one was outstanding. I only wish they sold it in cans so I could have taken some home! Before we left, my husband picked up a couple of cans of his favorite beers and a Horsefly T-shirt. Great food, excellent service, tasty beer, and a welcoming dog-friendly patio made this a memorable stop. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area.

Was asked if I wanted water and coffee, got coffee with creamer. Coffee was hot and good. My waitress came by to asked what I wanted to order but I needed a few more minutes to look over the menu. After . A little while she came back by and ordered 2 eggs, hash brown, biscuit and I wanted a side of sausage, she said the order comes with 2, so 2 links....and a side of green chile sauce. At no time did she write anything down.....not a good thing. She tried to say if I ordered another combo of a breakfast meal, it would be better deal. I said no thanks, I would like what I ordered. After a few minutes I hear her talking to a co worker about me and complaining and saying I tried to get her a better deal and she chose the more expensive one. After a few minutes she gave me my biscuit and I told her she should really not talk bad about her customers when they are within an area where they can hear you. She apologized and tried to reassure me the reason why she was trying to get me to go with the other menu option. I told here I looked over the whole menu and that is what I wanted and how I wanted it. She understood and walked away. After a while my food came and it was all that I ordered except.....the chile. Not writing things down with usually result in a mistake of forgetting something. My waitress came by to fill up my coffee, more creamer and never said anything about forgetting my side of chile. After I was done she got me my ticket and then let me know she appreciated me saying something to her and setting her straight. She got a tip but it was not what I would usually leave due to her behavior. Hope if I ever go back it will be better service.
